We were very happy with our experience with Dave Goldberg plumbing. They responded quickly to our call, and had Terry over at the house the next day. Although we only called to have our washing machine connections repaired, Terry also tightened up a leaky exterior faucet for us (no charge!) and answered a number of questions that had stumped previous visitors to our house (like "What the heck does this pipe do? It doesn't seem to go anywhere!). Terry was very quick and efficient - had the new valve stem on in a matter of minutes - and was very friendly and professional. He was also able to diagnose a problem with our other (non-functioning) exterior faucet, and was able to recommend a surprisingly cheap solution. Overall, a great experience! Price is a little high, but you know it'll get done right. These guys know their stuff.

Dave was on the scene the day after being contacted. He was able to determine what the problem was and to correct iit is a very professinal manner. Another Peeksskill area vendor whose name and telephone numbetr I have added to my contact list.

They were incredibly responsive to the point of calling me right before they arrived.

The plumber they sent was very helpful. He did the job professionally and with care. The end result was a new shower valve that worked well.

Oil company was servicing the furnace and oil heater and noticed that one of the water heaters was leaking and another(I have two adjacent apt. houses) had a corroded fitting that would be difficult to replace. My plumber was there the following day and he suggested that he could not do the job but it would be best to call the oil co. to have the heaters replaced. Oil company gave me a bid of $4600 and would not give me a discount on two heaters. Went to the yellow pages and came across Dave Goldberg which gave me a quote over the phone of $3400 for the Bock 70 gallon model. Terry from Goldberg came out the following day and looked at both of the old heaters and agreed that they needed to be replaced. Terry gave me a $300 discount on the 2nd heater so my total bill was $6500. When could they do it? 8:30 to 9:00 the following day. Sure enough by 8:45 2 trucks arrived with 4 men who completed the job by 1:00 PM. No hassles, no problems. Totally professional.

They are very good. They are responsive and responsible. They provide very good service.

It is now May 2009 and the faucet was leaking from the back when we turned it on. We called another plumber who is highly rated on Angie's List because we had a bad experience with Goldberg at our condominium in Jefferson Village. (He wouldn't make an appointment to come out to the unit until he found out where the main shutoff valve was. He never came out to look for it so we called someone else.) Anyway, when the plumber came out in May 2009, he found the faucet Goldberg had put in was not a frost free one, as they had told me they were installing.

Two plumbers came. They were prompt, neat, knowledgable and very nice. Even when they conversed with you, they continued to work. This company was referred to us by a local person. I looked them up on Angie's List. I found their older reports to be very negative but the recent reports were positive. Something changed because I had a very good experience.

This is about the fourth time I am changing valves by the same company.

I have used this company for the past fifteen years. You can depend on them to show up on time and do the work that you need. They have good prices and reliable service.

We had an excellent experience, the guy was on time fast and efficient, and I also asked him to check some other things while he was here and we was a very good help.

It was kind of mixed. The installation work was great! The guys did a good job. The office work was confusing. We didn't an itemized receipt which I would've liked to have.

They did an excellent job! We have used them several times and will use them again. I would recommend them.

Neat, friendly professional plumber was sent by the company. I called in the morning and he was there by 1. I have used this company several times and they always do very good work.

This business has been around for long time. They offer quality, professional, honest, and friendly service. They are a neighborhood plumbing company that is well recognized in the area. They do not overcharge and only complete repairs as necessary. For this service, they came on time.

Shower head and pipe work was very good. Sink sprayer was installed incorrectly so that hose does not extend full length. Leaking of pipe corrected. Absolutely the WORST job in connecting the new sink and plumbing to the new vanity. No less than 3 different plumbers AND the owner on three different visits could not get the new pipes to stop leaking. We called another plumber and found out the problem was as simple as they did not anchor the vanity to the wall, so that every time one used the sink, the pipe connections would shift and the pipes would leak. This cost us an extra $1,000. It appears everyone is in training as if it was a school for future would-be plumbers; but the owner was just as incompetent!

I would say this is a good company, but I would advise finding a repair guy that you like with them and requesting that guy to work with. I think that is what I will do in the future. In general, they are good at problem solving. I also have used them in the past to put in appliances for me at times when I have replaced them and they are good at that type of work too.

They rescheduled on us 3 times. Each time, we received a call after the 4 hour window for when we had to sit at home waiting for them. The second and third times, we called to confirm first thing and got confirmation that they were coming on time. When they finally came the third time (hours late), the plumber they sent said they couldn't get the work done that day and would have to come back again. At this point we had wasted so much time and this was completely unacceptable. So we told them that we were done with them and they should leave. The plumber then tried to charge us for the "visit" and only left without charging after we escalated to their management.

We just purchased a house (approx. 13 year old house) and after a very cold winter noticed that the "freeze proof" spigot in the back of the house must have frozen and caused a leak inside the wall of our finished basement. DGP was recommended by a neighbor so we called and they came to fix the leak. The plumber they sent was not professional, not clean and ultimately completed work that I had to pay another plumber to fix after my basement flooded the following year. Similarly, the hose in the kitchen sink also leaked and ruined a cabinet below the sink. This leak too had to be fixed by another plumber. Needless to say, I would never use DGP again nor would I recommend this company to anyone.

We wanted the washer/dryer hookup moved from the first floor to the basement, which necessitated a plumber and electrician. We were new to the area and did not know about Angie's List and looked in the Yellow Pages for geographically desirable plumbers. The dryer is a gas dryer. We contacted Dave Goldberg, who came out to give us an estimate. His cost to come out just to give an estimate was $150. He said he could do the work. When we called to retain his services however, his receptionist said that he would not obtain the necessary permits. We asked if he was a licensed plumber and she said yes, but would not give us his license number so that we could verify. We said that was unacceptable and that permits and inspection are very necessary if someone is dealing with a gas line, particularly in a home! The response was ''Who's to know? No permits. This is not someone we felt comfortable dealing with. We used another plumber, who was more expensive, but who obtained the permits.

I called on Saturday afternoon for a Sunday appointment. It took several hours for a return call. They agreed to noon on Sunday. I called at 2PM and was told the plumber was on his way. He just had stopped for parts. I called again at 4PM, and after having waited 4 hours was told they weren't coming. It was too late in the day to find another plumber so we rescheduled for 6PM Monday. I received a call from them around noon on Monday that they ''don't do evening appointments''. I asked why the receptionist agreed to it the day before and received a non-response. They said the next time they could come would be the following Saturday. I did not make the appointment.

They told me that I should get them replaced. I think they should've given me some alternatives.
