Kevin from R&W showed up on time for the quote. Very thorough and very prescriptive telling me what grade of asphalt to use and how the installation should be done. Not the least expensive but definitely the most detailed quote of the work to be performed. They came on time on 9/30 and tore out the old driveway and installed crushed stone and did a preliminary grading. After driving on the crushed stone for several weeks they came (on time) and laid down the new driveway. Incredible machinery and a team of about 5 or 6 guys. Hard working, attention to detail, and very courteous. I have recommended R&W to MANY people and will continue to do so. The driveway looks FANTASTIC and their workmanship shows. It was a long process, they had roughly three or four employees with big machines. They pouring was done in one day but it needed to dry. They were very professional and punctual. They did give me a good price. They were fair in the assessment of the job and completed the job for me.

After a "settling period" (we could use the driveway the whole time) we set a date for paving and again they arrived right on time. The large crew worked very quickly and efficiently & had the job finished in about 3 hours. We did have to avoid driving on it for a couple of days but that was not a big problem. Everyone on the job and in the office that I dealt with was totally professional and great to deal with. I would absolutely recommend them and use them again if the need arises.

They were on time and the prices were reasonable. The work was done well. They did a great job and afterwards a few of the guys came over to make sure we were satisfied and that we did not have any questions. We have a section of concrete on the side of the home that goes right up against the driveway and they raised that up so the driveway would be even with that. This was to prevent water getting in to the garage. They made sure that I was okay with each process of the work and they let me know exactly what was going on. I was very comfortable with them providing the service.

Dealing with R&W Paving was an enjoyable experience. Kevin Bucklin (Engineering & Design) provided me with estimates for several different alternatives. They were a bit delayed due to inclement weather, but when they said they would be their to pave, they were there on time. I was especially impressed by the professionalism exemplified by the R&W employees who paved the driveway. Each had their own particular responsibility and went about completing the paving without any delay. They were respectful of the property and left the job site in excellent condition. I would definitely recommend this business to others in my area.

Everything went well.The base was prepared first and they came back 3 weeks later to lay down the asphalt.There was a three week time span between the two, partly dictated by the weather. Their office staff was polite and knowledgeable. They alerted us to their arrival and arrived when they said they would. They provided detailed instructions about the future care of the driveway. The workers were courteous. I compared pricing with one other outfit and they were comparable.

They were professional and their work was excellent but I feel their price was somewhat high for the small area of our driveway. Plus they provide us three year contract that no other contractor provided. So, I felt that because of that that they guarantee the work for three years, the driveway for three years and it was worth going with the high price. Overall I'm satisfied with their service. I would recommend them to other people.

We actually scheduled this work in the fall of 2012, but do to the weather, we decided to push the work until the spring of 2013, and I asked for them to schedule me some time after April 19, my Husband's birthday, knowing I would be busy planning his 30th birthday party. They called on the following Monday, I was very pleased! We got delayed two days because of rain, but they made up for it in the quick work of the demo and addition of gravel. We were very pleased overall, and would suggest them to other home-owners. My only note to others is that they use an answering service during the day, and will return your calls in the evenings, this sometimes was hard for me to because I'm not always with my phone once I get home from work. After a little phone tag, the company contact was nice enough to give me her cell so we wouldn't keep missing each other. All in all, I was extremely pleased with the whole experience on such an expensive item. Thank you!

They tore out my driveway, re-leveled it and resurfaced it. They did a great job and were very clean about it. I have not had any problems with cracking or anything else and I have not had to contact them since the paving.

After seeing the neighbors replace their driveways, I decided it was about time to do mine as well. Especially since our properties are on a slight upslope from the street, and with the storm gutter, there is enough of a bump at the bottom that some vehicles bottom out trying to get in. As I said, I had watched the neighbors driveways being replaced and thought I knew what to expect...so after getting three estimates, one from the company that did a neighbor's driveway, and finding them all within just a couple of hundred dollars of each other, I decided to go with the middle estimate, which also happened to be the largest company, R&W Paving (they also do parking lots and malls in this part of New York State as well as private drives). First, I was surprised that they would not do it in one day as the others had done. After removing the old driveway, and resizing, laying gravel, leveling (and shaping it the way I wanted) and rolling it, they wanted to let it sit for at least three weeks, and hope we get a couple of good rains in that period to help compact it further. They wanted me to drive on it as much as possible during that time. They explained that not doing this was the reason that many driveways have sink holes and imperfections that show up a few years after the work was done. We did get a substantial rain! Yesterday, they came back to finish the job...and brought enough men and machines to do a parking lot! Their equipment was parked almost the full length of our street, from my house (third house on the street) to the cul-de-sac, 5 houses up! They had three different sized rollers, the paving machine itslef, two tractors and a number of trucks to haul the equipment, the asphalt and the 7 men who were to do the work. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the work, and the professionalism of the workers. They had obviously done this before and knew what they were doing, working well as a team. For example, staging equipment before they started so it would be in the right place when it was needed. They had all worked for the company for many years (except for one "trainee") and looked like they enjoyed what they were doing. After leveling the gravel, and measuring the sides so they would have straight lines, they rolled the gravel, they used the paving machine to lay a "skim coat" of asphalt over it and rolled it again. Then they detailed the edges and along the garage floor edge by hand, and finally brought in the paving machine for the top coat. The operator of the machine drove it very slowly, constantly adjusting the depth and sides of the machine to spread a level, even layer of asphalt right to the marked sides. They carefully laid and rolled it level to the street gutters, removing the "bump" that had been there for 40 years! They also made sure to slope slightly away from the garage so water would run away from the door. They also built little "dams" to compensate for the slope in the garage floor near the edges so that water wouldn't run in. They used a power blower to clean up after they were done and even cleaned the street under the trucks before they left. When finished, unlike the other neighbor's driveways, I was told not to drive on it for 10 days, as the asphalt doesn't harden enough in that time to be able to prevent eventual tire marks and depressions. They said that three days the neighbors were told is never enough. They guarantee it for 3 years... Looks great...better than I expected. Their work ethic, preparation and finishing was much better than what I witnessed on the neighbor's driveways, and the price was very competitive. Especially for the vastly superior work I witnessed. Not to mention that they were all very friendly, easy to talk to, and were willing to make adjustments as i saw fit to request them, or explain why my idea might cause future problems. If you want a quality, long lasting, well guaranteed job, call R&W...

Called three providers on a Sunday and left voice message requesting a return call to set up date for driveway repair estimate. Two called back. R&W did not. I was surprised because they had good marks on Angie's list. Went with Hub Langie Paving. They did a great job.

The job went perfectly! They came when promised and all of the workers who were at my house for this job were polite and professional. When the job was finished, Kevin went over the warranty and "care" recommendations with me. The workers cleaned up when the job was completed and the driveway looks beautiful! This job was a continuation of our driveway saga last summer and fall (see other reviews). By the time R&W contracted the job, the weather became too unpredictable in western NY so they asked to negotiate the time frame for the job--deferring it until spring 2013, and they guaranteed the quoted price. April, 2013 arrived and R&W was prompt in contacting us regarding time frame, adhered to the quoted time frame and did a visually excellent job. The job required complete removal of the poor quality ( done four years ago by Cardwell Construction Co) asphalt drive way (30 foot wide), replacement of base stone, compaction, and R&Ws asphalt product. It looks great and the only recommendation is to have it sealed every two years. We were very pleased with their customer service--from initial contact and recommendation to completed work--and the quality of the work. R&W also provided a one year guarantee. Will definitely recommend!

Very nice man came out to give us an estimate and then told us they don't do concrete even though they are listed under concrete driveways. We did ask him for an estimate to replace with asphalt which he provided and we talked about the pros and cons of each. He was very knowledgable and patient and didn't mind spending some time with us even though we had made up our minds to go with concrete. Would definitely hire them if we change our minds.

We had got some quotes and they had one of the best quotes. They came over and did everything exactly the way we asked. Everything was neat and clean. There was no mess on our lawn in any way shape or form. They were awesome. They came in and did it in two days just like they said they would. They did a beautiful job and there was no mess at all on our lawn.
