Magic Stone General Contracting

Repointed my stone foundation in North Buffalo. Had structural issues in the front right corner, so they rebuilt it utilizing the same stone and new matching mortar. Looks great. Have used Magic Stone twice now on two different houses. Always punctual and responsive to questions and follow-up.

From the original meeting and estimate, Kaied Morshed was very professional, punctual and knowledgeable. His crew showed up exactly when they said they would and they rebuilt my chimney in one day. They did a beautiful job and cleaned up my yard even though it was dark by the time they finished. Kaied Morshed, the owner, called the next day to be sure we were happy with the results - which we were. I would absolutely hire them again and would recommend them to anyone who needs this kind of work done.

The work was relatively simple, and done in one day by 3 guys. the weather-proofing was done a few days later, presumably after the work was dry. The work was neat, and looked good, even though the price seemed a bit on the high side.

Owner came out and gave an estimate that was roughly half the price of the competition. They showed up on time, worked quickly, and cleaned up VERY well. We were very happy with the job they did matching the existing brickwork on our 1918 home with a non-standard yellow brick. The masonry repair work is functional, but was kind of a quick repair job. It'll keep the foundation from leaking or breaking, which is what it's intent was. All in all, I would use them again for any masonry or tuckpointing work I might need.

I had water in my basement and had been trying for three years to find a company that could repair the problems for a reasonable price. Several companies told me the work could not be done for less than $11,000.00. I knew that the fix did not have to be as complicated as drain tiles, French drains, sump pumps and high cost. My problem was that too much water was coming through the walls and the water was overrunning the trench on its way to the drain. Kaied Morshed took a look at my basement, listened to what I wanted to accomplish, and came up with a plan that was very sensible with a very reasonable cost. He estimated the amount of time the entire job would take and let me know about when his crew would be able to do the job. On the morning of the work, Kaied called and let me know about when the men would arrive. They arrived promptly. The men were polite and pleasant. Several began to work on the three corners of the basement that needed mortar. One man took care of the outside lintel that had fallen apart. One man began to build a curb around the trench in the basement that was to direct the water into the drain. Towards the end of the work day, the men moved into my living room where they removed brick from a fireplace to help restore the original fireplace. Of course, the work was not simple, yet Kaied came up with solutions to each problem that made the process efficient. This work is messy work - gritty and dusty. The men put rugs on top of plastic sheeting to protect my wooden floors from the grit. They also removed all of the brick and debris. The house was neat when they finished. I have waited to write my review to see if the work would take care of the water problem, and it does! Even after several hard rains, what Kaied suggested has proven to be a wonderful fix! There is no more water running across the floor into the drain. I am so pleased with the workmanship, and the workers' pleasant demeanors, that I will be having them come back to cover the rest of the basement walls - not to keep water out - but to keep the grit from the disintegrating older mortar from causing a dusty basement. I HIGHLY recommend Kaied and Magic Stone!

Calls were returned promptly to schedule estimate. Questions about work to be performed were professionally answered. Start date was scheduled and provider began work on date promised. Work was performed as explained.

I found the entire company and crew to be pleasant, courteous and knowledgeable. My project was scheduled to be completed in half a day. They arrived around 8 and after cleaning up the site were packed up and gone by 1:00. They not only cleaned up my home but they also took the time to clean my neighbor's car (parked very close to the work site). I (as well as my neighbor) were very impressed with Magic Stone's courteousness.

Very professional company. The owner came out to review with me what we wanted done, made good suggestions, discussed options - even drove around the neighborhood with me, to show me a few examples / differences of limestone vs. sandstone deployed. The crew (led by the other co-owner) came by a few days later, as scheduled, and removed the existing bricks, and installed limestone single piece sills on all 7 front windows. They cleaned up after themselves, and showed me the finished work (which looks really nice!), and of course hauled away all the debris old bricks. What I also like, in addition to the actual on-the-job performance, is that they are proud of, and therefore care about, their reputation. This manifests itself in accurate communication and timely follow-up - something that I value a lot in a contractor. I'll hire them again, if I have a stone-project.

I tried calling Magic Stone to get an estimate on having our chimney repaired. I called several times but phone number is out of service. I checked their website and sent an email to the address specified but have not received a response. Magic Stone got back to me today. They are changing locations and their phone line was disconnected. I will be scheduling a time for them to come out to provide an estimate tomorrow.

Efficient clean concrete repair,work.

Price definitely reflected in quality of work. Should have went with the other company. These guys were prompt and overall polite however there lack of skill shows in finial product. Finished walls were uneven and support braces were installed shotty. Think twice about hiring Magic stone for improvements on your home. Don't believe there hype.

So far, so good. I called them for an estimate and they came right out. The price seemed fair. 2 wks later 4-5 men worked from 8:30-4, the work completed in one day, brought all material.They are professional, knew what they were doing, but no warranty

Magic Stone got back to me promptly and were at my property quickly and at a time that was convenient for me. Kaied Morshed, one of the owners of the company, did the initial inspection of the work to be performed and made sure that I understood what the work they would need to perform to correct the problems I had with my foundation. He explained in detail what my options were to correct the problems and make sure that my foundation was structurally sound once the work was completed. I was comfortable that the cost quoted for the proposed work was fair. They showed up as scheduled to start the work and as problems came up during the work they explained what they needed to do, especially if it changed what had been explained during the inspection process, my house is over 130 years old and the foundation is a combination of stone and block and the house has different types of building techniques . The work was completed on time, the work was quality work and I was very happy with finished product. The entire process from start to finish was very pleasant.

Very happy with how the job went. The contractor went above and beyond to make sure everything was properly done and when the job proved to be more involved than initially thought, did what he could to control costs. The quality of the work overall is really good. They matched the look of the existing stucco on the other side of the house pretty well.

Highly recommended! An owner, Kaied, came out for an estimate very promptly and was extremely professional. We felt it was the most thorough of our four estimates on the job and that the estimate was done without cutting corners. They weren't the least expensive option but were significantly cheaper than some. Work began less than a week after finalizing the details. Workers showed up promptly, were extremely friendly/courteous/professional and did a great job. Either Kaied or his brother/co-owner were on site for the entire project. I uncovered a number of additional items that needed to be attended to as the project went on and Kaied was able to accommodate these requests with great flexibility. I felt that great care was taken not to overly inflate the bill as result of these 'add ons.' I wouldn't hesitate to call them again if the need arises.

From start to finish they were fantastic! Prior to the estimate he made sure to call us to let us know about what time he would arrive. Once he got here he listened to how we wanted the rebuild then offered a design option that we never would have thought of. He also reviewed other brick work around our house which needed some slight attention and again offered other options to keep the brick work in the best condition possible for years to come. He then wrote up a thorough estimate while he was here so we didn't have to wait for days. We ended up calling him back immediately to sign a contract because we were so happy with the professionalism and customer service that we knew we couldn't go wrong hiring them. The day of the work he called in the morning to let us know what time they would arrive and made sure to let me know that an owner would be on site for the whole job. We were not able to be at home during the rebuild, but he later called me to let me know how things were going and when the job would be completed. When I return home from work all I can say is it was what we expected but surpassed our expectations by ALOT!!! The design option he recommended ties together the existing brick work with the wall making it look like it had been there all along. Their clean up was perfect. If there wasn't a new wall we wouldn't have even known they were here! We told them how incredibly pleased we were with the whole job and we would recommend them to anyone in a heart beat. We did get 3 estimates and Magic Stone was a little higher but to be fair we did add some extra work which was NOT included in other estimates (nor did anyone recommend any other options) Our belief is you get what you pay for and just because someone may be cheaper doesn't mean its going to be quality work. We cannot say enough positive things about Magic Stone and I feel that an grade of A maybe too low. Thank you Magic Stone. Thank you for your amazing skills, professionalism and customer service!

The service went well. They came, they were prompt, they completed the job, and they cleaned up. I think the price was fair.

Although we contracted for one chimney tear-down and another repointing, plans changed when they discovered deteriorated flu liners in the tear-down chimney. They lined the old terracotta flu with new flexible liners, fashioned a custom-made chimney top and repointed the second chimney. They communicated the problem immediately, explained how, why, and what caused the problem to happen?.even drew a diagram for us. Although the additional work increased the agreed-upon price, they gave us a break on the flu liner. Despite the burned out flu problem, they finished on time, cleaned up our yard and the neighbor's. We are sold on Magic Stone and Angie's List for steering us in their direction.

Both the sill and pet door looks great! I would use this company again if I need brick work in the future.

After making an appointment for an estimate, (both times) I met with the owner Kaied Morshed. MS is a family business, Kaied and his brother are joint owners. Kaied's wife is the office manager. After inspecting the areas needed to be repaired, Kaied sits down to explain the work needed to complete the job. The estimate is detailed and provides every cost and all specifications for the work. Kaied is willing to answer any and all questions. The day the job was to be done I was contacted to let me know if they could proceed with the work because of weather. If the job was postponed, every effort was made to keep me informed as to when the work would be rescheduled. The crew arrived on time and began work promptly. I was glad to see the same men working on this project as the one before. The crew is friendly, wearing MS bright red hoodies, and welcomed my questions.The cleanup is exceptional. They cleanup as they go and come prepared with plenty of buckets to haul away all debris. I would not hesitate to recommend MAGIC STONE to anyone. Their work and customer service is exceptional.
