Response from Ray The Plumber
Dear [member name removed], We very much appreciate you complimenting us on our “good work” FIVE YEARS after servicing you by replacing your water heater as well as moving your spigot back in April, 2010. We must have left a very good impression on you for you to respond so many years later, so thank you for taking the time to let us know how much you liked our work. We were quite surprised however to see that you were unhappy with the price of the job when it is our company policy to ALWAYS quote the price of the job before completing any work. In addition, you signed two of our invoices stating you acknowledged satisfactory completion of our work. If at any time you were unhappy with our quoted pricing before we started our work, you could have simply told us no, that you would not wish us to service you at this time, and we would have been on our way. It is truly unfair to think you would have us go ahead with the job at the quoted price, and then post a review FIVE YEARS later, complementing our company for good work, work which you asked us to do for you at the quoted price and then telling us only afterward that our pricing was in your estimation high. We service hundreds of customers a day, supplying a fully stocked truck with competent and friendly technicians who are constantly lauded for their skill and talent. This is not an inexpensive endeavor, but we feel it is the level of service our customers deserve. There will always be a range of pricing in the plumbing trade, but we choose to answer our calls with a live person, not return your call on our answering machine three days later. We hope you can understand that this commitment to excellence isn’t accomplished by cutting corners. It would be greatly appreciated if you would amend your review to reflect the quality of the service you were given and the level of pricing you agreed to. And of course we are always here to discuss any concerns you have about your job, even FIVE YEARS later.
