They came out for a consultation. They were on time, and the estimate went fine. I didn't have any other services done with them.

It was great. It was a good quality. They were professional, very thorough and explained everything. The guy we worked with was leaving the company but he did all the audit work. When we went to book them and called him, they said he moved and was no longer with the company so we have to start all over.

The provider switches the appointment back and forth three times prior to the meeting. The consultant obviously didn't want to be at our appointment and didn't want to answer any questions in the first 15-20 minutes. It was initially very frustrated because as he asked to show up two hours prior to the appointment time, I had to opt out of a work conference call to meet with him. To his credit the appointment picked up as I pushed for more information. His excuse was he didn't have enough sleep last night. Finally, he did show me some images of their previous works and explained their products. I feel that they did not provide us the insulation solution for our house but wanted to sell the standard package that they have. So we decided to go with another service provider. The bottom line is even if they are the best of the best, my husband and I would rather go with second, third or forth vendor that would pay attention to our issues and at least seems like they want to be at the appointment.

It was helpful. It was a little confusing with the online demonstration afterwards about how to fix my energy issues.

It was fine. They got the job done over 2 days. The workers were fine. The scheduling was good.

Tom Brown was the initial inspector. He did a great job analyzing the house. He crawled through every nook and cranny in the house and gave us a detailed description of what he was doing and why. He then provided us with a very detailed report on the house complete with pictures and recommendations for how to solve our energy problems. Basically the insulation in the house was very old (where there was insulation) and they came in and provided different kinds of insulation for different parts of the house. They were very professional and finished the job earlier than they said they would. There was no mess and no damage. The review won't be complete until we see how the energy bills compare to last year but all of the work they did was excellent and they were very responsive and professional.

Scheduled the appointment easily and the tech arrived on time. He was very thorough and took his time explaining to me what he was looking at and what he was seeing. The blower door setup took a little time but overall I'd say the appointment was efficient. He asked for some information from my energy bills and that he would be back in touch soon. About 2 weeks later I got my report. The only downside is that I don;t believe this company services my area anymore so some of the work that they quoted me on they may not be able to complete. Good experience overall.

A very complete analysis of the home's ability to be energy efficient. There were several pieces of equiptment employed to conduct the analysis. The technician was very professional and personable.

The service turned out okay. They were okay on the price, and I was happy with it. It took them a few months to come out, because I wasn't available.

Everything went well. The people that came were fine and they gave me a very comprehensive analysis of the energy efficiency of my home.

The team was truly awesome, I have to say. They were punctual, thorough, neat, and very professional. They spent the first three days air sealing all around the basement, in closets, and around bumpouts and filling our attic ceiling and knee walls with insulation, then spent two more days pumping 2,000 pounds of cellulose into our walls. We felt the difference immediately - walls that were icy to the touch before are now as warm as the interior of the room. No more drafts coming in around the bumpouts. Best of all they were incredibly easy to work with - this job involved giving them a lot of access to places we use for storage, so it was a major pain moving things around. But they always gave us a heads-up on what area they needed access to next so we could move things in the right order. I had also been worried about the mess, but they covered everything before they got to work and cleaned up after they were finished. (In some cases, like the bottoms of our 15-years-since-they-were-last-empty closets, they left the place cleaner than they found it.) Couldn't be happier with the way it all went. This is an expensive job, but we're happy we did it. We won't know until next year how it will affect our heating bill, but we can already tell that it will -- we had some pretty cold days since the job was done but actually had the heat off. (My daughter woke up one night and asked if we could turn on the A/C!) I definitely give these guys an A+ for their work.

They were able to identify several issues with the insulation and air infiltration. Nothing that I wasn't aware of myself, but it was good to have the validation. They offered services to improve the insulation, but at the time I was not able to engage them. I would definitely consider them in the future.

The guy was very good. I thought he would have checked more of the cold pockets and he did send an assessment with solutions to some of the areas. They spent about an hour and a half doing the assessment. I mentioned cold areas in the bathroom and he did acknowledge that but it was not included in the report. He was very nice to work with.

It was great. There was no extra charge. They were on time, punctual and it was very detailed.

We had the audit done both before we got our siding and insulation and afterwards. The audit helped us get a rebate from the state which helped. I would not be seeking out their services again because the work has been completed and there is no need.

They were difficult to work with and it took forever for them to do the report they said they would do. The experience was really bad. It took about a year to get the report. The follow up from them was horrible. The person that did the audit was pleasant to work with and he did a good job on the audit. He did take forever to get the report back and I mentioned a certain item that we were looking at making more energy efficient. He said that there was a way to do it but he never shared that and he just wanted us to sign up for a major investment approach first.

Audit completeed, and improvement recomendations provided

One of the upstairs rooms was way colder than the rest in winter and way hotter than the rest in summer. BrightHome started with an energy assessment under NYSERDA guidelines; this was a terrific source of information about what to do and what would be the best bang for our buck. The studied showed that the issue was not so much the insulation but air leaking in the house between walls and floor joists that was causing the problem. It also turned out that our attic was not vented and not insulated properly for our climate zone; bathroom fans were not ducted properly and cause outside air to leak through it, our crawl space needed to be treated too. Brighthome came for 4 days, they sprayed the entire house base rim joist with 2" closed cell foam, installed rigid insulation in a few walls and the crawl space, they sprayed the top of the walls in the attic with 2" closed cell foam, built a platform and retaining wall for blown in cellulose insulation, vented the attic properly, fixed our fan's duct work and vented it properly. I recommend using them and will reuse them if needed.

They did a thorough job and prepared a full report and presentation of their analysis and results online. Our house was built in the 30's so it was useful to see where all of the drafts were. They performed a quote of the work to be performed to reduce the largest drafts in the house. I think they did a great job for the price and found the analysis to be insightful. I haven't decided what work I want performed but I expect to have them perform at least part of it. One of our rooms is very drafty and it was extremely useful to see where the leaks were.

While we ultimately did not use the services of Bright home we most certainly would consider them for future work. Mike & Mike promptly conducted a thorough inspection of our home and gave us a very cost competitive estimate and explanation of services provided. The guys were always available to answer questions and were the utmost professionals.

The energy assessment was thorough and resulted in a quick turn around report and proposal for comprehensive insulation work in the attic, basement, as well as a couple spots on the main level. The assessor - Tom - also brought to my attention a number of state rebates that turned out to reduce the cost of the work by half. Went with them for the insulation work which they completed a little more than a month later. (The guys who did the work were great - they even helped move piles of stuff in my basement which was a huge help.) That winter turned out to be pretty warm - but the winters since my family and I have been alot more comfortable and there are less fights over the thermostat.

Decided to move forward with almost all of the recommended solutions. Skipped one area because of location, but should have done that too as a pipe froze in that area. Having them come back to do that area now too. Nick came by for a walk through to plan the job and then the team comes when scheduled. Everyone came on-time, laid down items to protect the floors, and cleaned up throughout upon leaving. This was a 3 day job starting before and continuing after thanksgiving. There was no mess to cleanup after them before 12 people came over on Thanksgiving.

And we live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn...not far out.

It was a horrible experience. It was difficult to get them out there and the guy that came out there ended up leaving as did the secretary who was working on it. I had to chase them several weeks to get the report and when I finally got the report, it was just bare minimum information. There was nothing I could use in terms of energy efficiency recommendations.

Bright Home was professional and the reports were extensive. The remediation proposals seemed to us to be expensive, but I can not find detail on the competitiveness of the pricing -- so I have to assume it is the going rate. We are in touch with other contractors now to see if they can provide estimates to compare to. Overall, it was a great experiance -- for the price to have a professional set of eyes be able to pin-point areas of concern was well worth it. We are evaluating the proposal and will likely follow-through with most of the recommendations.
