I purchased a Big deal for BrightHome Energy Solutions to do a home energy audit. They did a good job, prompt and professional. Gave me detailed information on what needed to be done to make my home more energy efficient.

Not all information provided in the report was correct. I had to call to get my final report after 2 weeks.

We hired Bright Home through Angie's List Big Deal offer. Joe from Bright Home arrived promptly and did a thorough analysis of our home, checking for drafts and insulation weaknesses. We've hired Bright Home to install new attic and wall insulation as well as basement crawl space upgrades. This work will be done in July so we'll keep Angie's List members updated. We feel the value of the $99 Big Deal offer was a good one. Bright Home is a knowledgeable and experienced company that can save us money with their green solutions.

Not Happy ....they cancelled my energy audit appointment...evening before they were scheduled to come

They came, they were fine, and they were lovely. The guy who came said I was his last person because he was leaving the business or going to another company, but I never got a written report. He told me that I should apply for the rebate and I did get that back. He did say that there wasn't really anything that we needed to do, so I never got anything in the mail and never pursued it. It was a government program that was actually free for people in a certain income bracket. He told me to apply for it and I got the money back from the government for the visit. I did go through the house with him and there wasn't anything glaring to do. Overall it was great except for not getting the written report. He did go over everything when he was here and told me how to get my money back. I ended up paying nothing, but even the $99 would've been worth it. Everything was really good except there was no follow-up. I didn't request anything afterwards and they were very responsive when I first contacted them.

The auditor from BrightHome Energy Solutions conducted a thorough home energy audit and clearly explained through words, pictures and presentation where the problems lie and what can be done to fix them. He was able to answer all of our questions and was timely following up. We decided to hire this company to do the work needed. The men started at 8am and left by 4pm for 4 days in a row, which was exactly what was told to us prior. They were clean, efficient and did not get in our way. A follow up evaluation is now needed to be sure the problems were corrected. Up to this point we are very happy with the experience.

The energy audit was good. They are a contracting company. They were offering services to do some other work. They proposed to do some additional work. They also do insulation and that was a bit of conflict of interest and I found some other company to do the work and it was just to change valves. They were friendly. The person who did the audit was knowledgeable. The work was good but my complaint was that they were pushing their services so it is better to have an independent audit. The price was a little bit high. They were responsive.

Very professional. Always showed up when they were supposed to, and were pleasant and efficient.

Professional report and great overview with prioritization of projects needed to increase our home's energy efficiency

They said the test was going to take 4 hours. It took 2 hours.

From the time we got to the right person, which was not immediately, we had an outstanding experience. The staff person, whose name I think was Brian, explained everything, supervised the job, and made sure everything was cleaned up perfectly. He also explained what rebates we were eligible for, and about a non- interest loan. We were considering a new continuous heating hot water heater, because of the potential energy savings, but Brian investigated it for our purposes, and finally recommended against it. That was ethical of him; we appreciated the research he did.

They found about $10,000 worth of stuff to do to our house----sprayed insulation and sweeps on the doors to help retain the energy. I felt like all the work they did was sort of shoddy and over-priced. They left a mess everywhere in my house. The house is still cold and drafty. It did not make a big difference in our energy bills.

The team was professional and very knowledgeable . They set an an expectation and a timeline as to how and when the job would be completed . Would recommend them without hesitation.

It was a very good experience. He seemed knowledgeable and had useful equipment. He was able to show us what he was doing and his energy audit was very useful. He was knowledgeable about what state programs that we might qualify for and how to get them. He was knowledgeable about the technical side as well. He was able to come up with flexible plans for what we could do to help insulate the house afterwards.

The service provider seemed very well informed about boiler maintenance and did his best to insure that I understood what he was doing and how important it was that the service was done regularly and well. He pointed out other potential problem areas in our elderly (c1902) HVAC system, and left me with knowledge and confidence I didn't have before. All in all, a very positive experience, more than I expected.

The prices that BrightHome Energy Solutions gave me was more than I could afford. He did advise me on what should be done. He was good and efficient and seemed to know what he was doing. It was easy because he was not an aggressive salesman.

Bright Home Energy Solutions was honest. Their price, quality, and professionalism were excellent. I plan on using them again in the future.

They were very professional. I had to wait for a month, but I got the report eventually.

In October, 2011 we responded to an Angieslist promotion for a Home Bright Energy Audit. We contacted the company at that time and they responded that they were backed up for at least two months and advised us to re-contact them in January of 2012. We emailed them in January and they emailed a response requesting our phone number. At that time we had a number of family funerals in a series and did not return to this matter for about 5 weeks, at which time we called their office and left our number and a message. We never heard back from them. Out of sight and out of mind, we did not return to this issue until November 2012 at which time we emailed the company about this. To-date, mid-February 2013, we still have not received any reply. Just today we contacted Angieslist to get refunded for the money we had already paid for their coupon. Under the circumstances we could not recommend this company for anything.

Our home was built in the 1940's and the insulation in the attic was insufficient causing huge icicles to form off one corner of the house after a big snow storm. The job was supposed to take two days but took three as some of ther workers were unable to travel due to Hurricane Sandy. The men did a very professional job. They sealed off all the recessed lights with domes for safety and erected barriers around the perimeter of the attic to make sure that the insulation was deeply set in the rafters. They were meticulous in making sure that every inch was well insulated, even the drop-down attic door. They lifted the floor boards up in the attic floor and blew insulation underneath. If there was a little crack somewhere they blew in a bit of foam insulation.The crew was very careful and detail oriented. I was very impressed that they stayed late Friday night to make certain everything was done properly and cleaned up even though several of them were concerned about getting back to their own cars as there was a gas shortage after the hurricane. The men were very considerate and polite. The men assessing the insulation needs were very professional as well, as was the follow-up. We have not had a super-snowstorm yet this year, but I do think my gas bill is smaller.I would highly recommend BrightHome Enery Solutions. I liked that their product was a green solution to insulation and fire resistant.

The team arrived on time and were very professional. They sat down to describe the process, answer questions about the process, and inquire about our home (approximate age, any hot/cold spots we knew about, current energy consumption). They then set about taking pictures, measuring and reviewing the house starting with the exterior and working from attic through to basement and garage. They ended by running a test of air exchange. During the whole process they were careful about tracking dirt/dust. Approximately 4 days later we received a comprehensive report of our house, with pictures and graphs, with rankings for where we could get the most benefit in case we wanted to do the work in phases. There were no surprises (our house is > 80 years old), and we needed insulation in our attic, proper sealing to avoid drafts, and exterior wall insulation. The team was very professional with the presentation, patient with our questions, and did not try to push or sell themselves as the only provider. After further discussion we decided to go ahead with the work and contracted with them to perform the full insulation/sealing process. That took a full week and was dusty work, but they prepared us for the process so we knew what to expect, cleaned up after themselves and the area every day, and were done on time. They sent a separate individual to conduct the efficiency test after the work was completed to confirm the gain met our goal. We couldn't be happier. The house is more comfortable in both winter and summer and our energy bills have gone down by nearly 20%.
