Description of Work: We weren't getting internet service and the computer company could not adequately fix the problem. Steve Levy (Pinpoint) replaced the adapter which corrected the problem. He was pleasant and efficient and cleaned up the system at no additional cost to us. My husband is still raving about how fast the system now works.

Description of Work: I highly recommend. He came to the house and assessed my computer which apparently was dead. He took it back to his shop and salvaged as much data as possible and re-installed programs.

Description of Work: This was my second experience using a co mpany on Angies List since becoming a member earlier this year. My problem involved whether or not to spend more money to upgrade a 2005 laptop or buy a new one. {I had recently spent close to $300 to have Dell bring my 2005 laptop back to it's original operating system.] I found Pinpoint Computer Services on angies list. I called and left a detailed message for Steve Levy. He promptly got back to me & we arranged a time for him to stop by my place and pick up the laptop. Within a day or two Steve had picked up the laptop and got back to me. He said after a diagnostic testing, he suggested i would be better off buying a new laptop. I called Dell and ordered a new Dell laptop; when it arrived, I let Steve know and a time was arranged for Steve to get the computer set up. Steve is very professional, prompt to respond to calls and very nice to deal with. I would call steve again and I would not hesitate to recommend him to friends and family members. '

Description of Work: I had a problem with the registries on my desktop, was unable to link up and perform certain functions. By linking up with my computer remotely and having to come to my house to actually work ON the desktop, Steve resolved the problem. He did whatever was necessary to get the job done, and the problem was fixed to my total satisfaction. He was prompt, very knowledgeable and capable, definitely my "go to guy" for any future computer problems. And as far as I am concerned the price was more than reasonable. I have tried to use other computer "tech" services of this type before, where the cost was very expensive and the work took forever, and was never quite satisfactory. With Steve, I got professional service at a reasonable cost.

Description of Work: Dear Angieslist: We used Pinpoint several times already and we are very happy with Steve Levy. We feel we finally have someone we can trust and who is very capable. We will continue to use Steve...(Pinpoint)...as our needs change and issues arise. He performed the following services flawlessly: Set up a network of three computers Cleaned up all our software and disks Installed several new programs Set up our Condo on a wireless network Troubleshooted several issues Transferred all our files and software to our new laptops Installed a backup software system Advised us on several hardware purchases We are very happy and grateful as well. Description of Work: Steve had to replace the hard drive on my Dell Computer and was here four hours completing this work. In addition, the following day he had to access my computer remotely to get the email program working properly which necessitated additional time spent on the phone with Verizon technical support. He also spent time on the phone with Norton Security to download a new program for me. I found Steve to be very professional in every way and he responded promptly to telephone questions. Highly recommend Steve to anyone with a computer problem for his professionalism and patience. This was a good experience and my computer is running just as it was when it was new!

+ -1 moreThe appointment was for 1:00 pm, and at 1:03 my doorbell rang. Until Steve, I have never seen this machine run so efficiently. My HP computer is almost 6 years old and until Steve had finished I had never realized what Verizon was speaking about with their DSL service. Just this summer, I was ready to switch back to the cable company because I was very disappointed with DSL service. Verizon should thank Steve for me seeing how good DSL service really is. Steve worked almost a full two hours and in the end was very, very fair in his billing. I would never hesitate to recommend Steve Levy and Pinpoint Computer Services.
Description of Work: Steve performed virus, spyware and various maleware removal from my computer. He also added an A grade virus and spyware software onto my computer for me.

+ -1 moreI called Pinpoint Computer Services and made an appointment to have my computer repaired. A guy by the name of Steve Levy arrived at my home at the appointed time. He was very good at listening to the problems I had before he started work. He repaired the virus problem and then went through some procedures to speed up my computer. To make a long story short, my PC worked well when he finished and it was definitely faster than it had been in a long time.
Description of Work: Removed a virus. Speeded up my PC.
