+ -1 moreI have been a customer of True Value for 2 years now. True Value Security Systems is perfect - their 24/7 monitoring service always works, and the staff is courteous and friendly. Mitchell, the owner, installed the equipment and it has worked the whole time. Whenever I wanted to make slight adjustments to the setup, Mitchell has been highly available to walk me through the changes over the phone. And if that doesn't work, Mitchell comes the next day to correct the problem. He is friendly, highly skilled and full of helpful security tips. I strongly recommend True Value security systems.

I needed a bit of a quirky system installed and Mitchell went above and beyond working out the kinks, including rushing over in a matter of hours and costlessly (to me) upgrading equipment when needed to get the system to work properly.

Description of Work: Several contacts were faulty because of various work I had done. He replaced the contacts and inspected the entire system and ensured the system was working as it should. He arrived promptly and allowed ample time.

+ -1 moreInstallation went well with a few minor adjustments. Cat was tripping motion detector located close to staircase. Some adjustments were made and problem was solved. Problem with signal strength from detectors in detached garage. Repeater was installed in garage and everything worked. Mitchael was here so fast taking care of these problems, that we thought he was waiting just around the corner.

+ -1 moreWe were looking for a surveillance system and found Mitchell on Angie's list. Based on his positive reviews here, we made an inquiry. Within an hour, Mitchell gave us a call and within a few days, he was in our living room explaining the various options to us. While Mitchell had his preferred products and emphasized the importance of paying for quality, he did make efforts to help us to choose products that fit our needs. He was also very accommodating in quickly setting up a day for installation. A few days later, Mitchell and his technician came to install the system. Mitchell's technician did most of the installation and was very personable, professional, and patient. The entire installation took less than a day. The technician made sure to leave the house as clean as it was when he arrived and Mitchell took the time to explain how to use the system before leaving. Overall, we are happy with the service. We did have a minor problem with the system shortly after installation, but Mitchell helped us to resolve it. We are very happy with our system.

He also seems very caring and wanted to make sure we fully understood the system and walked us through the system a couple times. His prices are are on the higher end but well worth the money spent. I would recommend his services to others.

+ 0 moreFrom the moment I called True Value Security Systems I was impressed with the level of professionalism. I spoke to Mitchell and I explained our situation, expecting the response to be that we needed to replace the entire system as we had been told from other providers. Mitchell explained that he would come and look at the problem and see if, 1. if it could be repaired, 2. how he would get us back online, and 3. our costs for monthly monitoring. I explained that the repair/restore was urgent and Mitchell was able to come immediately to evaluate the project. He explained everything in very simple terms, gave us a proposal for the work and a timeframe of when it would be completed. He also notified us of additional charges that may occur if he found the original system to be lacking, which thankfully didn't happen. He was able to work with the system that was in place and so saved us additional costs. We were made very aware of the scale and cost of the work and felt very comfortable that only necessary extra work would be performed. Once we agreed on the price, Mitchell worked with our schedule to get himself and his technician to the building to complete the work. They arrived on time, having called in advance to let me know they were on schedule. The work was done with a minimum of disturbance and they were very neat and tidy. Once the new system was in place, the technician was on hand to train me on the program and he was very professional and knowledgeable. He took a lot of time to ensure I was happy with the program and that I knew how to operate it. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience dealing with True Value and I would not hesitate to recommend them.
Description of Work: Checked and repaired old non-functioning security camera system on a small building. Installed 2 new cameras and got us back up and running online and downloaded the app to our phones.

Everything was outstanding and all the nuances were explained to me in great detail. I am more than satisfied and am now asking Mitchell to review my office security system. After doing research online I went with True Value Security because they use the Honeywell Total Connect System which is top of the line! It enables you to control the system functions from a smart phone. Peter from True Value Security was able to give me an immediate appointment for a consultation and an installation date the same week. They did an excellent detailed installation and I couldn't be more pleased. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a high tech security system at reasonable rates.

+ 0 moreI just moved houses within Nassau County and decided to try a different alarm company for my new house -- without any profound recommendations from friends to work from, I decided to give True Value security a call based on the numerous accolades on Angie's List. The experience I had with True Value exceeded my expectations -- Mitchell Meyer, owner of True Value, was very responsive and spent two hours with me at my future home before I closed to provide an honest assessment of the existing alarm system infrastructure. Mitch did not try to hard sell anything and was very quick to point out that the system I would soon be inheriting was top notch and did not need to be switched out. When I moved in, Mitch and his team (highly recommend Pete) were on site within 24 hours activating my system and installing a few upgrades I was looking for (water leak alarms, integration with the house intercom system, etc). Overall, a great, pleasant experience!

I have taken on a few large jobs in the last week and I am not sure I can fit you in my schedule. You may consider seeking another provider who has the time needed. Mitchell Meyer True Value Security Systems
Description of Work: Provider / Principal, Mitchell Meyer of True Value met at a newly acquired house to have an existing fully functional alarm system upgraded and too include an integrated smart home thermostats (phone app controllable) as well as replacement intercom system. Mitch went to great lengths to talk about Angie's List and how highly rated he was on it. He even brought related photocopies and told me if we purchase we would even be refunded membership on Angie's List (interpret that as you may). Mitch, who is clearly "salesy" made many references of their (True Value Security, his company) and his dedication, professionalism, and concern for the customer despite his personal business interest. Such was offered before and after stopping 10 or so minutes to take a women's credit card over the phone and schmooze some with her as I waited to complete the walk through. When asked to provide a quote for the project he said he would first do the security system, and if I like the prices he would quote the intercom too. He committed to sending a proposal (i.e., a cut and paste email missing basic service fees and any explanation of any item in what seems to be his boiler plate proposal format) a couple of days later. About a week after that due date an email came saying he had been out in the field every day since then, but he would get the quote out on a given day a few days later, which did not happen. A few more days later the aforementioned email cut and paste arrived, which lacked so many basic cost and functionality details. Long story shortened, I pulled out various additional costs (in this case $15 - $19 month) that had not been listed, and I understood a bit more about the host of additional options thrown into the email for good measure. Throughout the process getting responses took days. Then, the email I received came an hour ago (see below). Conclusion, if you’re looking for a simple, low featured system that can quickly and profitably installed (when he can get to it), and you do not mind the “salesy” BS, then maybe Mitch and True Value Security ***may*** be acceptable. Personally, based on my experience I would not want to be tied to Mitch and his 1-man show for $55 / mo. for 3-years ($40 is his min.), you may choose otherwise.

+ -1 moreMitch is a very no nonsense and straight to the point kind of guy which I like. When I told him my new house had an existing alarm system he was understandably concerned and told me that he cannot guarantee he can update it without looking at it first. I made an appt with him and he showed up right on time. He looked at my existing system and said it was in very good shape and gave me a few options, to update the existing system or go with a brand new wireless system. Now most companies will simply try to upsell me on a new wireless system since it was more costly and easier to put in, but Mitch was more concerned with doing what is in my best interest and thereby keeping me as a customer, so he actually suggested keeping and upgrading my old system. He said my system was in very good shape and that in many ways was superior to even a new system and he had a guy who specializes in old systems such as mine. I told him we will go with upgrading my old system and two weeks later he and his tech guy showed up right on time and spent almost a full day very meticulously going through my old system, upgrading and replacing as necessary and when all is said and done, I have a fully functional and highly secure alarm system that is even better than most new system out there today. Mitch not only gave me great advice and went the extra mile to upgrade my system but also saved me over $1000 by leveraging the system that I had. It actually involved more work for him to do it this way but in the end what is important to him is customer satisfaction and to me that is how a successful business is run. I highly recommend Mitch and his company.
