+ -1 moreThis review is long overdue since my work was done about six months ago. The owner and her associate arrived promptly to develop a quote. Several days later, when I accepted the very fair quote, they confirmed paint colors & arranged a work schedule. They estimated the job would take two days; the work included any needed wall repair & two coats of paint. After my furniture was moved, I realized the baseboards needed paint, which wasn’t part of the original plan. They adjusted the quote & completed all the work in one day rather than two. When I noticed that the wall around a switch plate had not been repaired, the owner herself returned the following day to repair the wall, paint as needed & reinstall the plate. The women were pleasant, careful & professional. I expect to call them again to do some additional work.

+ -1 moreI was very happy with every aspect of employing Women at Work. It took no longer than a week from my initial call to having a scheduled time. When Julie Brezee came over to do an estimate she asked lots of precise questions and also gave me some very good ideas that I ended up using. Her crew was great - very easy to work with, amazingly neat, and completely professional. The job went over two days; at the end of the first, they asked me to look around very carefully and to let them know if I saw anything at all that I thought needed improved or retouched. On the second day, they very willingly touched up a couple of places that I hadn't given good instructions about. At the end of the second day, before they left, the supervisor, Joe, took me on an unhurried walk-through to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction. I was totally satisfied with their work and their cleanup was impeccable. I would definitely recommend them and I intend to hire them again.
Description of Work: I had a medium-sized interior paint job - two story hallway, kitchen, two baths, two ceilings - lots of trim.

+ -1 moreWomen at Work did an exceptional job painting my foyer, stairwell, upstairs and downstairs hallways, bathroom, and more. The walls were old, cracked, and covered with glue from wallpaper I had removed. Women at Work came in and fully prepped and painted all of the walls, ceiling, and trim. They were incredibly professional and clean, and the final product is GORGEOUS! I plan on hiring them again in the near future to help with other areas of my home. I HIGHLY recommend this company without reservation. This was not an easy or simple job and Women at Work exceeded my expectations.

They had great advice and were able to provide me with some options I hadn't thought about, which made the final results even better. I was particularly pleased with my cupboards which they transformed from tired, worn oak to a beautiful white with a smooth, durable surface. The process was fast and easy from a homeowners view. Their crew kept things moving and the job was finished in days, not weeks. The painters were friendly, professional, and organized. I was truly pleased with everything about this project. This is the forth time I have hired Women at Work for both indoor and outdoor painting and highly recommend them.

Very friendly, conscientious, professional and did great work. They painted quickly and efficiently. I WOULD NOT hesitate to hire this company again or recommend them to friends and family. Quality work and people are a hard commodity these days. I hit the jackpot.

+ 0 moreWe are preparing our parents' home for sale. It was difficult to pay for services we could have preformed (unprofessionally) for ourselves, but we were so happy we did. This crew did a fantastic job! They encountered mildew under bathroom wallpaper, plaster and lath walls that needed serious mudding, all sorts of wall paper to remove and some cracks in walls and ceilings to repair. Barb and Julie really know their craft, they have pride in their work and it shows. The crew was hardworking, cheerfull and patient with us moving around in the house. Great job!

+ -1 moreWomen at work painted previously stained woodwork and doors. They use a shellac primer before painting and it looks great. Walls and ceilings look nice and they have you do an inspection before they leave and offer to come back within a week to correct anything you aren’t happy with.

+ -1 moreThey sent disreputable contractors to my home and things have gone horribly.
Description of Work: I contacted this firm for painting my entire exterior of my home. My understanding was that they were going to come and give me an estimate. I've had serious health considerations, and have been legally labelled disabled. Eventually this firm sent someone here, who had a painting license, and "his own company," and who I paid and painted my house, probably for much more than I should have paid him it turns out. His brother was also a general contractor, and I hired him to do some carpentry work on the exterior, install a new stove top, and redo my shower and tub. He did good work with the exterior within reasonable prices, however he didn't have a plumbing license. This large man became very frustrated with the work he couldn't do with my bathroom, tore off the frame around the bathroom entrance door, bashed the tub he removed through the dry wall into my hallway, ripped up the floor and wall tile, that he claimed he's an expert at installing as well, and left the old cast iron tub in one of my bedrooms. I paid him 2600.00 upfront, as a courtesy. Big mistake. Big mistake to hire he or his brother. Big mistake to contact "Women at Work," who sent these men to my home, who in fact have serious criminal backgrounds it appears. I've thus far spent 4700.00 for a new tub and shower replacement, and have more people coming for the damaged tile, the torn wall paper and fractured walls and door frames for estimates. The contractor doesn't return my calls, is unlocatable, and I've filed a small claims against him.

The wallpaper removal was pure gruntwork for that crew but they plowed through it and right away the place looked great. The painting was icing on the cake. We love the way the place looks. The whole team, ( spoiler: there are guys ) was friendly, professional, competant, on time, worked hard and handed us a beautiful looking house. Thank you Women at work.

We were in a time crunch as we had just moved in and had the movers place our furniture/items in the middle of the rooms. Julie managed to fit us into her schedule. She and the team of painters were professional, pleasant, skilled, thorough and neat. The price was quite competitive for the amount of painting required. My husband and I are so pleased with our beautiful walls/home. We will definitely be calling them to paint the rest of the house in the future!

+ 0 moreBeautifully! It was wonderful to find experts with experience in painting aluminum as well as wood houses. They gave us a price quote the same day we contacted them. It was less than a bid from another party. Half is paid at the beginning, the balance on completion of the job. Power washing first, a considerable amount of caulking of holes, slits, gaps etc. Two coats of paint with the first coat mixed with a special adhesive product. Painting was completed in less than a week, with difficult rainy and windy conditions. Above the windows are decorative wooden scrolls which were gently cleaned, scraped, twice painted and brought back to their original beauty. On a personal note, I have sometimes been disappointed with the work or the workers performing different work for us in the past. Sometimes work was done too quickly and mistakes were made. What I so appreciate with Women at Work is the regular checking up, to see if everything is agreed on, if there are questions, to make sure that we are on target. Finally- what a great group of individuals they are! They have been a joy to have around! .
Description of Work: Painting the exterior of our 200 year old, two storey house as well as a large deck and two side entrances. The house was last painted at least 47 years ago and has aluminum siding.
