Description of Work: Spilotras removed wallpaper in our main bathroom,and then prepped and painted the walls, ceiling,doors, a skylight shaft and radiators --- some of which required a substantial amount of spackling and plastering and also a bit of carpentry. At every phase of the job, from estimating and pricing through the final cleanup,they performed superbly. Jose, who did all of the actual work, was exceptional in every way --- his workmanship, efficiency, attention to detail, and personal manner. Stated simply, he could not have been better and we could not be more pleased with the outcome.

Description of Work: After a terrific experience with Spilotras on the exterior of our home, we hired them to stain and treat a brand new showcase 900 SF deck. We opted for a semi-transparent Benjamin Moore arborcoat stain with a clear coat finish. They did an absolutely awful job. The stain was applied unevenly over 90% of the surface with large blotches of cloudiness and some areas with heavy application and other areas light. Bleach stains were all over the place and there was one spot that was left untouched. After much back and forth that included representatives from Benjamin Moore to rule out any product defect, they agreed to redo the job. The end result after their fix is that we have TWO coats of semi-transparent stain instead of one, which makes for a semi-solid look - not what we wanted at all in our rustic, woodsy environment. Their final price was $3100 - we offered $1600 and settled on $1900 but now wish we had not given them a dime. Both Rob and Mike, the two owner brothers - were nasty, rude and condescending. We will never do business with them again. They state they are a multi-generational company on their website, however this is not true. Mike Spilotras told us he started the company. They also state that all of their painters are trained and qualified. This is also obviously not true. Unfortunate for us, we found out the hard way!

Description of Work: Front doors, 3 both sides, vestibule molding, inside baluster railing, 3 newels, and edges of inside stair treads were stripped of black paint. Door hardware carefully removed and replaced.
