Penfield Plumbing

I originally scheduled AP Plumbing but they called and canceled on me twice. So I called Penfield Plumbing. They got to me the next day. They did work what would have taken me days to do myself in a couple hours. Very happy and will use them again.

Another contractor had put in the new toilet in September and it was leaking around the floor. this plumber came in and found all kinds of problems with my plumbing that there was nothing wrong with. I've lived her 18 years and not had problems. I told him just to fix the leaking. He did. He was here for 20 minutes including paperwork and charged me $153.73 to change the ring under the toilet. When I made the original request I was told there was no charge for someone to come out, yet on the bill they charged me $40 for that.

I recall that fixing the leak was less than $100 and the garage disposal was about $400 and that included labor and the disposal itself. They are really very good. They are a local company that is professional. Their prices and service is good. If I ever felt there was an issue that need rectifying rapidly they are here in a heartbeat.

It took them about an hour and half to complete the work. They were very timely with a quick response. The technician who showed up was very prompt and cleaned up well. They did a great job!

They were able to give me a window within four hours of my first phone call and the plumber showed up at the very beginning of the window. He was professional, friendly and fast. Very happy!

After 10 years in our house and three "50 year floods" of 2 inches in our basement, I thought we were going to have to add a sump pump or spend lots of money. I met Elliot when he first came to estimate what our options were to stop the occasional flooding. Elliot came up with an even better solution - to use the sewer line to deflect the overflow of water backing up out of the gravity drain from around the house when the water main is full. Elliot has a lot of patience and has a knack for explaining things. He is an educator, honest and a true professional. Elliot and Brian were here all day for the repair. They broke up the basement floor to access the sewer and storm pipes and add the new pipe. Throughout the process, they showed me what they were doing. We had another competing estimate for $100 more, but Elliot was so thorough and clear that it was a no-brainer. I would highly recommend Elliot and Penfield Plumbing.

I thought everything was good about them. The service was good and they came and investigated well. They figured out the problem. The got the parts and installed them. It has been fine since then. The price seemed reasonable to me and so I didn’t get other estimates. The parts were expensive because they were specialized faucets. Their quality of work and responsiveness were very good. They answered a lot of questions. They were here exactly when they said they would be. The ordered parts came in earlier than they thought. They were here once the parts were here. The people that came to do the job really knew their stuff.

The people who lived in out house before us had put a custom, very expensive toilet in the main bathroom. Over time it has started to break and our previous plumber (who just retired) would make custom fixes for us since parts for that type of toilet were no longer available. It stopped working again and I called Penfield Plumbing because of the high rating on Angie's List and the 10% discount they offer. They came the next day and agreed with my previous plumber that parts were no longer available. At my request they replaced the toilet that day with a toilet very similar in appearance made by Kohler which will not be a problem for parts if, in the future, anything should need to be replaced. The Penfield Plumbing employee was very polite, was able to give me options, had the toilet in stock and installed it immediately.

Technicians were excellent. The customer service was not managed well. I had to call 3 times, and it seemed a bit sketchy like they dropped the ball. And, the service manager didn't take control of the situation after I had asked what my status was, he (Bruce) dropped it back in an admins lap to deal with. It seemed no one knew of my calls, I know when I'm trying to be fooled, and if they would had just been truthful, I would have given a better review. Mistakes happen and I am professional enough to know to take them in stride, I would have been fine with just knowing, instead of being in the dark. Also, my husband and I had to rearrange our schedules to be home and they never showed in their specified time. I must say the technicians made the whole ordeal much better and they should be recognized for that. They have to face the customer after the calls were mishandled. Not a good situation for them to be in.

Even though I did not choose to have Penfield Plumbing do the work, I was extremely impressed with their quick response and follow-up. Our water heater sprung a leak on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Their on-call technician returned my call within five minutes and was able to quote me a fair and competitive price. He was willing to come out right then and replace it and also informed me of the holiday/weekend surcharge - which I totally understand. Also, their office contacted me first thing Tues. morning to make sure I was all set. Great customer service! We chose to wait and we had the heater replace on Tues. by our regular HVAC/Plumbing contractor who had been out of town on the weekend. Both companies quoted me the exact same product at the exact same price. I just chose not to pay a holiday surcharge this time. I would certainly consider Penfield Plumbing in the future!

Experience was great beginning with the estimate. They came out as scheduled and on time, was very professional, explained things very well, and described what all my options were. He itemized all the areas of concern I had so I could pick the jobs I wanted done based on individual line-item prices When he came back, he brought a crew and they were very organized. Each man had their tasks and completed the job quicker than expected and cleaned up afterwords. They checked and double checked everything and the job ended up turning out great. I will definitely go back to Penfield Plumping for any future job.

Very professional, thorough, and fast. Thought of everything, like calling security company to put smoke alarms on test prior to using welder in basement. Explained the work in layman's terms and physically showed us what work was done and why.

I was having an issue with my sinks backing up. My problem was that the pipe under my basement floor was cracked and had a hole in it. I was told by two other companies that the pipes needed to be replaced and was offered two different options. I wanted to get a third opinion and saw on Angie's List that Penfield Plumbing had many positive reviews. I called them and Elliot came and assessed the situation. He wanted to see exactly what the problem was and put his camera down my sewer and found a huge hole. He gave me the same two options as the others. Although, Penfield Plumbing was much higher in price I decided to go with them because I felt comfortable and confident with Elliot. The next day Elliot and Anthony showed up to do the job. What a pleasure it was working with these two gentlemen. They have such a great sense of humor and a great working relationship. They put in a new hung sewer system. I had envisioned it to look unattractive but it came out looking great. They competed the job in a few hours. Brian showed showed up in time to help clean up and he was also a very good tech. I am so pleased with the service and work that Penfield Plumbing did and highly recommend them.

Went great!!! I called about 3:00 on a Friday afternoon and someone was at my house before 4:00. I was given a free estimate of what the job would cost, which I thought was very fair, and the work was promptly completed. Service Technician was great, very careful not to create a mess and cleaned everything up. I would definately use them again.

I was very pleased with their service. Everything is working properly and draining a lot better. They are very professional.

They helped me make a wise choice between a standard hot water heater and a tankless heater, for my situation. The service was a fairly price, using three estimates. The unit has a good warranty and the service was suburb.

I called around noon on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend after I noticed that a lot of unpleasant stuff had backed up and started to come up through our 1st floor master suite sink. It was a disgusting mess. Anthony called me back in less than 10 minutes. He listened to me ramble about the problem and talked me through a few possible scenarios. He relayed the pricing and told me he'd be out to our place around 1. Anthony arrived promptly at one and I walked him brought the house showing him some the trouble spots. He was very thorough and looked at the problem from all angles. He pinpointed the issue and informed me of the exact cost for what he needed to do. He quickly found the issue of about 80 baby wipes our son had decided to flush down the toilet. Anthony was efficient, clean, and very personable. He even noticed our main drain pipe wasn't sloped sufficiently and put in another brace to help with the issue. We were very pleased with e service, not so much with our son.

We had a water disaster in my family room on July 3rd this year. Our outdoor drain system had failed and was allowing water to backup into our lower level family room, Penfield plumbing came and assessed the problem and sent us a very reasonable estimate. The crew who came to do the work was professional, explained everything, worked very hard, and did an amazing job! I give them the highest rating possible and will definitely be calling them for any future needs. Hopefully not flooding issues!

Great! Dave was terrific. He fixed the drain, suggested we hang a second shower curtain to stop the leaking in the wall, fixed a slow flushing toilet and will be coming back to change out a rather yucky looking faucet set in the downstairs powder room.

It was worth having them come out. They were timely and professional. I do wish they'd have been able to snake the storm drain out from the outside but I do at least have a better sense of what I'm dealing with thanks to their ability to visualize the pipes with the use of a camera.

It went great! I called and scheduled an estimate for work and the plumber Brandon showed up right on schedule. He reviewed the leak, provided a quick and detailed estimate of what he would need to do as well as a reasonable price. He did a great job and was done within 1.5 hours and the work was quality work! I appreciated Brandon's great service. He was friendly, let me know what he was doing the whole way and there were no surprises; unless you count the coupon discount he provided for using Angie's list-that was nice-thanks again Brandon! I would use Penfield Plumbing again-thank you!

Amazing. From the first experience (the estimate) with our technician, Dave M, we knew we were dealing with professionals. Dave took his time and explained the different options we had and the pros/cons of each. He then wrote up a clear estimate detailing what would be done. The price was very competitive and fair when compared against others we'd received. Then came the day of work, Dave and his helper arrived on-time, made sure he understood exactly where we wanted our sink and hookups to go, and went out of his way to pull me in for points of review and feedback. I couldn't have asked for more. He answered all my many detailed questions and found ways to honor my special requests. The work was great, the guys left the area in clean condition, and the installation has been working great. I couldn't have asked for more. I've now got a no-brainer, go-to plumbing company. Highly recommended!

As usual with water issues, they don't give you warning, they just happen. Penfield Plumbing was able to come when we needed them, and due to my job constraints they were able to come at a time that still allowed me to get to work for important matters that had to be handled by myself. The tech was early within the window stated which was a great start. He quickly assessed what needed to be done and provided the options and costs. We agreed on the best plan of attack and that did require him to get a larger machine from the shop, but they are around the corner so that was quick. He and another worker returned and quickly got to work. They cleaned out whatever was causing the obstruction and I was very pleased. The tech also addressed 2 small issues with a disposal and pipe under the kitchen sink, each of which took a minute or so. When they were done they cleaned up whatever dirt had been created. The tech even assessed our sump and water heater just to let us know what to watch for and if we needed to replace either what costs to expect. Good food for thought as we are new to the home and don't know the age of the sump. Although he fixed the disposal he even gave prices for replacement and discussed models and their features for whenever we need to replace the disposal. I felt no pressure to buy other items and felt this was all helpful information I would need for the future.

I didn't know this question was coming. See above. My wife was shopping at Tops and arrived home just before they left. They even carried in her grocery bags for her. Who could ask for more.
