I called two Top rated locksmiths in Rochester, NY from the Angie's list. Both of them came out to my house and gave me their estimate. I chose to work with Glenn for his easy-going nature - found him to be very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Before I called him, other top rated guy came out and gave me an estimate of > $600. He didn't offer whether I would be able to buy my own knobs with color/style of my liking. When I called him to ask about that and to ask whether that would bring the price down, he sort of got offended and told me over the phone that he was done working with me. what??? I couldn't believe it. So I called Glenn (the next top rated guy on the list). He came out to my house and quoted me about ~ $400 for the similar job. When I asked him about choosing/buying my own supplies, he was very receptive about the idea and told me that's a great way to save money. He even told me that my knobs were good quality, high grade products and that I shouldn't replace, but rather fix them to re-used. Something previous guy didn't mentioned to me. So at the end, I chose materials of my preference + saved tons by fixing old knobs instead of replacing with newer, inferior quality knobs. On top of that, Glenn looks at fixing door knobs not just as that but as a whole picture of home security. He helped me out with a front door which had a problem. He also gave me extra "do not duplicate" copies of the keys. He was able to do all of this at $300 - less than 1/2 of what the previous guy told me. I spent about ~$100 to purchase number-key door knob. So the total job was slightly over $400. Through out the whole process of - initial visit, multiple phone call follow ups and finally revisiting and getting the job done, he was very polite, friendly, professional in teaching me how to look for my own supplies, fix things, etc. I couldn't be happier that I chose Glenn instead. Just because his rating is showing up 2nd when you search locksmith in Rochester - doesn't mean, you should automatically call the 1st guy in the list. I highly recommend Glenn! Call him first!

This couldn't have gone better. Mr. Miller fixed a lock that got so far out alignment this winter that within the last week it just stopped being lockable - old house / swelling / shifting - by fixing it he saved needing to replace the lock or even possibly re-frame the door; now, the door closes easily and the lock locks easily.

He was very accommodating. He had the flu and he stayed away until he got better. He was very personable and he gave me information I was not aware of.

I went straight to Angie's List because I saw a 20/20 episode about how many of the locksmiths listed in the yellow-pages are actually a non-local agency where they'll send out someone who doesn't really know what they're doing and will charge exorbitant prices. Glenn is a genuine local professional. I would highly recommend him.

We were extremely pleased with Glenn's service. He arrived on time, was extremely friendly, listened to our questions and provided helpful advice, re-keyed the locks, installed the new deadbolt lock, provided us with 4 keys and cleaned up after himself. Glenn did an excellent job from the time we spoke to him on the phone to the time he drove out of the driveway. He asked a lot of questions to make sure he knew exactly what we wanted. He provided several options with all different price ranges even encouraging us to keep one of the older locks we had since it was so well built and just ended up putting in a new cylinder. Glenn worked efficiently and was very neat, sweeping up at each location that he worked. He also provided us with his thoughts on some other security measures that he had experience with including some amazing tips on securing your house when going away. We went with Glenn based on his reviews in Angie's list and it was the right move. Glen was at our house 24 hours after initial contact, even though we are not in his immediate vicinity. He was professional, knowledgeable, and very effective considering my 3 year old was chaperoning him throughout the house.

We recently bought a new house. Mr. Miller rekeyed all the doors and deadbolts to the same (new) key, changed a door handle for us and gave us a quote for more work to be done later. He was very helpful, on time, cleaned up after himself and we are very satisfied with his work. Very highly recommended.

Door # 1, an outside door. He determined that it wasn't a broken bolt that made it impossible to open, but that it was a door threshhold that had risen from freeze and thaw activity. He fixed the threshhold problem. (He could have hoodwinked us by saying we needed a new bolt, but he didn't, being a scrupulous man.) Door #2, another outside door. He offered to repair the tricky bolt now or wait, if we wanted, until it really broke forever. We chose to buy and replace now. Doors # 3,4,5, inside doors, had loose knobs which he tightened and felt weren't in need of replacement. We are very happy with the options he gave us and his work. He's efficient, honest, responsive, and well-established in the area. On the question about price, I changed it from a "B" to an "A," having decided that his rate is probably right in the ballpark. I trust him to do what's fair for his business as well as for the customer. We will definitely call him for future work. For example, some day we'd like to have all of our door knobs coordinated in color and quality, so he's the man. By the way, we found Glenn MIller Safe and Lock through Angie's List.

Glenn is practically an encyclopedia of security knowledge. He is honest, up front, and it was clear his main concern was improving security and maintaining that security for integrity and longevity. Glenn also provided me with safe literature in which I will be researching and purchasing a safe in the near future in case of a total loss in the event of a house fire. I would be confident in saying that Glenn is the most proficient and competent locksmith in the greater Rochester area and clearly prides himself in doing so. Glenn left the job 100% complete and left no stone unturned when it came to checking for lock and door hardware malfunction, he will be doing all of my lock and door hardware maintenance from now on.

I locked myself out of my building at 9:30 PM on a Sunday night. Glenn showed up within 20 minutes of my call, and had me in the building within 5 minutes. He quoted me his normal price on the phone, but then said he'd give me a break on the quoted price after the job was done because it was an easy fix for him. Nice guy, and pleasant to deal with.

It went great. From the introduction to the completion. Couldn't have asked for better service.
