+ -1 moreJob 1: The job went extremely well. They had a strong crew directed by experienced guys in every aspect of the various jobs (ranging from roofing to carpentry). Communication was excellent, all my questions/concerns were addressed in a timely manner. Job 2: Very well; we are so pleased.
Description of Work: Job 1: Stripped old shingles, installed new. Checked plywood/replaced as needed. Improved ventilation/pulled back insulation from the eve and secured with baffles. Tore off old "skylights" (plexy glass) and roofed in, then installed new skylights; finished interior around the skylights (cedar tongue and groove). Cut back (rotting) siding at the shingles; finished off. There was additional siding work done aside from this.($15000.) Job 2: Siding (tongue and groove cedar) was tore off and replaced in three sections of the home. In one section, we needed to tear it off to install additional insulation (the pipes would occasionally freeze in the winter). In two other areas, the water drainage was poor and got down behind the siding and started to rot the wood/sheathing. In one case, the siding on a curved ''turret'' and required an unusual (small) width. (They also fixed the draining problem associated with the roof/gutters...see separate report).($2500.)

+ -1 moreVery well. It started (at my request) by investigating the buckle in a section of the walkway (while they were doing another job). Once into it, it was clear that time and moisture had taken its toll (it was rotting). It would be cheaper to take the entire structure down now that to rebuild it one section at a time over time. After discussing all the various options (they had alot of good suggestions to improve the strength of the construction while maintaining the unusual design (done by an architect in the '80s), we agreed on the course/scope of work (and the price). We are very pleased with the results (it looks better than the original as there are no seams/butts in the floor planks [on the diagonal]). This was money that was well invested.
Description of Work: Tore down and reconstructed a suspended wooden walkway (tongue and grove cedar siding both inside and out).
