Vincent's Handyman Service

Phase 1 was performed in May and was the work was satisfactory; I paid for it upon completion. Phase 2 was a disaster. The shed roof and repairs were supposed to be done once a roofing contractor put a new roof on my house. That contractor even supplied shingles for the shed. I attempted to contact Vincent three different times at the end of July to begin phase 2 - twice by text and the third time I left a message on his cell phone - and received no response. It's like he dropped off the face of the earth. By the time I decided to move on it was the end of August and I am now scrambling to find someone else. Vincent left me high and dry and I can not recommend him.

They did a great job. I have used them before and have always been pleased.

Vincent responded on short notice, was on time, got the job done quickly (replaced the fixture), price was far less than expected. Nice person, trustworthy, have used before. No "senior discount" or "military" nonsense (I had an experience with a contractor raising the price and then giving a "discount," which works out to the same price). Straightforward.

We were very short on time and Vicent and a son came to help us complete this on short notice.

He is very good. I would recommend him to anyone.

This is a family business to include Vince, his wife and son and additional helpers when necessary. It's a team and every task on my punch was completed professionally...like they were working on their own home.

We were finally re-doing our kitchen and bathroom which we were very excited about. However, this experience was far from pleasant. Before the granite countertops could be installed, the sinks had to be removed. He uninstalled the sinks for both the kitch and the bathrooms. The very next day our ceiling was leaking through our kitchen (our upstairs bathroom is right above the kitchen) I called him and he sent someone to fix the problem the next day. However, it left a stain on our kitchen ceiling which he said he would fix- never did and the stain is STILL on our kitchen ceiling. He also installed wooden corbels and said he would finish them at a later date but did not finish staining them or properly installing them (they are not properly installed on the island). A few weeks after installing the countertops he installed the backsplash and said he would come back in a couple days to finish the rest of his work. He never did. I called him multiple times and he never called back or answered. I couldn't even leave a voicemail because his voicemail box was full! We also had to remove our cupboard above our stove to install a microwave. We also had to install lighting fixtures in the kitchen that were ordered. We also had to fix our backdoor. We also had to paint our bathrooms. Mr. Vincent knew about all of these projects when we first met with him. Very unprofessional to leave a job unfinished and not respond to your customers. If he was "too busy" to finish his work he should have at least informed us and finished what he started- the wooden corbels. Not to mention the work he did do for us, we experienced similar situations where he would not answer his phone for weeks at a time and not let us know when he was returning.

He did an excellent job. I was very happy with the work that was completed.

Vincent never followed through with ever giving us an estimate and after multiple attempts to get an estimate for the work we gave up. When he did the walk through we stated we wanted the work done right away and he seemed interested in doing the work. ZERO follow through!

Vincent showed up at the agreed upon time to help me out, which was appreciated, because I didn't give him much notice. He was very knowledgeable and professional, did a great job, and the cost came in on the low side of his estimate. I couldn't ask for anything more!

When Vincents' crew came to our house to start removing the existing roof there were only two workers. The "clean-up worker was to come over later in the day. They started by hanging tarps from the gutters. They did NOT use plywood for support under the tarps to protect the landscaping. A couple of hours into the removal of the old shingles, the tarps fell down from the weight of the shingles sliding on them. (And because they weren't secured properly.) Now for the completion of the front side of the roof, the old shingles and roofing paper were falling directly on the WHITE VINYL RAILINGS and our LANDSCAPING in the front of the house. The two workers finished about 7 pm that evening. The clean up guy never showed up...so THEY LEFT ALL THE DEBRIS ON THE PLANTS AND FRONT PORCH AND RAILINGS OVERNIGHT! the next morning, when they returned, They started replacing the shingles on the front roof. They assured me that the cleanup worker was coming to take care of the mess in front of the house. The cleanup worker arrived around 11:00 am. The contractor didn't bring a wheelbarrow with them. He used my wheelbarrow for a half dozen trips, and then stopped working after lunch. They told me a nail punctured the tire on my wheelbarrow, but they would replace it. Around 4:00-4:30 all three of them got into their cars and left. I thought they were going to get dinner, since all the debris was still in front of the house. They left for the night. I called the owner and sent him pictures. He apologized, and said it would be taken care of tomorrow. The next morning the two roofers arrived, and would not speak to me. They were upset because the owner called them and yelled at them. Then the two roofers proceeded to clean up the front of the house. They finished about 11:00 am. They then told me they were leaving for the day. The older roofer told me he promised his wife he would shampoo their carpets that day! The workers eventually finished the house roof and the garage roof on LABOR DAY (YES the holiday morning they were there banging on the roof at 8:00 am) After taking the previous Saturday off! (A warm 80 degree day!) The worker told me they didn't work weekends??? The owner called me as soon as the work was done to ask for payment... I asked him to reimburse me for the tire on the wheelbarrow. He said he would pick one up for me.. after texting him the size, and two more messages reminding him about the tire... I went out and purchased a tube myself for the tire. He then told me the new tire is in the back of his truck, he just didn't have time to drop it off. THIS IS MORE THAN A MONTH LATER! I then noticed something was wrong with the drip edge installation on the garage roof. These "professional roofers" installed the drip edge behind the j-channel for the siding on the garage. Now any water the runs off of the side of the roof, or that gets blown in from the wind, will run behind the siding and get the wood wall of the garage wet. I attempted to contact Vincent (the owner), and asked him to come out and look at this problem, he ignored repeated texts and pictures I sent to him. I still haven't heard from him to date (03/30/2015) I personally had to remove the siding from the top of the garage and reposition the j-channel to help divert the water from going behind the siding. I suffered a stroke previous to having the roof installed...(This was the reason I didn't do the work myself!), and now I had to climb a ladder to fix a problem that should have been taken care of by the contractor (who wouldn't return my calls!

They were very punctual and stayed with work until completed. Very happy with work done.

Vincent and his son showed up on time and prepared to complete the work. They worked quickly and efficiently. In addition, to doing to quality work and meeting my expectations; they left the work area as it was before they arrived - clean. My overall impression is that they take pride in their work and leave no detail out. My only complaint is of other angie's list members. Like many contractors who don't sub out work, understand that they book work as it comes in, so don't expect them to drop jobs just to suite your 24 hour demands.

Took a week for him to come over, came over on a Friday discussed what i needed done, (also told him if everything worked out well I would have more work to be done in the future) he told me he would call the next week with a estimate. ........NEVER HEARD FROM HIM..........i realize this is a busy time, but he could of had the professionalism and common decency to call and say he too busy right now!

The job was completed as per our agreement. Happy with the end result.

"No job too small" is a perfect motto for this company. When I called to schedule a visit, I didn't expect Vincent to do the work because I felt it may be "too small". I also expected that we would discuss what needs to be done, price, and when the work would be done. To my surprise, the work was done that same day and in less than 30 minutes. Very impressive. Vincent was on time too boot!! His business card is now at the top of my business card stack because I would call him for any type of work that needs to be done.

Vincent did some work, but he also had young unskilled workers that did jobs while he left. I am not sure how often he was even there.The laminate flooring was the shottiest work I'd ever seen. In some places, he never put the backing down. The laminate flooring was done in an unprofessional manner. He said he'd fix it, but he never did. He never finished the deck after tearing it up. He was there for about a week, but then left for personal matters while other workers would be there. He came back and looked at what was done. I told him that everything was done wrong, and he then left in a huff. He said he had multiple people complaining about the work of these workers as well. As he was progressing, I was giving him money and paid for the material. I am a retired contractor, and although it was hard for me, I ended up completing the work myself. I've called on several occasions, and he refuses to answer anything. He has never returned my calls.

Vincent responded quickly and worked me into his schedule. I wanted a fallen tree removed off a fence before the fence fell down completely.

Perfect - punctual for all appointments. Fast esimate. CAME BACK to finish all aspects of job! completed job on time - if not a little ahead of schedule. Very happy with results:)

One of Vincent's man was in charge of the work, bringing a helper some days. They worked efficiently and reasonably cleanly. What we especially liked : some days they were there for several hours ,others only a short time. They were well prepared and gave the paint plenty of time to dry. The men showed up as planned or called in advance. The solution for repair of the bathroom ceiling was Vincent's idea and appears to hold up well. Also looks pretty. We have several other projects and look forward to working with this handyman's service soon again.

They installed cement board in the shower area,the rest using green board. All the materials were supplied by me.They put in 12inch floor and wall tile as well as a vanity ,medicine cabinet, lights and all the fixtures for the sink and bath.They also put in a new toilet as well as 2 niches in the tub area walls. These men were great to work with,polite,neat,always on time and the price was very reasonable. Their bid was the lowest of 4 I looked at but I selected them for what they said they would do,and they did all that and more. I will use them again this summer for a couple other projects I have.Again, they were a great crew and if you need work done give them a try.

He gave me an estimate that was reasonable and I WISH I HAD USED HIM!!!! I felt I needed to go with the first handyman who responded. Boy, was I wrong!!! Wish I had used Vincent

Vincent and his crew were great to work with. We interviewed 3 different contractors, and his price was significantly less than the others. He completed the job on time and within budget which was the most important thing to us. He was friendly and kept in contact throughout the job to make sure we were happy with the results along the way. We were so pleased with his work that we asked him to install additional flooring in the foyer, which he was able to do in the same time schedule as our initial agreement. We have more outdoor work planned for the spring, and we will definitely be calling Vincent again to help with those projects. We would HIGHLY recommend Vincent to anyone!

I have called Vincent's for several small jobs and to completely rip out a shower/tub. I found all my experiences with him and his workers to be as advertised. The bathroom work was a shower/tub converted to a standup tiled shower. This job was done wonderfully. It ran over a few days but if that's what it takes to do it right, and that's how any real remodel project can go. I would highly recommend him. Thanks Vincent.
