First call, recommeded that the battery be changed. So the cost of the battery, install and service call was paid. Still the routine testing failed and they had to be called back. There was a question of the circuitry. Again, paid for a service call. Again, the testing failed. At that point they called the company and corrected the issue. I did not get charged for the third call. The question remains, did I really need a new battery for the generator.

Let me begin by saying that the generator is terrific. We have experienced several short-term storm-related power outages since the generator was installed in November, 2014, and the generator has worked like a dream. Definitely a good product and investment. The problems we experienced in our interactions with Zenner and Ritter (hereafter referred to as Z&R) were as follows: 1. Z & R failed to obtain a building permit from the Town of Lewiston prior to beginning installation of the generator. A permit is required. We originally contracted to have the generator installed in August, so that Z&R had from August 2014 to November 2014 to obtain a building permit. Z & R lied to us about having the permit. The Town of Lewiston building inspector verified that Z & R had submitted an application for a permit the day before construction began, but that the permit was not issued until weeks later, and that the work was in fact begun and essentially completed without a valid building permit. Fortunately the Town of Lewiston did not fine or penalize us. 2. The electrical sub-contractor Z&R sent to make the changes to our electrical panel to accept the generator hookup did not do the work to code, and the work failed the initial inspection. The sub-contractor repeatedly failed to return to complete what was essentially a 30 minute repair. Z and R failed to follow up in a timely fashion, so that an installation and inspection that should have taken a week at the most took over 5 months to resolve. [The electrical contractor was separately reviewed on Angie's List under the business name: Melton Electric.] Z and R kept re-assuring us that the work had been done and the inspection approved when in fact NO ONE had been out to do the repairs, the second inspection had never been scheduled because the repairs had never been done, and the Town of Lewiston building department never received the mandated approval from their inspector signing off on the electrical installations. Z&R finally sent out a different electrical contractor, who completed the repair to the satisfaction of the electrical inspector 5 MONTHS AFTER THE INITIAL INSTALLATION. 3. Z & R's billing department overcharged us repeatedly by $900, because they mistakenly creditied our downpayment to some other customer's account. It took several go-rounds with copies of the canceled checks to get them to correctly credit our payments. We found the staff at Zenner and Ritter to be very disorganized and either woefully uninformed about what their techs had or had not accomplished or downright prone to dissembling. We love the generator, but will never, and we mean NEVER do business with Zenner & Ritter again.

They provided me with options. It has been great. They were prompt. They were honest and upfront. They were efficient.

They answered all my questions over the phone before the installation. I believe the name of the two technicians were Dave and Bill. They were prompt, on time, and went right to work. I could tell their complete concentration was on removing the old hot water heater and installing the new one. It was all business. The job from start to finish took about 1 1/2 hours. I would recommend them.

He couldn't be more accommodating, actually he went way above and beyond doing something that he couldn't do and he brought someone in for us to help us. They were great, they were very enthusiastic.

It was good. I had no complaints. I was very satisfied by the way he was explaining how I could save money and were the heat company can help me but I never actually received that report so I don't know what happened. He was supposed to come and check my basement pipes, furnace and for any gas leakage, any air leakage around the windows. He did all of that. He was making notes. He was there for about 2 and a half hours. I wasn't with him all the two hours but he said he would send me a report but I never received it. The day I bought the Deal, I got scheduled about 2 weeks from that.

I would love to let everyone know "how it went" but they never showed up. I had to go with a different company to provide my needs.

The men that came was very nice. I thought they were giving me the right information but we had an overflow tank on the old one, they asked if I wanted to keep it, I said well do I need it, they told me not necessary so they took it away. Come to find out I did need it. Then we got charged extra and had to buy more so I was a little upset about that. I felt I was given misinformation. I bought the water heater through Home Depot and they contract out to provider to install. We were able to work things out with Zenner and Ritter Heating and Cooling.

Thanks for making the prompt appointment for us. However, I was disappointed that the service man Mike never gave us a written diagnostic report which we explicitly requested. We wanted to know exactly what was the problem in writing, and the cost estimates for repair from this service call. I also talked to another guy Kevin who told me Mike was tied up, but he would send me the report, along with repair estimates in writing. I gave the vendor my fax number and email address but never receive them. I think the job was not properly done from the customer's perspective. More importantly, the vendor fail to deliver the diagnostic report and cost estimates in writing, which was what we were essentially pre-paying for. Don't use them.

The service I asked for went well. But the tech did try to upsell me on cleaning my heating ducts. I know that they make money doing this, but nearly everything I read about this says it is complete waste of money.

Great. They were done in about 3/4 day, cleaned up, took time to explain how to use the unit.

First truck came out but didn't have necessary materials. Second truck came out and made repair same day. A few days later we noticed it was still dripping. Called them and they came back out and fixed second leak that was missed the first time. No charge. Would definitely use them again.

This firm is our regular company for HVAC ever since they were able to fix our new furnace. This furnace was purchased and installed by another company. On very cold days it would stop working and not start working until it warmed up. After the installing company could not figure out the problem, and wound up selling us a new thermostat which we did not need, we called Zinner & Ritter and they sent someone out the same day. It turns out that the furnace was not installed properly. In no time at all, they had it working properly, and since the problem was installation and not parts, it didn't cost that much. Ever since then, they are our HVAC company.

Very professional and explained to me everything I needed to know in order to complete the job.

They came on a Sunday to give us an estimate. The guys were great that installed it. They cleaned everything up and they stuck to their estimate. They also cleaned up all the water that came out. They put tarps down so they did not ruin my rugs or floors. They did a really good job. They also were perfect with my dogs. I would recommend them.

Exactly like it should. Scheduled, arrived on time, removed old boiler and installed new one. No fuss, no mess.

Well Chris and Big mike came to my home, Chris who I also know from doing and estimate for and air conditioner that I eventually had them install and that worked out Great ice cold air all summer no problems at all . Didn't disappointment me this time either they were very professional explained to me everything I needed to know and was very reasonably priced.

This is the third time I used Zenner and Ritter over the last 4 years - they previously installed a furnace and then later installed central air for me. All went perfectly just like the prior installs. They are prompt an efficient, and on each of the three times I used them they had the best price for comparable equipment. They have been quick to respond to my post-install questions for all three items.

I only use Zenner & Ritter for my heating and a/c needs. After a bad experience in 2002 when my furnace kept turning off and calling two other companies and spending hundreds of dollars in parts that were not defective , Zenner & Ritter came and knew what the problem was right away. A signal box firing intermittently. Ever since then I only call them.

I don't understand why they are so hard to get an estimate from. Two calls to get them to come out and then two tries to get them to send me the estimate. I finally went with another local Heating firm and spent six thousand dollars on a new furnace and central air conditioner. I find it very rude and bad business to ignore a customer who is trying to spend his money with you.

Nothing to tell. He came, looked at generater. Determined it needed a battery replacement. Returned within 20 minutes and installed. Ensured that it started. Set timer to test everyweek. Very pleasant and professional.

The evaporation pan was a lot of work. That was $300.00 of the total. I thought that was high but it did take a long time and the guy explained every detail. He really was a nice guy, very professional. I would not hesitate to call them again.

I had a bad experience. After the installation, the breaker kept breaking. They sent out an employee and he stole my sterling silver rings and jewelry that totaled over $20,000. The employee was also charged in Amherst when he did work there. The police came out and they couldn't lift his fingerprints and there was nothing they could do. The police did recover the receipt from the pawn shop he sold my jewelry. The company didn't do anything about it, and I never got an apology. All he could offer me was to try and get something out of my home insurance. I would NEVER recommend them. Buyer beware.
