The estimate went really well. The contractor was on time and very nice. We decided not to have the service completed (this had nothing to do with cost or the provider), however for future plumbing issues we will definitely call T-Mark.

They were very good and everything seems to be looking good.
Description of Work: T-Mark Plumbing, Heating and Cooling put a new toilet in for us. We had trouble with the toilet so they came and they tried to fix it but the toilet was old and it doesn't have enough pressure. They also went down into the basement and did the pipes. They checked into the interiors to see that there were no blockages down there.

The service for the big deal from T-Mark Plumbing, Heating & Cooling worked out well, they were great. They did what they were supposed to do. They have come back several times since then and done work on my heating system. They did it for renewal price. For the heating service the cost was 49 dollars of the big deal. They are fine, they are nice. They show up when anything is broken and I like them.
Description of Work: T-Mark Plumbing, Heating & Cooling did an annual heating service. All they did was an inspection to make sure that my system was working properly.

Steven showed up on time and was very professional and polite. He did a great job and installed quality parts and a brand name sump pump. He made a point of educating me on what he did and how to maintain everything properly. At first I felt the price was on the high side but when you subtract the cost of the parts and pump and factor in the 3 hours he was on the job, it comes out to a bargain for a high quality plumber. Plus, they guarantee their work. I am very happy with T-Mark

Called on a Saturday at 3:45 pm. A lovely woman took my info and advised that the on-call technician would call me shortly. At first I thought there was no callback so my initial review was unflattering. That review prompted Ryan, one of teh owners, to call me on Monday to address a "less than acceptable review" I found a "No Caller ID" number at the approximate time he advised that he called. Due to work I don't answer without a caller id on the weekend so this was an unfortunate situation. I can't fault Ryan for not calling back (I may have an opinion of coller id for a service technician but that's a business decision) so I retract my original comments and leave with a nuetral opinion. I do commend Ryan for taking the reviews seriosuly and contacting me to discuss. Wouldl I give them a shot in the future? Yes...

I totally agree in regards to the no caller ID issue. We are in the middle of upgrading the ways and systems by which our offices/techs and finally customers are communicating. Their have been some... hiccups... in all the changes, and for sure learning experiences. I truly appreciate your understanding in the situation and hope we get to come out and help you soon with your next plumbing or heating project.

When they actually got there but, when he left, he forgot to turn the furnace back on. When I called them back, it took a little while to get a hold of him. But when I called them back, he promised to come out and give me a free, you know, our furnace here, but I probably won't call him because I was just kinda like, you know. If it was something major that I had them come out and do, I'll kinda be worried.

Miss [member name removed] is completely correct. As we were finishing the job, the power switch was turned off in order to clear out the condensate drain on the unit. As I was packing up my tools and talking to the customer, I forgot to turn that switch back on and was on my way. CERTAINLY a mistake on my part. She called my office, and I called back and turned around within minutes of her phone call to us. I told her I had a suspicion I may have have forgotten to turn the power back on, so she went downstairs and flicked the switch, and everything worked fine. Out of a courtesy for this mistake, we refunded the entire cost of the furnace tune up, and hope that Miss [member name removed], or any other Angie's List member does not hesitate to use us in the future.

T Mark advertise as 24/7 for water emergencies. I called at 6:30 on Sunday morning, leaving a message I had frozen water pipes, a water emergency. It's 24 hours later, no one has called back. I feel a company shouldn't advertise what they can't respond to. At the very least, have the courtesy to at least give a call back one way or the other.

They were very hard to schedule with and I had to keep calling to remind them to get something scheduled with me. They also had to re-schedule due to the weather. Once they were able to come out, the plumber himself was great. He also fixed some minor things for me and educated me on my plumbing. They just need some help with their admin work.

The work was done, quickly and courteously. However, when the faucet knob was put back on, it must have been put on "backwards." Now whenever the water is turned on or off, it must go contrary to your instinct. Minor annoyance; the sink works.

The inspector spent about an hour and fifteen minutes at the house. He was patient as I asked many questions about my boiler and it's condition as well as how all the parts work together.. The camera feedback was quite extensive and enlightening, as I could see the areas that may be cause for concern in the future. The inspector did not push me into replacing my unit at this time. He did suggest yearly inspections, for which I would get a discounted price as a return customer. He quoted me a price for a new boiler so I would know how to budget for it when the time came.
Description of Work: The inspector took off the covers of the boiler unit and did a thorough visual inspection of the unit. He also used a camera, snaking it around, looking for "wear and tear". He showed me possible concerns down the road that I would want to have checked on a yearly basis. He checked for any possible gas leakages also. The price I paid was an "Angie's List" special price and was well worth it. It had been too many years since I had the unit inspected.

When the other company's technician arrived I described how the valve blew on top of the boiler. He asked "when is the last time you had this boiler serviced" and told him November.... by T-Mark. He checked the control for the boiler pressure and found it not working. He removed the control and then removed a "circle" copper pipe going to it...it was fully plugged...he cleaned it and reinstalled it. He told me that the steam pressure was not going to the control (because of the plugged up tube) thus allowing the pressure to build extremely high in the boiler and blowing the emergency release valve. He stated that a "servicing of a steam boiler should ALWAYS include cleaning the loop tube and the sight glass"...neither was done by T-Mark ( I observed both contractors during the entire servicing of my boiler. The other technician then checked every radiator in my house...replacing 4 relief valves and tightening 5 valve stem nuts that were leaking (also part of a tune-up). Result is that I now have to fill my boiler rarely instead of every day during the coldest days! T-Mark...nice guys..lack the knowledge to repair STEAM BOILERS....CALL a different company.
Description of Work: Purchased a $100 service furnace deal before winter cold on Angie's List and was originally happy with the service. I had them back again to repair the vent on my furnace as I was traveling between Florida and Buffalo and did not need any problems. My steam boiler BLEW on 1/1/2014. I called for service and they were NOT available. I called another company.

[removed member name] We understand your concern and apologize for your troubles. Our technician spoke with you on New Years Day, and an appointment was made for the following morning. You had called us twice before with other service issues and we were there in under an hour (as noted in your previous, more positive, review) Cleaning of the siphon tube going to the pressure transducer is not something we normally do in a steam boiler cleaning, in 30 years in the trade I have never once heard of this problem happening. It is certainly something we will evaluate performing on future maintenance calls. Thank you for helping to improve our overall service.

Our bathroom sink drain began leaking badly after a plunger attempt on a Friday night. After consulting Angie's List, we found T-Mark Plumbing with 24/7 emergency service. A call on Friday night got an appointment for Saturday morning, between 9:00 - 11:00 am. The phone rang at 8:45 am, confirming that Pat was on his way. Pat was there at 9 am, and after a quick inspection, determined that the pipes were good, just clogged. He snaked the pipe in the wall, replaced the trap and tightened all connections. We mentioned that we were going to replace the vanity, and he gave us a quote for that as well as a back-up sump pump we were thinking of as well. Pat also offered his advice as to which fixtures in his opinion had fewer problems and were more reliable. I told him we had a coupon from Angie's List, and it was no problem. Prompt, friendly and quick - he was done in about 45 minutes! We'll certainly keep T-Mark Plumbing in mind for our future plumbing needs.

After discovering a huge mess in my basement where the sewer had backed up, I called 3 companies to come out to give estimates. The first company came withing 1.5 hours, but were very expensive and said they could not perform the needed work until early the next week. T-Mark plumbers came within 2 hours, at about 5:00 pm. The plumber did a quick inspection of the front yard and the basement. He gave me a written estimate of $2375 and told me that he would be able to complete the work the next day. The small excavator arrived in my front yard by 7 am, and the crew of 2 started by 9 am. The work took most of the day, but they were very good. They spent time to make sure they knew what the problem was, and assured me that it would not cost more that the original quote. The other company had told me it may cost as much as $15,000. ! Ten days later I had a recurrence of the back up. I called the company back, in a panic, but with the 6 month guarantee they came right out and fixed the problem again. The second plumber explained why the problem happened again, and also told me what to do to fix the problem in the future.

I was told in the email I received that I would be contacted within 48 hours. Finally after a week I called them and they returned my call a day later. I made the appointment and the technician came out and ran a test upstairs. Without looking at the heat exchanger itself, he said that based on the test he ran, it needed to be replaced (he said it was cracked). He gave me a quote to replace the heat exchanger at around $3500. I got other quotes from some other companies and while the heat exchanger needed to be replaced, the other quotes were between $500 - $1000 less to do the same repair. I of course ended up using a different service provider to perform the work.

Response from T-Mark Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric
This was an unfortunate situation. She is absolutely correct on the late response on our end, we had just started selling the coupons through Angie's list and were learning the ins and outs of the program. In regards to the heat exchanger, we use a combustion analyzer to detect wear and cracks in heat exchangers. This is a scientific process that gives us 100% certainty in regards to the condition of the heat exchanger. We came into her house and truthfully found a life threatening level of carbon monoxide and showed her on our meters. This is a sighting most customers would be very grateful for. We gave her quotes for high end, high efficiency equipment to replace it with, as well as a quote for an 80% swap out, under $2000, which she fails to mention. She was wary of our diagnoses which she did not express to the technician at the time of the appointment, so she called around, and expressed this concern to another company, who then physically removed the ductwork to show her the crack. Personally I have found this practice to open the customer up to getting lied to because their are many marks on a heat exchanger that are not cracks and pose no threat to a customer. But I do understand that some people would like this sort of reassurance when they are being told they need to replace their equipment, so we will certainly take that and learn from it. I regards to the price, she received less efficient and less quality equipment. Not an apples to apples comparison. She even told me the install was not completed to her satisfaction. I found this review to be a little harsh, as we did everything we could to help her out, using the most accurate tools and best practices. Every customer is different and we will most certainly learn from this situation but we hope it does not deter any new customers from giving T-Mark a chance. Thank you for taking the time to review this review.

I heard about T-Mark from Angie's List and bought a Deal for an annual checkup on a furnace. The owner Ryan was very professional and called before arriving on time. He was courteous and answered any questions I had in a very thorough and instructive manner. Ryan also advised me on how I could save money in the future! Ryan also pointed out the pros and cons of water heaters (on-demand vs. tank) which may be needed in the future. I will definitely be using T-Mark for next year's air conditioning service and for any other plumbing and HVAC needs.

Water heater flush was fine but the deal was to include a whole house plumbing check which was not done. I asked the person that did the flush if he was going to do the check and he stated all he does is flush water heaters and is not a licensed plumber. The reason I took advantage of this was to have my plumbing checked which was not done.
