TRUE VALUE SECURITY SYSTEMS

Description of Work: True Value Security noticed that our system was showing an issue with one of the door chimes, and called us. The owner of True Value came out to our house to check our security system, and also run a test on the system (which is required annually by our town). Mitchell checked the entire system, as well as replaced batteries where necessary in smoke detectors and other parts of the system. This is a terrific company, very committed to its clients, and provides truly excellent service at a very reasonable price. Forget about ADP and those other big security companies; you're much better off with a person who knows your name and actually cares about delivering value! We've used other security firms before, and never been happy. Try this one and you'll see what I mean!

He is not there to scare you into over-designing and over-spending for your alarm. We put our trust in him and True Value has delivered. Mitchell did the installation and provided us with all service manuals and a complete demonstration for our touch-pad control box. Our alarm has tripped a few times and we were contacted in less than a minute. If we move, we can take the alarm with us because True Value wants to keep their customers. Description of Work: My family and I left my apartment in downtown Manhattan after Hurricane Sandy took out the power. When we returned, the carbon monoxide alarm was sounding, and I could not ascertain whether or not the alarm was truly detecting CO or if the unit, and my alarm system, was on the fritz. I first called Honeywell, the makers of the detector and the system to which it is connected. They were useless. Then, I called Mitchell. Mitchell was able to calmly and simply relate instructions on how to reset my alarm. And although I am not his client, he did this for free. That's right, no charge. I highly recommend him. He clearly knows his stuff, and, he is a fair businessman.

Description of Work: Mr. Meyer installed a one camera surveillance system at my home in Brooklyn. Not being knowledgable in this area, and unaware of what system I needed, I felt Mr. Meyer was completely upfront and didn't try to sell me anymore than what was needed. I had spoken with other companies, and his pricing was fair and in line with the others. From the beginning to the end of the installation, he was responsive and thorough. Even several weeks after, I had called for some additional instruction on using it, and he was extremely helpful. I would not hesitate to use True Value Security Systems again, or refer them to anyone needing a security system.

Description of Work: New alarm system connected to a central station Windows and doors connected wirelessly to the control box. Motion sensors and smoke alarm wirelessly installed. Cental station costs $30 a month. I have a 5 year contract for this. MItchell came to give me a free estimate only a few hours after I called. All work was done efficiently and on time.

Description of Work: Mr. Meyer installed a security camera for the front of my brownstone in Crown Heights. He was incredibly responsive to my initial inquiry and all along the process. The system was expensive, but I think worthwhile given the quality. My goal in getting the security camera was to be able to monitor my house during the day, and this is where the one glitch came in - while the system allows users to log in remotely and view the camera from off-site, my company's network blocks the use of such software, and my blackberry only allows me to view things live, not review past "footage." Although this limitation was not under the installer's control, when I asked him about the problems I was having accessing the system it was clear that he was familiar with the system's limitations. Given this, it would have been helpful to have this information upfront - I would have shopped around more to see if there were different systems that did not require me to purchase additional equipment - such as an iPad - to have access to all of their features. (Perhaps all systems have this limitation, I don't know, but again it would have been helpful to know before spending so much money.) That being said, I am happy with the system (despite its limitations), and have only positive things to say about the quality of Mr. Meyer's work, and his responsiveness and follow-up.
