+ 0 moreVince was very nice and informative. He gave us a detailed quote and numerous suggestions. On the day of the work, Vince and his crew arrived and started working. The work was completed quickly and to our liking.
Description of Work: Romoved old carpeting, and fixed squeaky floors. Replaced a light fixture, a faucet, magnetic door stripping, and sump pump. Fixed a loose HVAC vent, installed the water line for an ice maker, caulked windows.

+ -1 moreEverything went well. My only issue was the man that came over did talk too much, I don't mind the guy talking to me but it does slow down the work Which costs me more when paying by the hour.. The man was very nice and appreciate that.
Description of Work: I needed 4 curtain rods installed , shower rod, and 2 smoke detectors. I did want a new themostat installed but the person was not sure about it and I also did not have the key for the basement to turn off the power. So since he was unsure about installing it I said that was ok

Within 15 minutes, he arrived to observe what needed to be done, inquire regarding my preferences and remove the old faucet, "Insta-Hot", and soap dispenser. Then he purchased the Moen stainless steel set including Kitchen faucet, sprayer, & soap dispenser. He returned very promptly and installed all the aforementioned in approximately 30 minutes. He performed the job in a very professional manner and NO LEAKS! Previously, he had performed a variety of other handyman services and did an A++ quality and service. With any handyman service, repair, or problem regarding my home, I will always call Vincent's Handyman Service First!
Description of Work: Removed leaky faucet and an "Insta-Hot" water dispenser. Replaced with a Moen Stainless Steel set including kitchen faucet, sprayer and soap dispenser.

It was done in two visits, one to build and install the stairs and railings and order the storm door, and then a second to do everything else. Vince listened to what I wanted and came prepared to do the job in a timely manner including bringing along enough employees to get it done. Vince and all his employees were polite and respectful of my property. They cleaned up their work area and disposed of their scraps. I was very pleased and would definitely hire Vincent's Handyman Services again.
Description of Work: Vince Paulsen and his employees built wooden front steps, railings for front and back porch stairs, a wooden driveway gate, changed my refrigerator filter, changed the bulbs in my security light, removed the globe from my porch light (so I could clean it), fixed a drawer in my stove, fixed my kitchen sink sprayer, repaired a cabinet door, installed a new storm door, and installed a basement door. This price included all supplies including all lumber, a high-end 8.5 ' storm door, replacement bulbs and refrigerator water filter.

+ -1 moreVincent is a true jack of all trades. His knowledge and experience really shows in his work. His crew was also very diligent in their work and the quality job they did was much appreciated. Considering the appliances arrived without the hook ups, they purchased the correct items and had everything installed in a day. This was not a small job but they took the time to make sure all the new appliances were installed correctly and worked properly. They actually ran the dishwasher through a full cycle! They did a quality job at a fair price and I would highly recommend them for any household job you are considering.
Description of Work: Vincent disconnected and removed all of my old kitchen appliances and countertops then installed all the new appliances. He did a terrific job removing everything without so much as a scratch to any of my cabinets or flooring. The installation went just as well.

+ -1 moreAfter reviewing Angie's list for a handyman I decided to call Vincent's. He arranged for someone to be at my house within 24 hours and I couldn't be happier. The person completed the job in short order, was professional and the best part was the (low) price. My experience with plumbers has been poor because they typically overcharge for very basic work like toilet repairs or installing faucets. Vincent's handyman was extremely capable and only charged $65 plus the $14 for the assembly. VERY REASONABLE!

+ 1 moreWe originally contacted Vince as we needed some molding removed in our dining room, wanted a large mirror unstuck from over our fireplace, plus several other handman items. We hit it off immediately and asked Vince if he knew someone who could build us a garage - turns out that was right up his alley plus bathroom demo and redo which we also wanted. So a couple days of little projects turned out to be close to 3 months and the results are outstanding! Vince was always on top of things and his crew was extraordinary. Lots of attention to detail and we are beyond thrilled with the results. Plus, Vince is a really nice, down to earth, anxious to please sort plus honest and fair as the day is long. We are honored to be able to call him our friend! You need handyman/small construction work done? He's your man.

Description of Work: He replaced some of our siding, cleaned all the mold behing it, and then resealed it. He put installed new insulation and treated wood. He also put molding under a windowsill, helped secure on downspout on the house, and replaced some trim on a flower box. We had splintered siding on the front of the house he was able to fix with siding from the back of the house. The work quality was exceptional and he made it all match perfectly and sealed properly.

+ 0 moreOver the past 35 years, I have dealt with all kinds of tradesman: Builders, Handymen, Contractors, Roofers, Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, etc. I have built one home and bought several previously owned properties in other areas of the USA. Based on my knowledge and experience, Vincent is a unique person. He was very punctual and he returned my initial phone call within a couple of hours and provided an estimate for the work to be done the next day. During all phases of the service, from estimate through completion of the job, he was honest, answered all of my questions, including rationale. The quality of all the work completed was outstanding and his prices were fair & reasonable. In addition, he was very pleasant to work with and I observed all the work being done. The bottom line: First, for any problems/issues relating to my home, I will always call Vincent of Vincent's Handyman Service! If I could have graded Vincent higher than an "A", I would have: in all categories Vincent's Handyman Service is A-Plus!
Description of Work: 1)Replace a door with doorframe from garage to outside of house 2)Replace Front door Storm Door Handle(s),Storm Door Lock; two "pumps" inside Storm Door. The remainder of the services related to the following Electrical issues: 1) One electrical outlet on the outside of the house did not work 2) Two on/off switch panels were wired incorrectly(i.e., Up=off & down=on) and had to be corrected 3) Basement switch at top of stairs turned "On" all ten lights in basement. Per my preference, this was changed to two lights turned "On" when this switch was turned "On" & the remainder of the lights were turned on manually with a Pull-Chain. 4) Electrical wires of two Hanging Lights, over a kitchen island, were shortened to prevent knocking/hitting the glass fixture & possible breakage, in the future. 5) Two sets of floodlights on Right & left side of the back of house and two Lights at Front Door were on Sensors, which automatically went "On" at dusk and remained "On" until approximately 10-11am each day. All of these were removed from the sensors and changed to manually controlled, On/Off switches inside the house. Also, all of the light bulbs of #5 were changed.

They smoked, but I did not find a single butt lying on the ground where they worked. They were very polite and when asked by me if they would mind doing some additional request by me, they did what I asked them to do. I would recommend this company for any work you need around your house without question.

They fixed the jamb where it had broken when the door was kicked in and placed a metal wrap on the door so that it would not be so easy the next time someone one tried to kick it in. I will have them back again in the future.

+ -1 moreWe had several problem areas that we didn't know how to approach, and Vincent came up with workable designs, planned the repair or rebuild and executed well. We were happy with his workmen, they adjusted to problems as they went along (siding repair led into unexpected replacement, for which he only charged the materials). When I needed a lot of small things done at the end of the projects, he gave me a worker for the day and I directed him as needed. Cost was reasonable, and he didn't add on a lot of extras, worked through problem areas and was responsive to my requests.
Description of Work: Replaced damaged siding on side of house and front of garage; repaired gutters and downspouts; cleaned and painted basement walls and some trim in kitchen. Built wood deck railing and gate to ramp. Built window seat in bedroom and replaced damaged paneling. Painted bedroom ceiling and patched damaged areas.

He even threw in a minor repair to the vestibule for no extra charge. I recommend Vincent highly. He was respectful, courteous and efficient.

+ -1 moreHe is very rude, and I felt like he did not fulfill the contract. There was a problem after he completed the work, and I could not get him to come fix the issues. Finally I had to call the news on him to get his attention. He only installed one hand railing instead of two, and he also blew me off. He didn?t use the materials that he said he would use in the contract. My mother is on oxygen; I asked them not to smoke around her. They smoked around her anyway. . Update: Through the Complaint Resolution process, this company was unwilling to work with us and resolve the issue.
Description of Work: He was supposed to work on our deck. The contract stated that he would remove existing boards, railings, and front deck. He also was supposed to install insulation where needed, install pressure treated plywood over joists, install a shield over the plywood, install gray vinyl decking, install handrails, and clean up all the debris.
