They were very good. They were on time and clean. They were very respect. We had asked for referrals on some radiator companies and we are still waiting to hear from them.

Wayne was extremely helpful searching within their parts department to find the missing part. He was unable to find the part but the installation of the new valve ended up being less work then we were originally quoted for. Wonderful experience!

The first thing he did when he got to our house was present a business card with his name, Elliott Voleshen, which I thought was very professional. He looked at the items that need repair, and due to the fact that the pump work was going to be costly, he priced it out and informed me of the cost before doing any work, and explained everything to me. Elliott did a great job and I was very pleased not only with Penfield Plumbing, but with Elliott as well. I would highly recommend them to friends.

My 12-year-old water-powered backup sump pump had started leaking all over the basement floor. Elliot from Penfield Plumbing came to look at it on July 10. He found a part that was cracked and leaking. He pointed out that it would be difficult to get just the replacement part, that further deterioration of the pump could be expected, that the pump did not have a backflow preventer as is required by the Water Authority, and that new backup sump pumps are of much higher quality. He disconnected the old pump, which solved the immediate problem, and gave me a quote for a new pump, including the backflow preventer. He did not charge for the visit. I called back the next day and scheduled installation of the new pump for July 25. On July 25 Elliot and his helper arrived at 9:00am. When they removed the old sump pump piping, they found that the external drain pipe was cracked just outside the foundation. They dug up and repaired the external pipe. They installed and tested the new backup sump pump and backflow preventer. They inspected the drain pipe interior with a camera and found no problems (once the cracked pipe was repaired). They were finished by 1:00pm. A fine, professional job. The new sump pump system is visibly superior to the old one. I paid exactly what was quoted, plus a reasonable additional charge for the external pipe repair. They did the camera inspection at no charge. I also got a 10% Angie's List member discount!

Excellent service and same day completion. Knew his stuff and did a thorough job with gas line, venting, and water lines. Did it right the first time and it has worked perfect ever since. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to friends and family.

The cost here reflects the fact that I decided on two 50 gallon water heaters in tandem to provide a near endless source of hot water for my large family and recently installed overhead rain-type shower. It could have been done much cheaper but I do so love my long hot showers (as do all 4 of my children). That necessarily included a little extra work to set up the appropriate venting, etc. In all, I feel it was a very fair price for the amount of work that I ultimately had done. The individual I first spoke with was professional, courteous, and scheduled my estimate appointment quickly. Both of the craftsmen who we dealt with - the one who came for the initial estimate and the one who did the work - were highly professional and knowledgeable. The work product appears to be of high quality, and was completed in the time estimated. I would not hesitate to contract with this company again if in need of any type of plumbing work.

This was a weekend call. Our hot water heater just died. I tried relighting the pilot with no luck. I had to go into work.John our tech came out and noticed the screens at the base of the unit were very dirty. He cleaned and re-lit pilot. He did not charge us for this which was incredibly nice of him. (We had been doing alot of remodeling in the basement so potenially there was a lot of fine dust buildup) Unfortunately the hw heater died again so John returned and did a more thorough cleaning of the unit incleading scraping the screen under neath. He re-lit and checked the unit again. He spent a significant amount of time to be sure it was running properly. John was knowledgeable, very pleasent, advised us on what to purchase if & when we replace the unit. Very professional and would use this service again. Price was fair given this was a weekend issue with two visits out to our house.

Well ... knowledge is power so it went well. I now know I have 2 blockages in my rain drainage system. Unfortunately, when they built the house they used very poor (thin) piping. This in turn, over the course of many years, has become disconnected in places. I have chosen not to fix the blockages as one is directly under my roughly 3 year-old new driveway. The other is in an area where I can discontinue using the drainage system and have the rain water go directly to ground. The results of there service was not the best news I could have hoped for but does not reflect poorly on what they did in the least. He spent at least 5 hours figuring out what was happening. I would do business with them again in the future.

Jamie was courteous, informative, and professional in completing his work. Before he began he showed me the quote for the work to be done and told me exactly what he'd be doing and why. He had to navigate around a washer and dryer to replace one spigot and bib and for the second one he had to negotiate a small space between a desk and a bookcase. He did a thorough job and left the house as he found it; we'd never have known he was here except that I was at home. To top it off, at the end of the job our little dog brought his ball to Jamie and barked furiously for him to play. Jamie didn't blink, picked up the ball and threw it for Oliver to fetch while I signed the paperwork.

We had a leak under out toilet causing the downstairs ceiling to become wet. The plumber lifted up the toilet, dryed up the moisture and resealed our toilet. The source of the leak could not be found but he said he would come back if the leak reocurred as they would have to cut into the ceiling from below if this happened but that would be a lot more expensive so he recommended the current fix. So far everything is drying up and the leak has not returned so far.

I called and made the appointment. They scheduled out 2 days, but luckily we had a back up pump which would suffice until they could come look at the broken sump pump. They gave me a window of 12-2 and said a technician would be out between those times. The doorbell rang at 11 a.m. and there was the tech. He was running early and thought he would chance finding someone home. He was polite and courteous. Looked at the pump and said it needed to be replaced. He gave me an estimate so I knew what the cost was upfront. I agreed to have him do the work and 15 minutes later it was all complete. I barely knew he was in the house. He showed me the new pump and answered a few questions. I paid the bill and he went on his way. Very good service.

He arrived early and got right to work. Estimate provided was $100 less than the other one I had received for another plumber. Work took about 3 hours. He would have repaired the hole in the wall (had to open the wall behind the pipes due to the small working area), but I decided to do it myself. Overall, a very good experience. Very pleased with the quality of the work, the price, and the professionalism shown by the plumber.

Very quick solution and fix to problem

Did a great job. Was very quick did a fantastic job cleaning up and the price was more than fair. They installed the plumbing in our home and had all our information on file. We will definitely call them again if needed.

After discovering no hot water and a small leak by the water heater on Saturday, we called Penfield Plumbing on Monday morning. They came the same day, within the timeframe they told us and after checking the water heater which was several years old, replaced it. All work was completed within about 2 hours. The tech. was professional and courteous. The price was reasonable.

Extremely positive experience! The quality of the work was excellent, the prices were reasonable, and the customer service was great. I am rehabbing a 100-yr-old house and I am so happy with the work that was completed today that I will be hiring Penfield Plumbing again in a few months to tackle a bathroom renovation.

Job took about an hour. A young man came to do the job and provided a quote. Although the lady on the phone said there was no cost for estimates , she did not mention that a $40 charge is added on top of parts and labor for the 'visit'. Being a busy person, I did not have much time to keep calling people and asking for quotes. The charge for two outside faucet replacements was ~$470 which I thought was very high but really needed the back one replaced so did just one. They do have a one year warranty on parts and labor so, hopefully there won't be any issues and if there are they will take care of it. I would recommend getting multiple quotes (at least 3) before doing these jobs. From my online research etc., I think this job should have been completed within $150-200 max with parts, labor and tax http://www.absoluteplumbingonline.com/estimated_charges.shtml . I was not happy with the 'visit' charge. However, the young man on the job was courteous and efficient.

I was very happy when I called to arranged an estimate and they sent someone over the same afternoon. On the day of the service things seemed to go okay, but when the work was done I went downstairs to check things out and found a very wet floor. The service person explained that there was a problem when trying to turn off the main water valve and he recommended that I have it replaced. He had used a couple of towels that we had down there and had wiped up some of the water, but there were still some little rivulets running across the floor and the a large area was quite wet. We were disappointed that a better cleanup job was not done, and also that they had used our towels without asking. We would expect anyone replacing a hot water heater to be prepared to dry the floor with their own equipment. We had scheduled the job before the existing water heater had failed because we wanted to avoid such a mess. He did apologize for the mess ... but he left it for use to clean up.

Plumber was punctual and professional. Completed his work and explained things to my husband. We would use this service again.

Installed new moen shower valve with chrome trim and remodel plate.. He also had to fix the water cutoff valve behind the shower valve because it was broken (not turning). So he had to cut the piping and connect a new cutoff valve also.

I was impressed that they were able to come out the same day and fixed the problem immediately. Three weeks later there haven't been any problems so seems like they fixed it correctly. For an emergency the price seemed fair.
