All went well

During the estimate phase, Phillip helped me decide what would work best to frame an entrance way in front of our garage door. We decided that French Doors with a casement window on each side would work best. Without his help I wasn't able to pull a plan together. He researched and set up the parts order for the materials I ordered. A month later the parts came in and we set 9/5/12 for getting started. By the end of the day Phillip and two young veterans he is training, had completed the job. The entrance makes a great impression and is very practical for our workshop garage space. Two days later Phillip called and asked if there were any problems, and scheduled time for some minor adjustments to the door closing set up. We called to set up an appointment. Phil came promptly. He expained what and how he would do the repairs, when he was available to do the work, how long it would take, and who were the members of his team that would be at out home. We compared his information and his quoted price with the three other estimates that we had gotten. His price was the most reasonable and we liked how he was going to do the work. Given some weather delays(all of our projects were outside) he came when he said he would, he did the work in the two days he had said it would take, and the cost was what he had estimated. His work was neat, he cleaned up completely. All of this sounds so simple but we have found recently that it may sound simple but rarely does it happen.Our porch floor on our 200 + year old house is beautiful now. And you can now safely get to our tennis court.We were so pleased with all the work that he did that he and his crew are back today to do some more repairs-glazing windows, installing a storm door and more outside stair repairs.I may decide to stay with Angies List because of Phil. He is a real find.

We only got as far as the estimate phase. However, he made a real effort to accommodate my schedule and appeared to be very professional and knowledgeable.

Phil came came to do the estimate very promptly and started the work within 2 weeks of our decision to go ahead. For all material requiring a choice (bath fixtures, vanity, lights, paint, tile, etc.), we picked out and paid for it at the local home supply store. Phil then picked it up and brought it to the house. There were two helpers that showed up promptly at the promised time in the morning and worked hard all day. Phil himself often stayed beyond quiting tiome to finish a piece of work in progress. Although the crew cleaned up nicely every evening, both jobs required removing old concrete base, and the resulting dust required a whole house cleaning after work was complete. We were extremely happly with the tile work. General construction work was excellent. Spackling and painting were also very good, as was the electrical work. If there was any weakness at all, it would be plumbing, but the end result was still very satisfactory. We thought the price was very fair. We wouldn't hesitate to use Phil again.

He was professional, knowledgeable and thorough. His initial estimate was also very reasonable. Ultimately we selected another contractor; Phil was our second choice but another contractor had more experience with the local building inspectors and got what we were trying to achieve with the renovation. I would consider Phil for other jobs.

It went good. There is nothing to say. Besides the estimate, I think I'll favor them. They were very professional. If I bought the house, I would use them.

Our home was built in 2002 and the front steps were never properly treated/ sealed. When we bought our home in 2008, we new that the front steps would eventually need attention. Phil came to our rescue because everything had become thoroughly rotten and was no longer structurally sound. He did all of the work in a single day and we are very happy with the end-product. Also, Phil is very professional, easy to contact and very flexible in brainstorming the best approaches to complete our project. We highly recommend him and will definitely continue to work with him!

We had some leaks as a result of Hurricane Irene, and an exterior door that needed replacing. Phil came and took care of it asap.This is my second experience with PJD and I am extremely satisfied. I am already planning to have PJD do more work in the future.

He worked with the insurance company and found more mold than the insurance estimator even found. He was very helpful in his investigation. He worked with me over the phone and told me what needed to be replaced. He took care of all the purchasing of replacement parts and items. He even sent us the pictures of the finished product that he sent to the insurance company.

Phil is an excellent contractor and very hard worker. Once he starts a project, he stays with it until completion (one project at a time). He is very flexible to accommodate his customers. He finished our basement in stages, due to our economic situation (our request).
