Women At Work

It went really well! We are in love with the new look, it completely transformed the kitchen - modernized it.

The entire process took two weeks. They were extremely efficient, professional and a pleasure to work with. Very very pleased with the finished product and would highly recommend them !!

Women at Work just finished our project, painting all of our 45+ year old wood kitchen cabinets and drawers. What a great experience from start to finish!! Julie and Barbara are professional, prompt and very knowledgeable. Along with the initial quote, we were advised of the entire process and how the cabinets would be treated/painted. When Julie came for the initial session of removing the cabinet doors, she reexplained the process again and offered valued suggestions to our questions; she's so friendly, as well as so knowledgeable of her profession! Their team who came to the house for several sessions were all professional and experienced, and also very friendly. They were neat, worked quietly, and there was no disruption for us in using the kitchen while the project was in process. The completed project is amazing, we have a brand new look with our new cabinets!! We highly recommend this team!!

Everyone was very professional and easy to work with. Julie made scheduling a breeze, they were even able to come a week ahead of schedule. They painted the entire 2nd floor of my cape cod along with a tall stairwell and completed the whole thing in a day. The ladies working were very nice and didn’t leave a trace of paint anywhere but the walls. Would definitely hire them again for any future projects!

They never did anything for me. Do not even know who they are.

1. Team came in to remove doors. Each person new exactly what to do Doors were taken to the shop to be painted by a special process. We had one painter come to the house to paint cupboards. It did take a few days because the paint had to dry between coats. Each day he'd call and let is know when to expect him. He was very professional, an excellent painter and fast. At first we thought a couple of painters would come but he finished each coat easily One day he worked on a Saturday in order to save a day to get the cabinets back together. The day the doors arrived, typical process was followed. Cabinets hung quickly. The Cabinets are unbelievable. You couldn't tell they had been painted. A wonderful company to work with. There was a lot of positive energy and you could tell they liked their jobs. 2. Paint family room. We fell behind on our to do list and didn't have time to paint our family room. We called Julie and explained the situation. She came over that night with the painter and discussed what needed to be done. He arrived on time the next morning. He got started and just kept going. Now the walls and trim are done While he was painting he had a smile and enjoyed the work .He did a great job on the walls. I can't call any other company for painting when Women at Work has a great team of professional painters ready to do it right.

The whole process was as smooth as could be. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, professional and did exactly as they said they would. Even with our having to reschedule because of a delay with other work we were having done, they were easy to work with and very accommodating. I highly recommend Women at Work. Women at Work are the best painters that I could ever imagine! Julie and Barb are two of the warmest, most hardworking and honest business owners that I have ever worked with. Their staff of painters are just as amazing and their level of professionalism is superior. When I first met Julie she felt like a lifelong friend - even like a family member! It felt the same way with Barb. I highly recommend Women at Work, not just for their outstanding painting, but also for their integrity and warmth - qualities that matter even more than the color on your walls.

Worst experience with “professionals” ever…. From an abundant lack of communication, to a lackluster job at painting, this whole situation makes me sick to my stomach. Painters were messy, inattentive, and overall, just slobs. Came home the first day to find toilets unflushed, with urine and hair on the seats, globs of “mud” on remote controls, floors, and blinds, and they had even done this terrible job of clean up by using our cleaning supplies and not their own. Barely primed surfaces and wanted to charge for extra coats of paint, left bleed through where they only did one coat of paint instead of two, skipped some areas altogether like sides of bannisters and the wall on the outside of our stairwell. Damaged the flooring on the 2nd floor landing with their ladder and blamed it on the poor quality work of an actual professional who installed it. Sloppy workmanship with edging at ceiling, window frames, outlets, and light switches. Actually painted ceiling in a room not on estimate, even though they had two copies of the work order as well as a physical copy on the kitchen counter for them if they had any questions. This list is by no means all inclusive.

The money we spent with Women At Work was the best investment me made in our entire kitchen redecoration. The work was top notch, the materials highest quality; and the workers the most professional and most competent I have ever hired. Start to finish, Barb and her crew were more than we could have hoped for.

Women At Work did an outstanding job. Our cabinets look amazing. They were on time and followed through on everything they said. The quality of work was excellent and everyone involved on the project was very friendly. I will look to hire them again for future projects.

We discussed the job we were hiring for in its entirety, and we hired. The company painted the cabinets, then took on another job before they did the more complex piece of our project (the stairs), which I can only assume was a more profitable opportunity for them. When we inquired when they were going to finish, they said it would be over a month, as this other project was now going to take priority. We are now left high and dry, seeking help from another contractor. Terrible.

I tried contacting Women At Work several times, through Angie's List on the internet and via phone. On the occasions I called on phone, I left a message each time asking to be contacted so I could speak with them about a painting estimate for by summer lake house. On no occasion did I ever receive a response of any kind. This occurred over a stretch of about 45 days, so there was certainly an opportunity to respond to me. If they had been late but offered a reasonable explanation it wouldn't have bothered me. I'm just not sure if the reason for no reply is technical, personal reasons on the part of the owner which is certainly understandable and excusable, or at worst, simply a complete lack of understanding of the concept of customer service and ineptitude. I wouldn't respond now to a call if it came; I've engaged a competitor who completely understands my requirements and who more appropriately fits with my desires and expectations for a working relationship. I'm not sure what went wrong or what's going on, but buyer beware, this isn't the way I expect business to be done, I don't think you would want to put up with it either.

We had heard good things about Women at Work, so we first tried contacting them this past winter to see about setting up an estimate. We were told to contact them again in March. We did as instructed, and this time were told that someone would come by the house to have a look and that they would leave an estimate in the mailbox. We never received an estimate. We tried a third time, and then moved on. If for some reason Women at Work was unable to take on our job we would have respected that. But by not saying anything, and leading us on they wasted our time and effort.

They were wonderful and accommodating to my family’s crazy schedule. Excellent with communication. We are very happy with our “new” cabinets!

From start to finish the Women at Work crew were fantastic. ( there are some guys, too!) We were impressed with their speed and neatness, without too much disruption to our household. We are especially in love with our newly painted cupboards - I feel like I have a brand new kitchen! The next time we have a painting project I would not hesitate to call them.
