Description of Work: He came to access my home in terms of Energy solutions. He was suppose to send me a detailed report of his findings and recommendations but I never got such report.

Description of Work: A thorough inspection of our house was performed, followed by the creation and presentation of a detailed and honest appraisal off our energy situation, remediation options and their value/utility. Mike spent an hour with us on the phone reviewing the report, and because there had been a communication max-up at an earlier time, gave a generous consideration. If we were to decide to move on any major work in this area, we would to hesitate to call upon him!

Description of Work: I had an energy audit on my home. The person who came to do the work, Tom Brown, was extremely thorough and professional. He spent about 4 hours at my house and showed me where all the air was coming into the house and how we could fix it. A few days later he provided us with an in-depth report/estimate over the phone using a web ex. I thought it was great and made sense. The issue was the cost. Even though I would get a rebate. I could not spend all the money at this time. I would like to have some of the work done and plan on it, like sealing up my crawl spaces, but I am not sure about the rebate. I would definitely use them to do the work and highly recommend them.

Description of Work: They no longer provide service in Bergen County NJ. I made an appointment directly with them. The day before I called to confirm and was told they don't do audits anymore in NJ. I was told that the woman who took the appointment should have known that but didn't They were very apologetic and Angies List did refund the money, but I was trying to plan a number of items for that day, so it was a little bothersome I wasn't able to make the best use of my time that day.

Description of Work: I spent $99 for an energy audit which was done thoroughly, and followed up with a useful report. Far, far better than the energy audit I did through the gas/electric company. I haven't followed through yet on the construction to fix the problems, but I plan to use them.

Description of Work: They came in a did a very thorough energy audit of our over 9000 sq ft home. They were polite, knowledgeable and very thorough. They then sat down with us for about an hour and explained what they had found and how it should be fixed. They gave us a bid to do the work which we reviewed with 3 architect friends. All concurred that the analysis was correct and that the pricing was excellent. They arrived yesterday to remove asbestos. The men were polite, efficient, hard working and very sensible. Next they will come to seal the house where the floors meet the exterior walls and they will insulate where needed.

Description of Work: Brian from Bright Home Solutions arrived on time and explained to me what an Energy Audit consisted of and what he would need to do do conduct it. He got right to work and spent a significant amount of time in my attic and crawl space. He then used a special thermal camera to identify the quality and suffiency of insulation in the walls and ceiling areas of the house. He concluded by using an apparatus in the front door of my house that sucked all the air out of the house and showed you where you were losing heating through vents, light switches etc. through poor or improper insulation. Overall, I have to say Brian was very knowledgeable and considerate with his explanation of where my house was in need of improvements that would be energy saving tips on my home.

Description of Work: The company did an energy audit, which resulted in an extravagant price, which I rejected. During an explanation of the report he indicated that in order to do the work he would have to do a plumbing alteration to the tune of $150 because my water heater was out of compliance. The issue he was referring to was the extension of a pipe attachment to the pressure relief valve. I asked it was an "all or nothing offer" or could I do some of the suggestions. He said sure we can do just some of the work; I will get back to you with a price on the work that you want. I never heard from him again. Since I did not hear from him again I went to Home Depot to get the pressure relief pipe extension he indicated I needed. I picked up the threaded pipe for a grand total of about three dollars ($3.00) plus tax and just screwed in into the pressure relief valve. I subsequently bought a new water heater from another Angie's list plumber. When they installed the new water heater I noted that they attached the same three-dollar ($3.00) pipe I had previously installed on the old water heater to the newly installed water heater.

Description of Work: I contacted BrightHome re a problem with new neighbors moving into the condo next to mine (where I've lived for 20 years) - who smoke. Our two units share a closet in my entry that houses both of our air handlers and the smoke and contaminants in their home is being circulated into my home through the shared closet. I now have stale smoke coming through every register in every room of my home and I have been sick from the exposure for almost 3 months (headaches, horrific cough, unable to breath deeply). BrightHome came to do a check of the situation and give me options and estimates for any way in which they might be able to help remedy the situation. The prices seemed totally fair for the work that might be warranted. Since I am not in any way responsible for the situation, this information has been passed on to my neighbors and the condo association to see how they want to resolve this. I was so totally impressed with BrightHome as a company on every level. I have every bit of faith that they would follow through with the work in the exact same manner that they responded to situation and took the time to do the check and give me the written estimates. Their actions exhibited a high degree of integrity and professionalism. I cannot say enough about every single employee that I encountered (which was at least 4). They are courteous beyond what I experience with many other companies and were just plain human. I am really grateful for being lucky enough to have encountered their name in a search for a company that might be able to help in this difficult situation - they went above and beyond - which leads me to think this is simply their way of doing business in a world where we see way too much of the opposite. I would certainly contact this company for any needs I have in the future for any of the services that they render.
