We purchased our home and needed the entire home re-painted. CertaPro had the best price and the quality was amazing. We had estimates performed by 3 companies and CertaPro was the least expensive. I was a little worried at first going with a larger company as opposed to a small shop, but CertaPro proved me wrong. The two painters painted for seven days straight and the work was meticulous. I highly recommend CertaPro.

They sent two teams of two painters. One team was neat and did good work. The other team was totally incompetent. Almost everything that the second team did had to be redone by the first team. In some cases, entire walls or ceilings had to be repainted. There was an obvious lack of mutual respect between the two teams, too. We spent months getting paint specs off of furniture, flooring, art work and personal items. CertaPro kept coming back and agreeing with the problems which we found. If the first team came back to do th work, it was corrected. If the second team returned to do the work, there were issues.

Dominic came out for an estimate. During the discussion, we found his proposal to be fair. We had intended to have the job done when we returned in April, he indicated that he could have it done before we left in a few weeks. We could not imagine this work could be done in two days. We were asked to remove all the paintings, shelves and window treatments. The crew showed up on time. Mike, Joe and Don went right to work. Mike walked through the job with us, noting all our requests. They moved furniture, laid down drop cloths everywhere and by the end of the first day, had two coats on the living space and our furniture returned so we were comfortable that night. They came the next day and completed the work without one mistake by them or complaint by us. We were very impressed with the speed and quality of their work, they could not be more accommodating.

Estimator showed up on time, went over what I wanted which was to re-stain with 2 coats my cedar shake shingles with Sherwin Williams Woodscape Solid on front of house and repaint my shutters. Estimator provided some ad-dons to paint trim and garage door with Sherwin Williams Superpaint which I agreed. He went to his car to print out quote. After reviewing it I pointed out some errors that included paint products used and # of coats. He said it would not affect price. He did not fix it on the spot, which should of been a warning sign. He asked when I would I would know if I would use them. I told him I was waiting on another estimate and he left. 2 weeks later, I decided I wanted to move forward and called estimator and asked him to send me over the updated quote with his errors fixed. I also mentioned I saw a coupon on website for 100 off $1000 and wondered if I could use it. My job was shy of the $1000.00 coupon limit, but he agreed to $50 off which was fair. He said he would send over the updated quote that day. Called him again next day because I didn't receive and he said he had some technical problems, but he fixed and was sending it over via email. Well after review, he made SIGNIFICANT changes. This is completely unacceptable as he did not mention he was going to do these changes. He went from 2 coats on cedar shingles to 1 coat, which even Sherwin Williams recommends 2 thin coats. He changed the paint product from a superpaint to duration product for the addons and reduced to 1 coat as well. But left the shutters with the superpaint product, which was probably another error on his part. I disputed the changes with estimator and he apologized but would not honor original estimate. He first attempted to blame it on me asking for additional discount with coupon as reason to requote job. Then he backed away from that on the phone and said the quote was almost 2 months old and it needed to be re-quoted and he would have to come back out.. Remind you back on their proposal states quote is good for 60 days and it hasn't been 60 days yet. Why would I want the same estimator to come back out and waste additional time potentially. At this point I wanted to speak with owner as I felt as a potential customer I was experiencing extremely poor customer service with this employee and did not wish to speak with him further. I sent a followup email with business owner copied in. Dominic, the franchise owner, called me and left a message. I called him back, though he was polite, he would NOT HONOR the original quote and stated his employee under quoted the job as the sole reason. I stated that was his opinion as other quotes were in line. He said if I would of mailed in original proposal, he would of honored it. I explained I couldn't sign it as it had large errors and employee did not fix day it was written when I pointed the errors out. One part of contract said 2 coats and the other part said 1 coat. Also had the stain going on addons and paint going on cedar so it was reversed. The actual painters or any neutral 3rd party would look at contract and wouldn't know what was right. If there is one thing I know which contractors, you must get the scope of work WRITTEN and not accept VERBAL I explained I did everything right in good faith. I even allowed them to do the addons with 1 coat with a better paint product, because I was covering brown with brown and 1 coat would be acceptable. However I wasn't going to budge on the 2 coats for cedar. I was changing colors and Sherwin Williams the paint manufacturer recommended 2 coats, not one. I asked him to stand by original quote/price and honor it, but my request was rejected. I am flabbergasted that this company does not stand by their WRITTEN PROPOSALS. My personal opinion is that it was done intentionally as that is the only logical explanation. Dominic told me the employee was with him 7 months. I would of expected the employee to be trained by that time. Customer service was non existent starting with OWNER and trickling down to employee. Certapro first value on their website is "Always deliver what we promise." -> This did not happen. They also say they used trained estimators. --> This clearly did not happen if I take the owners word that is employee underquoted the job. Respect the customer. --> I definitely felt disrespected and an attempt to take advantage of the situation. I'm glad I read the updated proposal. I reported my experience with CertaPro National Headquarters and received no customer service from them either. They told me Dominic would have to provide a resolution and that he already talked with me about situation. Never received an apology for my experience. I personally would never use this company in the future. I would be very careful with this local Franchise and please make sure everything is correct on proposal before they leave the premises. I can not comment on the quality of their work since they did not paint my house. Sincerely, Disappointed Lancaster Resident

They did an excellent job. Their price was extremely competitive. They were topnotch. They were done in a day and a half. They came out to the house and gave me a nice quote. They were very professional about it and had a computer right there. We were able to look at the colors at the house. It was good.

they were on time and very professional...ceiling came out great but next day had some yellowing in spots,,,called and set up an appointment for sale rep to come look at it...set up time to redo and fix problem,,,,after a few phone calls were able to send person back and take care and fix problems,,,,,,have to say they were really great at calling back and solving issue

They did a fantastic job. They're very neat, they're prompt, reliable and I thought they did good quality work for the price. I spent about $7000. They brought in scaffolding and the put a lot of work into the ceiling to make sure that it matched. So they just repaired the cracks and the texture of the repair work matched the rest and now you can't tell the difference.

Everything went very well. The company performed all of the work/services that were contracted for. I was very satisfied with the quality of the overall work, but I felt the price was high. I should add that despite the enormity of the job, the painters did all the repairs and painting within a weeks time. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the manager of the job, as well as the quality and quantity of work performed by the painters in general.

If a company cannot even give an estimate in a coordinated and timely manner what would they be like on the job?

It was unbelievable that the first day all of the popcorn ceiling was removed. AND by only one worker! All the cupboards and living room furniture we did leave in the room were all covered and entry ways covered as well to keep the dust out and later any paint splatters/smell. Two workers primed and painted the ceilings. We had a patch on the kitchen ceiling where we removed a short insignificant wall last year. We were a bit concerned on how that would turn out. When they were done, we couldn't believe our eyes when we looked at that ceiling area ! You'd never know that patch & wall was ever there. Awesome, awesome job. The workers cleaned, swept and bagged up all the mess. They both worked very hard and we certainly appreciate the end result. We highly recommend CertaPro.

They did a good job. The sales team was wonderful and very attentive. The painting team was very nice.

erA large crew of painters showed up at the house; however, most of them were temporary workers that probably had very little experience painting. The crew painted over dirt, loose paint and the back crew painted the windows in a completely different way than the painters in the front of the house. The entire crew seemed to be foreign to the idea of sanding areas to make the paint look nice, even though this was specifically in the written contract. Extra work was charged at an extremely high rate. Work had to be redone. Work on some areas of the house were foregone due to the inferior workmanship

We were very impressed with the work of the indoor crew. They were meticulous and very professional. I was less impressed by the exterior crew. They were quite sloppy (dripping paint on my plants) and did the absolute minimum required. Overall, I would recommend this company, but the quality of the final product may be highly dependent on the "luck of the draw" in terms of crew.

They did a good job and we were satisfied with it.

The bid came in quickly. I thought the price was reasonable. They were to do an oil based primer after scraping and patching etc. I also hired them to do some shingle repair and replacement ( which was too high price wise) but I did it anyway. That work was average. I would not call it fine carpentry work as needed. The crew was here over a month due to weather and 'other jobs' and often with one or two guys painting. They did not explain my payment options and I had to do extra phone calls regarding that. They spilled paint on my new exterior deck, but cleaned it up suficiently. But there are light boot marks or tennis shoes marks with paint on the exterior stairs. They did not use oil primer and by the time I could tell, it was too late to start over since it had already taken so long. They did not use the products listed in the bid and the job took very long even though it was sloppy workmanship in many places. They The workers smoked around the house and left cigarette butts everywhere. IF the price had not been so decent, I would be extremely upset. However, they tried to make things right when I called the office and complained etc. I was fortunately able to be around most of the time the work was done to 'keep an eye out'

Overall the job was a little below in quality for the money I paid.

The service was excellent from the time of estimate to the time of clean up. They are extremely accommodating. They actually came earlier than planned because they knew I was anxious to move into my condo. They were able to fit me in, so it was great. The overall experience was excellent. The price and quality were excellent. They were punctual, responsive, and professional. I would use this provider in the future.

I didn't really like them that much. I didn't think that the quality of work was what it was supposed to be. The gentleman who came out to do the contract for the work promised things that the workers didn't do. The estimate included things that weren't done. I wasn't a fan of that. That definately effected the quality. We told the workers, and they kind of brushed it off.

Power washer was a subcontractor and did a sub-par job. Dominic (Certapro owner) made sure it was redone before the watersealing.They used a new product from Benjamin Moore that was supposed to be semi transparent. It came out shiny in some parts and not in others. Dominic agreed that it was not up to his high standards. They completely sanded the deck and then applied a Sherwin Williams semi transparent stain. It has a matt looking finish and is what we were hoping for in the beginning. We are very happy with the end result and commend Dominic and his crew for making it right. We will definitely use CertaPro Painters of Buffalo whenever we need interior or exterior painting and have no hesitation in recommending them to friends and family . Thanks to Dominic, Alicia and their crew we will be enjoying our deck this summer.

There was nothing to special. They were just average.

They went above and beyond. They were very good and did everything they stated they were going to do. It only took them three painters and a half day to paint. I will definitely use them again in the future.

They were polite, but I perceived a lack of professionalism from their sales force. Their price wasn't all that competitive. I ended up going with someone else.

They were very professional and they came right away.
