Description of Work: I placed two separate orders with Carpet One - Install approx. 400 sq ft of hardwood flooring and install wooden treads and risers on an existing interior staircase. These were done on 2 separate dates. While in both cases the installation was done in a very professional manner, and the results were excellent, coordination with the service department could have been better. | |Specifically, on the first day, they were supposed to arrive at approximately 9 am. By 11am, they hadn't arrived and I'd not heard from them, so I called the service department. It seems that the installation crew never got the instruction from the service manager that my job was scheduled for that day. If I hadn't called, I might still be waiting. | |However, to their credit, they immediately reacted to their mistake and finally arrived at about 1:15pm. With apologies, they did an excellent job with removing existing carpet, moving furniture into and out of the room, installing the hardwood floor, and a full cleanup and still finished the job by the end of the day. So, kudos to the crew, but not so much for the installation day coordination. | |The second installation took place on another day, and went quite smoothly, even though the crew came across unexpected problems. First, they arrived right on time and started work right away. But, since my house is rather old, no two surfaces seem to be perfectly parallel or perpendicular. So, no two steps (treads and risers) measured exactly alike. In spite of the problems, they did an excellent job and I've gotten many compliments on both the floor and stairway.

Description of Work: I needed special help choosing a carpet for my bedroom, closet and bathroom since I use an electric wheelchair and the friction from the wheels on turning ripped holes in my old carpeting. They were very helpful when I chose the carpet, bringing samples to my home since it was hard for me to go out. I ended up with a commercial grade nylon glue down carpet with a 15 year warranty. The installer was a bit late but called to warn me he would be. He did a beautiful job installing the carpet and I could not be more pleased. I did buy the Angie's List special for $400 worth of carpet for $199 and there was no problem having it applied. I will use them again when it is time to do my living room carpet.
