Mister Sparky Electric - Suffolk

Two people came out. They just gave me an estimate. It took maybe about 45 min. They checked every outlet in the house. They gave me a written report and prices of how much it would cost for different services. They were very thorough and professional. They followed up with me about 2 weeks later to check in.

Mr. Sparky Tech Joe arrived promptly and exactly when they said he would (yes this is true). Mr. Sparky gave me a 3 hr window of time, then they called me, to tell me that the technician will be arriving within the hour. They also gave me the name of the technician who was to show up at my door. When Joe arrived (on time) at my door, he had placed a Mr. Sparky mat down and was placing disposable booties on his feet before he even walked into my house. He introduced himself and asked some follow up questions to our problem. We had blown a fuse in our bedroom that had also made several other lights/outlets non-functional. I showed Joe the issue and he started to diagnose the problem. After Joe was able to figure out the original problem and fix it, I asked about providing some other electrical needs. Joe was able to install a Motion Sensor Light outside our house, he upgraded all of our electrical outlets in our Kitchen to be up to "Code". He was able to fix a light switch for us that has existed, but was never hooked up to anything. He was also able to fix a light in our garage. He had to access our attic, go into multiple rooms to figure out the original issue. Joe completed a visual inspection of our house as well as a visual inspection of our electrical box to make sure there were no other issues waiting to happen. Joe was able to complete everything in a timely manner; with two 2 yo's running around him; not an easy feat. Joe had everything on the truck and never said no to anything I requested. All of the work he did has a 2 year warranty. I highly recommend Mr. Sparky Electric to anyone in the area that needs an electrician. The exceptional service they provide can't be beat!

Ed arrived early and was very informative about the work he was going to perform as part of the package. Did complete walkthrough of the house and he explained everything he observed. Did not find anything that needed immediate attention. However his final list amounted to $4400. We are planning on reviewing the list and determining next steps.

My experience went very well. He did a good job. He did not rush the appointment. He came on time for the appointment. Everything turned out the way it was supposed to go.

I called Mister Sparky to get an estimate on running an electric line out to the front of my house. They were very responsive and had someone out to take a look the next day. I can't comment on the quality of their work, but the gentleman that came was very friendly and professional. The sole reason we decided not to use them is their pricing is way too high. I'm not one who typically makes decisions on price alone, but it was so far out there I could not even begin to think of using them. Essentially, they wanted $500 for them to rent a trencher and another $1,500 for them to use it to dig a 55ft trench. So it would have costed my $2,000 just have have a line trenched 55ft. To add insult, they charged me a $65 fee to come out and give this estimate. I got another reputable, fully licensed company to come and they did the same project for 1/3 of the price.

They did a great job. He was very nice.

Joseph Ferrari Jr was our electrician. I was not there at the time but my painter/friend was and he said he was very professional, and very neat. I talked to him on the phone. In our initial talk he gave me a range of prices it would be depending on how long it would take him to find the problem and fix it. I thought this was fair. He found the problem in a little over an hour and charged in the middle price of the 3 prices he gave me. Again very fair. He was straightforward and honest and I would call on him again.

Excessive extra costs. Wanted additional $650 after the $111 I had already paid through Angie's List for the Big Deal to change two bad switches and install a light fixture!! They gave me a hard sell on an annual service contract for 45 minutes. This was like a timeshare presentation without the gift at the end. Two electricians showed up which I thought was unnecessary. I was expecting an electrician to show up with tools and complete the work.

Two electricians showed up on time and were professional, neat and courteous. I would definitely use them again.

I looked on Angie's List for a grade A electrician. I came across Mister Sparky and they had this Big Deal where I could get $199 for $111 service. I knew it would be more than $199 for the service I needed for hooking up a recently purchased hot tub. When the technician came and look at what was necessary to do the job, he came up with a shopping list of what was needed and a la cart pricing. To my shock the price was outrageously prohibitive. The price was $3,051, I don't know about their work it could be great. But if smart people get estimates before they buy " Big Deals" they won't have try to get there money back. If cost doesn't matter pick Mister Sparky, if it does don't. I got the job done for $550. Angie's List customer service was very nice and is going to return my $111.

They contacted me for scheduling after I had purchased the deal and it was really good. The technician was very professional, neat, and wore booties over his shoes when in my house. I ended up paying an additional $100 for the work. Instead of basing the time that the technician was there, they base it upon the time they have already assigned for lighting installation jobs. One technician came out for the work and was there for about an hour and a half. Most of time was spent analyzing the job and writing out an estimate and pitching having them re-do my entire electrical system. The job of installing and replacing the lighting fixtures did not take long at all. I had thought that I wouldn’t even use the full $299 included in the deal for the work. They did a professional job on the work and the lights work fine.

The electricians were very professional. They were prompt and went out of their way to finish in a timely manner. I was very confident that they were competent and their work was neat and thorough. I was very happy with the results. The price was competitive. I would recommend this company anytime.

They were excellent. He called before he got here, arrived early, and did a great job. The service man was very professional. I had purchased a Big Deal previously from a different electrical company and did not feel comfortable with their results. Thank goodness for Mr Sparky, they found issues that left un-handled could be detrimental to my home.

The person who came was so pleasant and on time! The work was done meticulously and in a short period of time. I didn't have to wait long for an appointment and they came at exactly the time that was scheduled. I would recommend the to anyone.

I apologize for my previous mistake in rating Mr. Sparky. I confused the A-F code and did it backwards. I appreciated the door mat, booties and promptness of the electrician who arrived at my house. In addition he did an excellent job of checking out my entire electrical system.

I purchased a deal of $199 worth of services for $111. Before purchasing, I called up company and asked them how I should know if I'm getting a good value, since I don't know what their specific rates are. This company told me I needed to trust their reputation since they have been in business for so long. They came promptly to my rental property and called me, as instructed with a price quote. They quoted me $1200 for a job that I knew was almost 3x hire than it should be. I called up a licensed electrician in the area, while this company was waiting at my house, and got a verbal quote for $420 to do the same job. I sent this company home and am requesting a full refund for this deal, as $111 for $199 means nothing when you charge $1200 for a $420 job. In case there are any disputes, the actual job was to replace outdated 20 outlets (2 gfis) and install a hardwired digital thermostat that I had purchased.

These guys are very professional. Joe and Ryan came right on time (actually 10 minutes early) in their big, red, well-equipoed Mister Sparky truck . Both techs were clean and uniformed. They put a mat down inside my door and booties on their feet every time the entered the house from the outside. Joe was very helpful in expalaining what he found during the inspection, what needed to be done and why. He offered options, and together we decided what would be done that day, and what could be put-off, accordinag to urgency. A little pricy, but I would certainly use them again, and I highly recommend them to others..

Did everything that was expected according to code. He was timely, and provided next day service. He was neat and professional and cooperative. He was willing to do all that I wanted done without exception. He was a little on the expensive side but there was travel time involved. You get what you pay for and I was pleased.

Ed, our serviceman, was right on time, personable, and professional. It was a very quick job, finished in approximately 5-10 minutes. I know electricians are expensive, but charging $220 for a less than 10 minute job seemed...excessive. Luckily we had an Angie's List coupon which softened the blow a bit. Updated: 07/18/2014 In response to the company's response on May 30, 2014. Yes, the electrician did do a house inspection (part of the $55.00 off coupon we used) which was appreciated. As I stated, Ed was right on time, personable, and professional. No complaints to the quality of service. We appreciate the cost breakdown in your response. We were just commenting on the "project" itself, (not including the inspection which was supposedly free with coupon), $220 for replacing an outlet just seems slightly steep, but we do understand that there was a premium fee for the emergency response since it was the outlet that was feeding our alarm system. Again, we were happy with the service in general. Thanks for your work!

It went excellent. They were on time, courteous, and prompt. I would recommend them.

Joe was very professional and willing to help. The inspection was thorough and I would use them and encourage others to sign up for their service plan.

Pole light had an inoperative photocell. The part is no longer made so with my permission he disconnected the photocell and I now turn the outside pole lights on manually from inside the house on it's original circuit. The TV cable had a faulty connector that was completely replaced. Work performed by Ed and Surge. Ed also performed an electyrical safety check throughout the house at no charge and provided me with a list of corrections that needed to be made with cost estimates for each item. I will address them a couple at a time during the next few months.

Everything turned out well. They were clean and efficient. They also gave me a whole house inspection for free and gave me a lot of pointers.
