Went fine for several years. Then out of the blue the alarm started going off for no reason at times. The company missed a scheduled appointment to examine the problem. When he did show up he said an unknown something was causing the problem and gave up. He took the equipment that I was charged $199 to purchase and left me with this: “I am sorry but I have no idea what you would like me to do. I prefer to keep my customers but I don’t do magic. There is nothing for me to fix.”

He came out and fixed it for me. He is excellent in responding and is available whenever you need him. I would highly recommend him.

Not even sure whether annual contract price/payments are lower than Slomin's or any other company. The catch is in customer service. I have to say that Mitchell (owner) really cares about his customers. I'm not saying he is not here to make money and provides good service because he loves humankind... But, he has proven to us through last 3 years that: 1. He is always available if we text or call him with any question 2. He can come to our house with very short notice 3. Mitchell came to our house and explained what we needed and what the charges would be. He was very clear about everything. We agreed to use his services and made an appointment for installation. We have been working with True Value Security System since 2014. Mitchell came to set up the alarm system and he is the only one we have worked with since! TMitchell is always available to answer our questions, and he has come out to our house a to help us with the system. (we replaced our doors and needed him to re activate door alarms). He is always punctual and professional.

He was a true "mensch" - he returned calls quickly, set up a visit immediately and gave us an honest - and not pushy - assessment of what he felt we needed. It aligned with what we had in mind. We appreciated his honesty, and lack of fear tactics (which other sales people had used before) and we love our alarm. It is super easy to use and the one time we had an issue, Mitchell came within 24 hours of us contacting him (our upstairs smoke detector was going off when the steam from the shower reached - Mitchell moved it within 5 minutes at no charge). It is very reassuring knowing that the alarm was installed properly at a competitive price in a very timely manner, and that continual service is provided with the same level of professionalism. Monthly payments are incredibly affordable - even lower than the big companies we researched and the monitoring company is very responsive. We are very pleased and thankful we found True Value - we can sleep more soundly at night knowing our home is protected.

Mitchell was called, he arrived promptly. He evaluated the situation. The trouble was with the dial out modem. Problem corrected and at no charge. Mitchell made my day. I always tense up when a service provider makes a house call.

First of all, he's always answering the phone and you don't have to call again or to leave messages. He listened to us and explained what we should or shouldn't do. We have confidence and peace of mind - finally! What a difference from the previous company that we had! We are glad to have hired such a company with honest and hard working people. I have used True Value Alarm for 14 years. The key factor is trust. . The owner truly wants to make his customers happy, and looks out for their best interest. He provides advice which allows me to save money as opposed to looking for ways to replace or sell me things I don't need. Fair and honest pricing. Work is concise, never had any issues in 14 years. Always reliable .

Mitchell blamed the poor night vision on the new outside lights. The outside lights are not new and are the same ones when he installed the system. My 5 year contract is almost up and he does not want to do the job. Mitchell offered me $300 in credit toward my service contract to take down the negative reviews. I just want the cameras fixed and for him to honor the contract. My payments have been on time for the past 4 years and 6months. This is not the only time I had negative issues with Mitchell but being locked into a 5 year service contract that you can cancel but have to pay 80% of the remaining payments left me with no other choice but to deal with him for 5 years.

Mitch is very personable. He is straightforward. It is such a pleasure to do business with him. We just purchased a home in Long Island. Most people would come in and sell you everything. Mitch, on the other hand, knew the house had an alarm system previously and tried to see if he could use as much of the old alarm system's stuff so we could save money and not spend unnecessary money. Unfortunately, none of the old stuff worked and we had to start from scratch...Mitch took his time to make sure he did the job right. He constantly asked me for my input on where I wanted the wires to go etc. He's not one of those guy that come in and just try to get things done and get out. Not Mitch! He is very detailed oriented. He thinks things through before making a decision. Mitch's alarm system is really awesome. Last time, my husbanded "Armed Stay" the home. I totally forgot about it and decided to open the window. O boy! I triggered the alarm to go off. Within seconds, we received a phone call to make sure everything is alright. By the way, we did it twice with the same immediate response time, LOL! Mitch is always available. He is very dedicated to his clients 200%. He is definitely one in a million. Don't look anywhere else. He's the guy you want to do business with! We plan to have him come back and put more alarms soon since we are in the process of getting a permit to changed a couple of our windows!

The job went very well. I have a large home in Great Neck. The owner of the company, Mitchell Myer was on the job with his assistant, Victor on time as promised. The installation, many contact points, took about an entire work-day. Then Mitchell stayed on and spent another two hours teaching my wife and me how to operate the system. The extra time was amazing. When MItchell left we were very comfortable using the system. One would not get this kind of commitment and personal attention from one of the very large alarm companies. The monitoring is great. Tested them a couple of times....and the response was in about ten seconds .....tough to beat that. I recommend True Value sSecurity Systems to anyone wanting an excellent system at a fair price, and real commitment from the principal of the company.

We had new windows installed on Friday. That day we called Mitch and he was willing to come over with barely a moment's notice to help reinstall our sensors on our windows. As it turns out in all the confusion, the window installers only salvaged one of the two sensors/magnets for the windows so Mitch came over with replacements and installed everything in a matter of minutes. Mitch is always reliable and extremely focused on pleasing his customers - he truly provides personalized service in all that he does. We will continue to use Mitch and recommend him to anyone looking for a home security system.

It aIl went very smoothly. As usual, Mitchell responded almost immediately to our call, made an appointment for the day after the door installation, arrived promptly at the appointment time, and moved the sensor to the new door. As is his M.O., Mitchell was very competent, professional, knowledgeable, and efficient..We'll continue to use Mitchell for our future security needs.

He sounded very rude on the phone when I called him, he made it seem like I needed him more than he needed me. Instead of trying to cater to a new customer he was sounding like he was trying to ask questions that meant he wouldn't be suited for me. The quote he gave me was also not very impressive.

It went exactly as Mitchell explained. The problem I faced was my alarm system periodically made a beeping noise every twelve hours. Not a life-threatening situation but definitely annoying and needed to be fixed. Mitchell explained I could temporarily disconnect the battery and the AC plug, order a new battery. He even went as far as physically describing where the control box is typically located. Again, I was very appreciative of his expert help.

Mitch was very professional and pleasant to deal with. He took the time to explain the system and costs thoroughly. We feel assured we can call on him should any problems occur.

Installation went very well. Mitch and his technician Mr Romero were prompt, efficient and clean in all their work. They asked for my input on all items such as wire placement as well as giving me their recommendations. Mitch was very hands on which is unusual for an owner and very prompt in returning my calls. There were a couple of issues with the equipment but Mitch resolved immediately. Equipment is high quality (Honeywell). Wanted to add a few sensors and Mitch took care of Gratis. Very happy with the system as a whole. Not the cheapest system but when dealing with the security of your house, you do not want to go cheap. Note: high cost also due to the fact that I prepaid for 3 years of monitoring. Would highly recommend Total Security.

This alarm and camera system were set up two years ago in my house; I've waited all this time because I wanted to see whether Mitch, the owner of the company, was true to his word about the installation and follow-up after the installation. I am pleased to report that he is. The system is working very well and Mitch has been in contact with me to check on how things are working. This could wind up as a very lengthy review, but to keep it brief, here are highlights: 1. The installation took place on the day and time scheduled, which was Labor Day weekend of 2013, on a Saturday. Mitch and his technician were on time. 2. Mitch and his technician spent the entire day installing both the camera system and the alarm system; they were very careful during the installation regarding wall mounts, wires and the keypad. At each step of the way, they explained what they were doing, giving me options, where available, regarding how installation might proceed. 3. Following their work, both Mitch and the camera technician explained how all components worked; they walked me through several practices with the keypad for the alarm and the 'how to' of the recording system for the cameras. When they left, I felt confident enough to alarm and disarm the system without major problems. 4. During installation, Mitch discovered that a previous alarm system in the house was still active and connected to my telephone line. He explained this to me, including how the new system would tie-in to the former line with the update to the new system. This was very helpful information for me. 5. Mitch followed up on a regular basis with me in the weeks following all this work, including a service call or two to fix a few glitches in the system. He also followed up with phone calls well after the installation (including a full year later) to check on how things were working. 6. Whenever I have needed to contact Mitch, he has responded immediately to questions and concerns. My only quibble with this installation was the ultimate price, which was caused by the long hours it took to put the entire system in; they were here for almost 12 hours. While this additional labor charge did upset me at the time, Mitch included a free smoke-detector tied to the alarm system, and he has remained true to his word regarding service and follow-up calls. In short, if you are looking for a local, reliable, customer-oriented individual and company for an alarm system installation, call Mitch at True Value Security systems. He will be straightforward with you and will do a quality job. While it's taken me almost two years to complete this review, as they say, the job has stood the test of time. Mitch's quality products and reliability make his company far preferable to any of the large national chains who will arrive, install and disappear. True Value will arrive, install, and stay with the customer for as long as it takes to master the system and work with any problems or concerns that may arise. For my money, that's worth a great deal.
