It went well. They did a good job, I think. I didn't have to run them down, and a manager was on-site for the job and the inspection after. My only complaint was with the gutter guards, when they froze over during the winter.
Description of Work: I had the roof, gutters, and louvers replaced.

It went well. They scheduled a date for an estimate and showed up on time. The estimator was professional and knowledgeable. On the day of the work, the workers came and worked their tails off. They did a spectacular job.
Description of Work: Complete roof "shampoo" on a 2-level roof. The roof looked horrible before - lots of lichen on it. After cleaning it looks like a new roof. The people at Franzoso were very professional. They did an excellent job on our roof.

Called for an estimate for fixing a small leak on a window. During the assessment the guy noticed the caulk was cracked. Said it was quick and easy, so he fixed it on the spot. Only took 20 minutes from him ringing the door till he left. At no time was a minimum price mentioned. Even when I asked how much it will cost me he said the office will contact me. Image my surprise when I recieved an invoice for $225 before tax. I called to ask how 20 minutes of work and a few inches of caulk costs $225. This is when I was first told about the "minimum" charge. Rather rudely too. Anyway I'll be finding a new contractor for any future work.

Found that windows had become worn and rotted and were in need of replacement in our den. We decided to replace the Bow Window with a Bay and because this would entail a new roof over the bay as well as a rework of the exterior siding, we felt it best to have a contractor do this work instead of a window replacement company. They were not inserts and the windows and frames would be pulled out. From the initial visit to discuss window options and what the job entailed to the tear out and install, we could not have been happier. We found that everyone involved with our job could not have been better. Workers were on time, curtious and cleaned up after the job so that you would not know that work was ever done. Minor glitch was the trim came primed and I informed the crew that it would be stained. The following morning when they arrived they had clear trim with them and installed it to perfection. If price is a factor, keep in mind that you get what you pay for ...... It shows on the detail of the work. I would rather pay a bit more and have the quality that comes with it rather then be disappointed with the final product because I cut corners.

Prior to hiring Franzoso, I read their reviews on Angies List. I also checked out several of their references that Franzoso Contracting freely shared with me. Prior customers had only good things to say. In the world of contractors, Franzoso shines. It rises well above the rest. From start to finish, Franzoso was very accommodating and never got tired of my questions. Even though they had many jobs on their calendar, they worked with me to get our roof done as soon as possible. All employees were prompt, knowledgeable and professional. I was concerned about some plantings around the house, but I was constantly reassured that the utmost of care would be taken--and it was. Even the placement of their dumpster was done with care so as not to harm our Montauk Daisies that draped over the driveway ! Mark Franzoso made himself available for questions and concerns. He took time out of his busy day to return my calls promptly. The company is obviously well-run and customer service is a top priority. In the course of the job,the workmen accidentally broke the porch light fixture. This company stood by their word and not only paid for a replacement of my choice, but sent, and paid for, their own electrician to install it. Many Thanks to Project Manager, Jacob Amacher who worked so diligently and patiently to set up the electrician appointment and see it through to completion. Jacob is a stand-out professional whose patience is only exceeded by his pleasant and sincere manner. When I was unable to be home for the electricians, Jacob personally waited for them outside my home to give them the light fixture. When they were done, he even texted a photo of the installed light ! He was available throughout the re-roofing to ensure that all went smoothly. There is a saying, "It's all in the details." Jacob's willingness to go above and beyond just to make things go smoothly, even though the roof was done and the new light was just a "detail" he never made it seem like it was a problem. Honestly, I have hired my fair share of contractors, but not one of them has been as professional and service-oriented as Franzoso. Mark Franzoso prides himself on the fact that his customers do not pay one penny until they are 100% satisified with the work--and he means it ! Who knew that getting a new roof could actually be a pleasant experience?? I highly recommend Franzoso Contracting and would not hesitate to hire them again. If possible, I would rate Franzoso A+ .

The office staff with whom I scheduled the appointment were polished, friendly and totally professional. In general, this seems like a buttoned-up, well-run company with clear sales and estimate materials, etc. They are on the higher end of cost, but in range of the 4 estimates we got on the job. The issue I had with Franzoso - and ultimately whey we did not choose them - was the salesperson. He was so condescending and rude to me during his estimate visit that I literally had to just stop the conversation at one point, and wrap it up. He repeatedly said things to me like, "Don't you know that?" and provided his very negative, unsolicited opinion about many things in our home unrelated to the job, from the heating system, to the height of the ceilings, and so on. He actually went as far to tell me that there were so many things that wrong with the house (unrelated to roofing or siding) that "someone" must have bribed the building inspector (we did not, clearly). I believe the only reason this employee is a sales person is because he is so unpleasant and confrontational that the rest of the lovely staff want to keep him out of the office on sales calls. It is unfortunate, because we would have seriously considered them as a vendor. We even thought of asking them to send a different sales person out because we were unable to get pricing information for the type of siding we were interested in - he felt we should go with a different kind and put that on the estimate. He very clearly let me know that my opinion (or even basic intelligence) were not relevant. All that said, I hope that this man was just having a very, very bad day and that he has much, much better ones moving forward.

If you want to have that HGTV experience locally then Franzoso Contracting is your builder. The experience of having work done the right way the first time was very reassuring. The project took about 7 full days. There were 3 crews: 5 men for siding, 2 men for windows and doors and 2 men for gutters. All the teams were very professional, friendly and had outstanding workmanship. The crews cleaned up and organized the materials at the end of every day and used a blower and magnetic nail sweeper over the grass every day. Even the dumpster driver swept the driveway after he loaded the bin on the truck. In addition, the sales consultant for the project was just as professional. His remodel recommendations for the entire house as a whole were spot on - we had told him what style or feel we wanted to the house and he delivered with a WOW factor. The neighbors noticed the difference and we heard very quickly how great the house looked. There were no issues during the project at all. Any side issues of rot, structural or non-code compliance problems that were found were fixed - the crews showed me the issue and fixed it. Please note these fixes had an additional cost - which in the end was minimal to the overall cost of the project...but knowing that the crews would not bypass problems to me was huge and showed the pride in the team's commitment to quality workmanship. However, there is one downside to this company - demand for its services. It took 3 months for the project to begin: a wait of 2 months when we signed the contract and one month for a permit issue. In addition, no updates were given unless I asked. If I asked - I did get a quick response. This can be an issue if you need to take time off from work. Overall, an excellent experience. I would hire this company again in a heart beat.
Description of Work: Replaced siding, front door, windows and shutters. In addition, fixed any issues related to rot, structural or non-code compliance as they worked through the project.

I used Franzoso two years ago. The house was built many years ago, like forty years ago. They performed the service a year ago, this past winter. We had to stop work because of the snow. It was started in thirteen, the fall of thirteen and we went on as long as we could until it became too dangerous to work in the snow. I did not want anybody slugged down. The job was completed in the spring of 2014, in March. We had to wait for the snow to melt before we could continue. They were excellent to work with. They were very knowledgeable. They had me pick up the color because I knew the exact color of the house. They did not want to get involved in that. I gave them the tint that I had picked up and I had to make sure that the paint was applied to both, not only one but both sides of the wood it was applied, to put outside of the house. Work had to be done on the inside in a warm room because paint can't dry past below 50 or so degrees in the winter time. They quoted me before they started to work for the cost of the entire project. Both for the insurance claim as well as for the work. The insurance was because of trees falling on my roof. The trees put some major holes in the roof and the gutters were torn down by the same trees. I have since cut the trees back. The insurance claim was $6,000. Franzoso are excellent people. They discovered a leak that I didn't know about. My insurance company did not recognize the leak because of an incompetent adjuster. It was a leak in the pipe that goes up through the roof. There was water coming out of not the inside of the pipe but the outside of the pipe and it was getting into the walls. I had no idea what was causing the problem. It was a leak that was caused by a defective installation of the roof. Their pricing is good.
Description of Work: I used Franzoso for a hurricane damage two years ago, almost three years now. I also used them to rebuild an outside wall that was affected.

January 2014 the exterior door was installed. About 6 months later I noticed the seal from the caulking had separated below the door sill. They were very prompt in making the correction with regard to the caulking. The crew removed the door and reinstalled it to my satisfaction. Previously the door was completed with the unfinished exposed wood which was left unpainted. As requested the exposed wood was capped with vinyl. With a premium installation such as this, I expected better finishing work.

However, I never heard from him despite my following up with one of his roofing estimators who was at my next door neighbor's house the following week and who, in turn, called Mark's assistant, Kelly, on the spot. Even if Mark was not interested in the work, the professional thing would have been to still follow up to say so but I guess he's too busy " building his brand" and making money....

Dear Member, You are absolutely right and please accept my apology for not providing you with an estimate. We accepted another opportunity from you, even though you had previously turned us down for two other jobs (new roof and solar), and chose another company due to a significant difference in price, product and workmanship. I reviewed your tentative bathroom retile project and felt horrible over the workmanship and mistakes made. Honestly, the whole bathroom needed to be gutted and the truth is I just didn’t think you were serious about the project nor my company. I shouldn’t have assumed this and again I sincerely apologize. Mark Franzoso is a stand up guy. Called me to make things right after a not so great experience with an employee. It doesn't matter if I end up using him or not that simple gesture means a lot and a bad experience with an employee should not reflect on the owner of the company or the work they do.

Franzoso has attempted to scam me on a roof snow removal. I spoke to sales people and got a quote on the project, but was assured no work would be done until I confirmed and scheduled with them. I called next day and indicated no work needed. A month later a bill showed up. Theyclaim that they went to the house the next morning and performed the work. I spoke to the dispatcher who indicated his policy was that once a credit card has been placed he does the work, regardless of whether customer has approved. I'm working with Credit Card company to resolve since Franzoso would not issue the credit.

Dear Member, We spoke with D.H., the property owner (perhaps your husband), yesterday, March 30th, 2015. We were happy to review his concerns about the price and make adjustments if necessary; however, he was emphatic about not paying anything for the service. We just didn’t think that was fair. On March 9th, 2015, he inquired about snow removal and our Polar Vortex Steamer. It was explained, that since different crews work on these two services, these services would be preformed on different days as available. Therefore, a snow removal appointment was scheduled for this property the following day, March 10th, and the Polar Vortex Steamer was scheduled for March 13th. We only ask for a credit card after explaining the different services, pricing and schedule, and the homeowner only provides their credit card after confirming he/she wants the work done. The credit card is only held, not charged, until after the work is fully completed. For these emergency services, the homeowner has until the morning of service to cancel, which D.H. did on Wednesday March 12th, for the scheduled Polar Vortex Steamer. Unfortunately, we did not receive a cancellation for removing the snow, and as a result we performed the scheduled service. Please feel free to contact us again about your initial concerns. We would be happy to provide you with our documentation again regarding the services performed. Jessica Franzoso Customer Care Manager

From Mark's first visit through the final screw being tightened, I could not have been more pleased and comfortable dealing with Franzoso. The sight manager was very professional, kept me in the loop and advised me on how to handle the manufacturer. Everything was thought out before any action was taken. The workers on the job, were punctual, polite and of course skilled. Never did I feel as though they were hurrying to get to another job. Rarely have I had this comfort level with a contractor. I would absolutely use them again and would recommend them without qualification.

Having no prior experience with siding or replacement windows, we chose Franzoso Contracting based on their history and reputation. We wanted quality work, done as hassle-free as possible. Before work was begun, we were given a list of houses that Franzoso had done previously, so that we could check out materials, colors, and workmanship, which was helpful in making our final selections. Each phase of the project was done by a separate crew: first windows and doors, then siding, and finally, gutters. Each crew was a pleasure to work with. They were personable, knowledgable about their work, and attentive to details. All of our questions and concerns were addressed so that the project was completed to our complete satisfaction. Everyone we came into contact with at Franzoso had a customer-friendly attitude, which we very much appreciated.

Franzoso installed vinyl siding on my home in the middle of the frigid and snow filled winter of 2013-2014. Unless there was actual precipitation falling, the crew was there working, sometimes even shoveling and salting my driveway and yard. Everything from sales to the actual work being done was very professional, punctual and clearly communicated. Did a fantastic job. Recently had doors replaced, same experience. Highly recommended. Not the cheapest option, but the piece of mind is worth it in my opinion. Great customer service and felt very comfortable throughout entire process.

Franzoso installed a new roof and an underdeck ceiling at my home. I could not be happier. Everyone at Franzoso is professional, courteous, true to their word and excellent craftsmen. I used them in the past to put on siding...the same outcome...just perfect. I didn't even seek another bid from another contractor because Franzoso did such a wonderful job on my siding that I knew they would do the same quality work for my roof and deck ceiling. All contractors should take lessons from Franzoso. 110% satisfaction from me.

Where do I start? Everything started when we decided to go solar back in July 2014. We have been talking to numerous solar providers and decided to go with SolarCity. When Kevin from Franzoso knocked on my door on December 23rd 2014, we were already 80% done with SolarCity. We also have couple of estimate from different roofers. We didn?t call Franzoso in the first place even though they are literally 5 mins from our house was due to the fact that I read few negative reviews about them and I will address that later. It was almost dark when he knocked on our front door and when I opened the door, Kevin was not standing right at our doorstep, but he took the extra effort to go down the stairs and waited there. I was really surprised that he did that. After introducing himself, he asked if we will be interested in doing solar and I said yes. Long story short, he scheduled for roofers (Dan) and solar advocate (Alex) to come the next day, which is Christmas eve. Everyone that came was extremely courteous and it was cold that day as well. The biggest surprised that I got was not one, but two phone calls from the owner of the company!! I was invited to his office so that he can personally explain to me how to replace a roof properly and most importantly to find out why we didn?t consider them in the first place. So, I went in and in less than 2 weeks, I gave Franzoso our roof and solar contracts. On a side note, I was introduced to Pete as he will be the person responsible for the roofing project. For those that don?t know him, Pete is a very big-muscular guy and from the moment we were introduced, he have been addressing me ?Sir?, even though I kept telling him to call me by my first name. Extremely-extremely polite. Kept offering me coffee, juices or water and at that moment, I know I don?t have to worry much when the project commence. Wait till you meet him and you will see what I mean. Did I give the contracts to them because the owner was a great salesman? Yes, he was a great sales person, but most importantly I felt that he was extremely genuine. He took the liberty to look through the estimates that I have and compared them line-to-line to his proposal. He looked for samples to show me, and his explanations were amazing. This guy is passionate about roof!!! To make this straight to the point for all of you that are reading this, I will just list all the reasons why we went with Franzoso. 1. Extremely courteous and knowledgeable owner and staffs. 2. Willing to spend a great lengthy time with me even on our first meeting. We haven?t even made up our mind yet on who to go with. 3. Talked to a very knowledgeable and passionate owner and not some random guy. 4. Very family oriented run business. 5. A bit out of our budget, but again, Franzoso uses top of the line materials and not some cheapo materials. Most importantly it is warranted and we will be worry-free for a very long-long time. 6. They have their own crews that will do the installation. 7. Its located 5 mins from where we are. 8. Franzoso took care of everything. Literally everything. 9. Are willing to compromise. Example: we split the cost of tree cutting 50-50 and upgraded from the mechanical operated skylite to solar-powered skylite. We split the difference 50-50. 10. Most importantly, they gained our trust. Every business has its pros and cons and Franzoso also have its own con: lack of parking space. So there you are. Just my humble opinion on why we went with this company. Work shall commence pretty soon and once the roof is up and running, the solar panels will be install. I will update this review once everything is completed. If this work out, we will be calling them for our next projects: basement renovation and energy audit. UPDATE: Work started on March 31st and ended on the week of April 13th. Solar panels were installed after that. We are extremely pleased with the outcome. Benny and his roofing crews were extremely polite and knowledgeable with the roofing part. Henry and his partner did an amazing siding and soffit work. The gutter crew were also amazing. Once the gutter was up, we are extremely happy with the outcome. Mark Franzoso's advice on the color of the siding was right on. It complement the white azek and gutter and charcoal roof so well. We get compliments from all the neighbors when they saw the outcome. There were few minors problems that we noticed after the crews finished with the roof, soffits and gutters. A call to the project manager (Dan Gile) solved the problems. Mark Franzoso, Peter Klatt and Gan Gile were all on board and extremely communicative throughout this project. One thing that we are disappointed about this whole process/job is the sagging in the rear of the roof. I was told that there is nothing that can be done, unless I wish to incurred the cost of ripping out the plywood and raised up the sagged rafter. I looked at the before pics and honestly didn't see any obvious sagging in that part of the roof, but I was told that since we extended out the roof 12", the sagged portion will become obvious. It wouldn't be such an issue if we were told beforehand. Solar work went with a hiccup except with the electrical work. Again, a phone call to Mark Franzoso solved the problems. One last thing that I wish to mention is that Mark Franzoso stopped by our house to personally inspect the work and took some pictures of the things that he think need to be fixed. Since I have been proactively contacting them about pretty much anything that I don't like and wish to be fixed, I decided not to burden them with any problem that is too minor. But, Mark disagreed and have them fixed the next day!!!! My conclusion about this project as well as our personal experiences are as follow: 1. Amazing company. 2. Stellar and extremely knowledgable crews. 3. And most importantly--Extremely understanding and accommodating staffs. This have been a great experiences for us. We have dealt with many contractors that claimed to be professional, but they are not even close to Franzoso Contracting. Thank you very much from the bottom of our heart for all the great work done. Now, there is only 2 more things to do: Get the last part of the electrical work done with electrician that Mark recommended and pay. Yep, Franzoso has not ask for a dime from us yet.
Description of Work: First part: Full roof replacement, rafter installation-sistered to existing rafters to extend the roof eaves for 12” soffit overhang, removal of cedar faschias board and replace with Azek faschias, removal of existing gutters and leaders and replace with new Rain pro high capacity seamless gutter, removal of old mechanical Velux skylight with new solar-powered Velux skylight, and lastly replacing(covered) the left and right upper gable end siding with vinyl siding. Second part: Installation of 28 Silevo photovoltaic solar panels on the front of the roof.

My wife and I met with Mike Babit for an estimate as described above. We called Franzoso because they came recommended to us by a friend, we were familiar with the company from local advertising, and they seem reputable. The rep came 1/2 hour late to the appointment. He called and left a message letting us know this so in and of itself wouldn't be an issue for us. However, from the second he sat down in our home he was so condescending and rude that both me and my wife were insulted. He started by asking us if we had any other estimates, and when we told him we had, his response was, and I quote "so what do you want from me then" with a tone in his voice like were were wasting his time. This rude and at times belittling attitude kept on throughout the entire meeting. Needless to say I was in shock that i, and worse my wife, would be spoken to in such a way in our own home by someone who is soliciting a $20K plus job. I honestly contemplated asking him to leave at several other points during the meeting and wish now that i had. I liked the product, which was a proprietary system that reduces human error during installation, and their price was middle of the road out of 6 estimates. They even offered various trims and other finishing touches that others had not until that point. Unfortunately, we just couldn't bring ourselves to even consider hiring the company after that initial meeting. In fairness, my father subsequently hired them to do some work and had a different experience so you may want to call and judge for yourself. However, i can't believe mine is an isolated incident. Hopefully someone there will care enough to address this issue, we can't be the first to experience this. The only other issue I had was that there was at least a 2 week wait to even get a rep to come for the estimate. Maybe they are just too busy and don't need my business? I don't know...

We apologize for this unfortunate experience and there is never an excuse for one of our customers to feel this way. Customer service is our priority. I contacted you on 3 occasions (12/15/14, 12/16/14, and 12/17/14) as soon as I was notified of your review. Thank you for your returned voicemail and sorry I missed you. I will still appreciate a moment of your time to discuss your concerns. Mark Franzoso

From the first phone call everything was professional and efficient. they came out for an estimate 3 days after the initial call and I got a quote that night. There quote was a great price so I accepted about a few days later they called and said I would be scheduled in a few weeks and if I had any questions not to hesitate to call. Two weeks they called and scheduled me and of course it rained that day so they couldn't perform the work on the roof. another week and they got me in on a Saturday. The guys shower up on time and introduced themselves and got right to work. They were very professional and did impressive work. They cleaned up everything and were done in about 4 hours. I even went up to check there work after they were done and the gutters were secured every foot and you could just tell they didn't cut corners. I am a first time homeowner and this was my first ever contractor hire for work on my home and I couldn't be happier. They will definitely get hired again.

Scheduled a visit for a proposal for a considerable amount of energy efficiency work on my home - perimeter air sealing, insulation, duct work, etc. Spent 1 1/2 hrs with a company rep going thru my home. He said I would get a proposal within one week. After 8 days I called and emailed to inquire when I could expect the proposal. No reply. Have since called and spoken with (very pleasant) office personnel twice and left another voicemail as well. Zero reaction. This is not a small amount of work - based on other proposals it's $15-30k worth of work and I find it absurd that I have to chase after them. They could at least do me the courtesy of a one line email that they aren't interested in the project. I do not recommend anyone to waste their time on soliciting proposals from this company.

Member, I apologize that we fell short meeting your expectations. I reviewed this with our inside staff and the consultant. We strive to exceed expectations on every call and we clearly did not deliver. Michael did have your proposal prepared the day you called to follow up, however, he absolutely should have called to let you know it was delayed beyond the 7 days he promised. When you and I spoke the day after your follow up call I was hoping to apologize directly. Unfortunately, you were still clearly upset, and only discussed your decision to go in another direction by selecting one of the original contractors with whom you had previously met. We appreciate the opportunity and certainly hope you’ll accept this apology. Mark Sackerson

Thank you for a job well done. From the salesperson Richard to the installers, office staff, and project manager, I encountered a high degree of professionalism and courtesy. I was made to feel like this job, no matter how small, was important. Dealing with this company was effortless from beginning to end. I will certainly call them back for other related projects. Thanks again,
