I have used Design Air for my heating and air conditioning and have never been disappointed. They installed my furnace a couple of years ago and my air conditioning almost 10 years ago. They have serviced both yearly and I plan on calling them next year.

They put it in the time they quoted. They were clean. The system is working very well. Their prices were competitive.

much bette than expected. everything they did was perfect!! it was a big job. they had to remove all the old air handlers and compressors then replace them with new units. additionally they added a new system to the master bedroom call HVAC. it is able to cool a room that was never cooled efficiently with the old system. They were prompt clean courteous and capable. the price was slightly higher than the other estimates but worth it. I highly recommend this company.

Design Air Inc is reliable. I think they're reasonably priced but I haven't compared them to somebody else. The guys are the best. They are knowledgeable, courteous, reliable and friendly. They have everything you want in a service.

I had already planned to replace my existing HVAC system prior to the emergency. i contacted Design Air on a Monday and my complete system was installed and operational on Wednesday. Design Air obtained all permits from the town (I paid the permit fees) and managed to give me what I wanted in the limited space of the Condo closet. They fabricated duct work within the closet to accommodate the media filter which I really wanted since I planed on keeping the furnace fan on a low setting 24/7 to equalize the temperature and cleanse the air of my Duplex Condo. Their installers were polite, professional, and really seemed care about what they were doing. They were thorough, neat, accommodating and always punctual. They corrected and brought up to code other issues related to the hot water heater which were not up to code but shared the same closet. The Design Air representative Rich came back with an electrician and between them thoroughly inspected every aspect of the installation, even checking things they never touched. If they had questions they contacted another person who came and did some other work outside to assure that all building codes were met. This was totally a turnkey operation, all the footwork was done by Design Air including the processing of the Costco rebate and the state rebate for the installation of a high efficiency air conditioner. They even picked up my check to pay the town permit fees at the completion of the job since it was gone on an emergency basis. I feel that I received the greatest value both in equipment and service for my money. I give Design Air my highest praise, It is hard to find this level of service anywhere anymore and yet, there it was right in my own home.

I checked Angie's List for both a recommendation & a rating. I called Design Air (straight A's), set up an appointment, about 3 weeks (which was actually less than 2 other companies I had called). The technician was prompt, profesional, friendly, knowledgable, capable, and neat. I took quite awhile, but our fireplace was fixed and we were warm & toasty once again! We would absolutely use Design Air again!

Primarily the work was a Unico system upgrade. Installing a hot water coil in the air handler and adding a staged zone. Rich specified the parts and upgrade and oversaw the work. Works great provides great improvement in comfort and efficiency. Rich did his homework and it showed in how quickly the upgrade took place and worked without a hitch. I have been using Design Air for all of my HVAC needs for almost 10 years. I have a fairly sophisticated system, split A/C, munchkin boiler, unico air handler, steam humidifier, electronic air cleaner, outside air refresher etc. They have installed or replaced all of the major components as part of a major HVAC upgrade. Overall they have kept my system in top shape. There have been a few hiccups and an occasional mistake but they have always resolved things quickly and fairly.

Excellent job overall. The company gave me several choices, I went with the cheaper solution which was a better quote than the other guys in Washingtonville, NY. Also, the equipment offered by Design Air was a better quality name brand. The work was done in 2 days as promised. The system works as described, I am happy with the equipment, work, clean-up, and instructions. I would definitly recommend them for your HVAC needs. Thanks AngieList members!

The Design Air people were very responsive and willing to work with me to get the best result. They came out the day I called, and scheduled me in for replacement very quickly. Within 5 days (3 business days) of my first call, they installed the new unit. All the people I dealt with were very professional and competent.12 years ago when I had my original A/C installed, I got estimates from 3 vendors, including Design Air, but I foolishly chose someone else to do the install. I have regretted that ever since. Glad I now have most of my A/C system replaced by Design Air.I have used Design Air in the past several times. I had them replace my boiler & hot water heater in 2008, with a highly efficient one, and I had them do some house/attic sealing work in 2009, and some repair on my old A/C in later 2009. In all cases I have been very satisfied with the results. They do quality work, and I am willing to pay the fair price for that work. [When you pay less, you get what you pay for.] Besides the high quality, the other thing that I like about them the most is that their people are willing to work with me and help figure out the best solution. For example, they were very helpful in providing different priced options (repair, replace, and different price levels of air handlers). I then did some research online, and called them back the next day. This helped me choose the optimal solution. It helps a lot to be a customer who knows what they are looking for. Someday when my old compressor (outdoor unit) fails, I will almost certainly have Design Air back to replace it with a high-quality Lennox unit. It helps a lot to know what you want. 3 bits of advice for A/C-buyers: 1) buy the smallest (lowest tonnage) compressor/condenser (outdoor unit) that will possibly work, no matter what any salesman suggests. That will cost less, will lower the indoor air humidity to a much better degree, and save electricity. [This is because it will run for a much longer time per day at a lower speed.] 2) The other thing I strongly recommend is to pay a little more to get a variable-speed (DC) air handler (attic), because it is much quieter and much more efficient. [For a variable speed air handler, a little over-sizing is not a problem because it can run at lower speeds, and speed is also adjustable by the installer on the Lennox unit.] 3)The final thing I recommend is to get the house sealed up by Design Air, especially between the top floor celiing and the attic. [This will stop air movement into the attic, and save you a lot of money on A/C & heat both. It also cuts down on moisture moving into the attic in the winter and condensing/freezing up there. Sealing/insulating also allows you to down-size the outside compressor unit by 1/2 - 1 ton or so below the normal sizing guidelines.]

They did their work very well, and I really like their installers. I went with them because of their reputation. As far as service, their price was a little higher than other people, but I was willing to forego that because they back their workmanship up with their service

Design Air came to do a yearly checkup on our air conditioning system in our house, and found that the attic ventilation fan was inoperative, and dome was missing, leaving a large hole in our roof. Within an hour, he arranged to have other technicians replace the fan and repair the roof, as heavy rain was expected for the following day. Very pleased with the professionally and speed that the work was done.

Great company. Took the job start to finish, I will definitely recommend.

Make sure the person who comes in your home is licensed. I don't think my technician knew what he was doing. After hiring them, I have had problems with the air quality in my home ever since. I have even hired other air quality specialists and installed a new humidifier but still see particle and dust floating in the air. And I am still concerned about the air quality.

We had a service person call on us for the latest problem with our 25+ year old system. He pointed out the costs of repair vs replacement. We agreed that the time had come to get a new system. The salesman discussed our options with us. At no time did we feel that we were pressured. We agreed upon a schedule to have the work done, The installation guys showed up promptly and got the job done in record time. This is a very top notch outfit. There was a problem that we had with the airflow in one of the vents with the new system. They were able to make an adjustment on the spot to fix the problem. We are very happy with the work that was done,

The company representatives were professional and friendly from start to finish. This was an expensive project and they worked with us giving a good price for excellent service. The workers arrived on time and made sure we were completely satisfied before they left the house. All in all a very good experience.

They are quite reputable. They were timely and efficient. They are top dollar when it comes to price.

They replacements turned out fine and have been working great. They prompt, professional, and courteous.

From start to finish every single person we worked with from the company was professional, knowledgable and all around nice. They came when they said they would, no hidden fees, followed up with us if we had an issue and did quality work. We have NEVER worked with an organzation on so many projects and had such consistent positive experiences.

At the suggestion of my neighbors, I called Design Air to check my heating/ cooling system before I fired it up for the summer. When the technician came, he turned it on and after 5 minutes of blasting cool air, the system just shut off. According to his diagnosis, I needed a new circuit board. He couldn't give me or my husband an estimate so he called into the home office. The office calls him back, he puts them on speaker phone and a gentleman tells us that the part would cost $505 plus tax and on top of that I would still have to pay for labor. The technician tells my husband that Design Air would guarantee us the lowest price. When my husband suggested we install a brand new unit, the tech tells us that would cost thousands. With a heat wave about to start, we gave him the $100 deposit and tell him go ahead an order the part. When he left, I got on the internet and did my own research. I called the manufacturer of my heating/cooling unit and only to learn that the cost of the circuit board is $99 but they do not deal directly with home owners! That same day, the tech returns with is $500 part. When I confront him about the $400 mark up, all he can do is stutter that he doesn't set the price, he just installs. He looked so pathetic, I just asked him to leave. My husband called another service company who came in did a top to bottom inspection of our system and found a loose wire. Never again will I use Design Air.

Excellent work. Very professional. Reasonable price. Since that time, I've been saving first on heating & now cooling costs. I realize this is not a hot summer, but I am adjusting for that (Cooling Degree Days), and our cooling electric energy usage is way down.

They do a pretty good job. I have had them come out and do various work for me.

No don'ts. Will continue to use company to service my wonderful new energy efficient heating and air conditioning system.

I usually have them check at my heating and air conditioning unit before the season. They are prompt, and they give 24 hours service. So, I can call them at any time if I need help. Their charges a bit more if I use them on a weekend, but that is understandable. My overall experience with them was good.

I thought they did great. They got it all done in two days, and since then they have followed up every year, and they do maintenance when needed. All of the technicians have been courteous. This is a company that stands out to me that I would recommend to others.
