Description of Work: I am moving in a month and decided to dejunk my house of all the books and magazines I had accumulated over 40 years. I called 1800 got junk and made an appointment for someone to come to my apartment to give me an estimate. the appointment was for four oclock. They asked me if I agreed with the estimate would I let them do the job right away. I said yes. The representative came to my apartment two hours late. He seemed very knowlegible. He explained after seeing exactly what would be carted away that they charged by volume, and it would depend how much of the truck they filled.He estimated between one quarter and one third at a cost betwwen 390 and 490. I agreed and said they could start right away. He said it would take two hours. When my buildings landlord asked him for proof of insurance, he was not able to provide any. He said he would have his office fax it to the building and they would be back the next day at eleven. the next day a driver called and said he was running about an hour late. At twelve I looked out of my window and the truck was there, but no one got out. After a hour I called the company and told them the truck was parked at my building for over a hour now. Ten minutes later two young men got to my apartment. I showed them exactly what they would be taking. They were very polite, but informed me that they estimated about half a truck and that would cost about 683 dollars. I asked how the first estimate could have been off by so much. They said estimates are tough. I agreed to the half truck cost. While the two workers were very polite, they were really unprepared. I had to loan them my hand truck,which they used for every trip. I also had to suggest they use dollies under the large cannisters they brought. They worked at a moderate pace, so it took them almost 4 hours. When they were three quarters done they told me it would be more then half a truck and it would either cost me more or they would not be able to take everything. I got upset and asked again how the estimates could be so off. We agreed finally for them to leave about 10 items. I then paid them the 683 price plus tip(they did work hard).To recap they showed up late twice, the estimate was off by quite a bit and they left a few items so the cost would not go any higher, They did basically get the job done, and the workers were polite,careful and diligent. If the final cost had been near the estimate I would have been satisfied and would use them again, however since this was not the case I would not reccomend them.
