Tom Morelli at Suburban was very courteous and professional. The job was done with quality workmanship and the price could not be beat. They also did a great job of cleaning up after the job was complete! have another project coming up and I will definitely be using this company again. Great old school family owned business. Tom and his crew was great to work with and did exactly as expected. Showed up when promised and completed the job with no problems. They were very careful and even with major digging they did not damage our sprinkler system. I would definitely hire them again.

Contacted Suburban for an estimate. After two calls they showed up back in October. After two follow up calls were not replied to I contacted them today 1/19/15. Response was woeful. "I can get to it when it gets warmer:. No explanation on why calls were not returned or no contact was attempted to be made in over two months. Also, NO APPOLOGY OFFERED! Stay away.

It went very well, Tom Morelli explained what he would do and did it very well as proposed. Tom answered all my questions in a very professional manner. Tom stayed on the entire job.

Tom and his guys were excellent, not only professional but very personable. All the jobs were done to perfection. His workers Ramone and Alex are amazing at what they do. I trusted them with a house key to come and go as they did the work. I am extremely happy with all the work done and how accessible Tom was whenever I called. Hands down best price. Very happy with the work that Tom and his team performed. Always arrived and completed work on time, which made scheduling other activities easier. The driveway looks great! I was very happy with the work that they did to reset the cobblestones at the bottom of my driveway and matching the cobblestone border to the existing cobblestones. A pleasure to work with.

Tom was amazing to work with. Truly professional and accommodating. These guys are usually busy in the summer so patience with scheduling may be needed. However Tom and his team is dedicated once work begins, they did a beautiful job on my stairs and new backyard. They are also the fairest price I was able to find, so it is amazing that not only are they fairly priced, with good work, but also professional and accommodating. They even cleared out the weeds around my fence before they left. Will definitely be keeping their contact for future needs.

I found Tom on Angie's List and called him regarding having my driveway re-paved. Tom came over a few days later and after reviewing my drive way condition suggested what should be done. He explained what my options were and gave me a good price right from the start. Tom set a date when he can do the job and came as promised and did an excellent job. Job started on 8/14 with removal of old driveway, installing block border, leveling and installing crushed stone underlayer. Work was done neatly and efficiently. On 8/28 crew returned and compacted the stone and installed and rolled out the asphalt. Completed job looks nice and neat. Very happy with the outcome. This is the second time I've used Suburban and I will call them again if the need arises. These are not a bunch of guys from the parking lot at the Home Depot. These are pros. Tom is a nice guy and he knows how to run his business.

Overall experience was very positive, Tom, his son and crew were all really great. My wife and I changed the scheduled start date and then asked to have the work done before we left for vacation, Tom was able to comply and finished the work the day before we left. Further, we are both very happy with the final outcome of the project and more importantly, the ease of which the project moved forward. Tom was at the house every day work was being performed, we had multiple check-ins, made last minutes changes and even fixed damage not caused Suburban. The work exceeded our expectations on all levels, bottom line; Tom was professional, engaged, punctual and honest. We will use Tom in the future and would recommend him to friends and neighbors. Very good experience. Tom is a professional and pleasant individual who was reliable and responsive. Came over for estimate. Once hired, actual job was done few wks later in approx 2 hrs with 5 guys. Repaired concrete, added 3-ft concrete slab front of ext Bilco bsmt door. Stuccoed walls stairwell. Also Installed gutter extenders I'd purchased under deck. Purpose of all this was to prevent rainwater seepage. Improved significantly, but after next big rain, water still seeped at contact point where new concrete met old at top step. After few wks Tom sent a couple guys over to re-stucco those problem areas. Next big rain still had minor seepage through top step. Tom recommended I paint that area with waterproofing masonry paint. I am planning to do that in next few wks. This relatively small job was blown off, disregarded and flat-out turned down by 5 or 6 other companies I called. Big points to Tom and his company for respecting this client regardless of profitability.

Called to get an estimate for a new driveway in Merrick. Tom called back the next day and he had already drove by the house. He gave me an estimate over the phone. Due to the high rating on Angie's list I told him to go ahead. He gave me a date two weeks away but called me back a few days later and said he could do the job earlier. We set a date. I was concerned he might have sub-contracted the job to someone else but bright and early on the scheduled date Tom showed up with all the equipment and crew. I felt good he was personally overseeing the job. Everyone was courteous and efficient. The job was great and the cleanup was spectacular. The job also came in less then the estimate.

From the time of our initial call for an estimate to the day of the actual work Tom Morelli was responsive to our every need. He came when promised and answered all our questions in a courteous and friendly manner. Tom is very personable and put us at ease. We asked when we signed the contract if the job could be done by Memorial Day weekend. He said it would and between the weather and our going on vacation for 5 days the driveway was done and done very well. I might mention that we called 2 other companies for estimates and was very put off with both of them. We went with Surburban and know we made the right choice.

I found this mason on Angies List.com. I called and we had a good telephone conversation. It was a short one. He asked me to call him at his office and leave a message, or text him my address and phone number so that he could call me later that evening and set up an appointment. No problem there, and I did this, but never heard back from him. Wondering what was going on, I again texted him: "I guess you're not interested in the job!" , hoping for a response. The following is the exact text that I received from Tom soon after I texted him, without any changes: "I'll let you know if I'm interested or not I'll let you know what happened yesterday too I got home from work at 6 o'clock I had 15 messages to return which I returned everyone it was after eight by that time I want to watch the Ranger game so I stopped working at that point" It is two days after my initial call, and I have still not heard from Tom. Would you want someone to do work at your house who won't give up 5 minutes of a Ranger's game to set up an appointment? That's what DVR's were made for. I love the Rangers too, but, I was always taught "Business before pleasure!" What do you think? Update: It is now the day after Memorial Day. I still have not heard from Tom.

I am very happy with the job that Suburban Asphalt did re-paving and re-setting the Belgian Block on my approximately 1000 square foot driveway. I got four estimates to re-do the driveway and theirs was the most reasonable. I like the way Tom (the owner) measured the driveway and got the square footage and then simply multiplied that by what he charges per square foot. No charging by the way the house looks or the neighborhood that its located in. After some weather related delays in getting to work on our driveway, Tom kept me in the loop as to when he and his crew would start the job. Loved the fact that Tom is hands on when doing the job as he will pitch in and shovel cement to set the block or wheelbarrow the asphalt from the truck to the driveway. His crew (his son and two other workers) were always busy during the job and kept the area neat while doing the job and when they finished the job. Tom also has the right equipment to do the work professionally. Finally Tom was very easy to work with and as far as I am concerned a real professional in the way he presented and handled himself. By the way, Tom ended up doing two other driveways in my neighborhood and gave four neighbors estimates to do their driveways.

Excellent experience. Tom, the owner, came out to give us an estimate. Recommended approach was in line with other estimates, and price was good. Work was done neatly, and drainage, which had been a big problem, is drastically improved. Definitely recommend.

He didn't show up. I called and called. He didn't return my call until I left a message stating that Angie's List is asking for my feed back. He then called me back. Came over, gave an oral estimate without plans or anything. A total waste of the money I paid Angie's List

I did not have any recommendations for a driveway guy I came on Angie's List and picked Suburban from the reviews. So glad I did though because Tom and his crew did an amazing job! Tom is super busy so it took some time for him to get here but well worth the wait. He was responsive from the start very fair priced and was really great he even hauled away some block that I had sitting in piles! He went above and beyond. He is hands on with his crew and everyone was just great! I would definitely use him again when we finally decide to get our patio done. Job well done! Wish I could give him and his crew an A+++++! Such hard working guys in the cold weather!! Super pleased!!!
