I couldn't be happier with the work done by Angelo and his crew. I have a rental apartment that had layers of old linoleum as well as plywood nailed over the floors. My general contractor had told me I would need to put in new floors. Angelo came to give me an estimate and started prying up the corners of the linoleum and found that there were hardwood floors under there! He said he did not know what condition the floors were in but that he would uncover the floors and see. He gave me an estimate that was reasonable. Well, the removal of the linoleum turned out to be very difficult -- the linoleum was glued down terrifically and had to be pried off piece by piece. His crew was incredibly patient and hardworking on this task. Angelo oversaw the work. The hardwood antique pine floors underneath were in great shape. After buffing and applying two layers of polyurethane, the floors are gorgeous! Even though the job turned out to be harder than expected, Angelo stuck with the original estimate. He also cleaned up nicely afterwards. The job was completed according to the time frame set out in the beginning. I highly recommend Xtreme Hardwood Floors for any flooring work. This was the first company I had found on Angie's list and I thank the other reviewers who wrote about their experiences with Xtreme which helped me to choose them.

Very accomodating with schedule, extremely punctual and respectful of time, answered all of my questions, good work ethic and made sure we were 100% satisfied with the end result.

Angelo responded to my initial voice mail within 24 hours and was prompt and professional in setting up an initial appointment to look at our floors. He explained exactly how he planned to approach fixing the unlevel floors and provided timely itemized quotes for 2 different options (installing prefinished wood vs finishing on site). We decided to go with prefinished wood that we purchased separately, he adjusted his quote accordingly and it was quite reasonable compared to other quotes we had received. He and his men were prompt and polite and worked efficiently and as cleanly as possible (considering that they were pulling up an entire floors worth of 60+ years old wood). Initial estimate was around 7 days of work, I think it ended up taking 9 days total. The floors looked great and Angelo was great about NOT nickeling and diming for small incidental work - e.g. he did not charge extra to remove the radiators or to cut the doors to accommodate the changed floor levels. They also did a very good job executing a complicated curved cut to fit the new floor to the existing balustrade on our staircase. Overall they have done a much better job than a company that we paid 3x as much to other floor work in our home.

Angelo and Randy were terrific throughout the process. They showed up exactly when they said they would, each day of the process. They did the job in phases, so that we could still live in our house while the floors were being done (we did have to clear out the rooms, but they gave us a day or two in between phases, so that we could get things moved around. They were friendly, outgoing, and didn't mind that we had some overly-friendly dogs that wanted to tag along on the estimate. Our house is about 115 years old, and some of the floors had never been refinished in that entire time. Other floors were covered by layers of linoleum (probably from the 1930s or so) and then by wall-to-wall carpet on top of that. Another company just gave us a square footage estimate without actually coming out to see the project. Angelo showed up on time, gave us a realistic assessment of what would be involved, and he checked in with us whenever something turned up that was unexpected (we didn't realize that there were two layers of linoleum to be removed--we'd thought it was only one). The price he quoted us only changed because of the additional layer of linoleum, and was either on par, or slightly less than the other two quotes we got. Angelo and Randy worked quickly, and cleaned up at the end of each day. Our floors on the first floor are gorgeous, and if the second floor looks a little "rustic," we're still thrilled with the work they did. I don't think anyone else could have cleaned them up any better. Eventually, we'll probably need to put new floors over the pine floors on our second floor, and when we do, we'll definitely be calling Angelo to do that work for us. Really terrific, across the board.

I spoke with John a few times but mostly dealt with Angelo.. Angelo came on time to the appointment gave me four different options and explained in detailed how long the work was going to take and when you was going to complete. His crew came in on time and worked for three days in a four bedroom apt.. Workers where polite and left the place clean. I absolutely will use them again and will save them on my contacts for my friends and family to use with any flooring needs. It was a pleasure dealing with them. Thank you!!

I spoke with John to start the process...he was very nice and worked with our schedule. Angelo came to provide the estimate and was very prompt for the appointment. He was very polite and explained what he would recommend...which we agreed to. Angelo and Randy teamed to do the job and took care of moving all the furniture before and after the job was complete. Each day they arrived on time and quickly went to work. We are so pleased with the outcome...the stains were addressed, the marks were removed and the finish is spectacular. We have had the floors done in the past, but this time the floors actually look like newly installed. Thanks for a job well done.

Angelo called to confirm our appointment, he and a helper arrived on time and they performed the job as promised. The room was tightly sealed off, any dust was thoroughly cleaned up, and I was totally satisfied with Xtreme's performance and results.

I contacted Xtreme Hardwood looking for an estimate to refinsh the hardwood floors of my staircase, and the walkway leading to the basement. They are highly rated on Angie's list, and after reading the various reviews decided that this place would get my business if they handled me well upon interaction, and price was right. I had tried one other company before reaching out to them. And thats only because they were the first that showed up cronologically when i searched the list. The first place did not return my call. I made two attempts, and two days later decided to move on. Truth be told, that first company did me the hugest favor not returning my call because i ended up with one of the very best hardwood floor companies in the business. I feel very lucky to have found them. Xtreme was extremely responsive. John returned my call 10 minutes after i left the message. My job was pretty small, so there really wasnt a need to come out to provide an estimate. After a description of what i wanted done, and the size of the walkway, i had a quote in half an hour. We scheduled the date for the work to begin, and the rest is history. The guys showed up on time, were pleasant, and professional. I stayed out of their way (especially once the sanding began) and they did exactly what the job specified. It took them about 3 or so hours total. They came back the next day to apply the final coat of sealer, and were done with that in an hour. I am so very very pleased with the job so much so that i cant stop looking at it . I find myself standing at the top of the staircase just admiring the beauty of my flooring. I would recommend this company to anyone who's looking for a professional and reasonably priced job from start to finish.

Called Angelo who is also the owner of XETREM HARDWOOD FLOORS for estimate. We made an appointment and he arrived on time. I explained what I wanted done and he informed me how he would do the job. He inform me that he would remove the carpeting from the stairs and sand them and apply 3 coats of water base varnish. We then went to the living room, he said he would move all the furniture, remove the carpeting and tile put down plastic covering over the concrete floor, install 3/4" ply wood and insolation and install hardwood flooring and that the job would take 4 days to complete and the cost would be $5300. I gave him the job and it was schedule for the following week. Angelo arrived on time with two workers, Randy (master carpenter) and Peter who been a carpenter for over 15 years. After removing the carpeting they put plastic around the work area so that no saw dust would travel around the house. After sanding was complete Peter applied 4 coats of varnish. Bottom line the stairs came out beautiful. Now they started in the living room, they moved the furniture from one side to the other side. They took up the carpet and tile and prep. the floor as stated. Randy did a truly excellent job cutting around some of the difficult edging. Angel (owner) was present every day until completion. I must add that Randy and Peter are wonderful workers, they work the entire time without taking a lunch break. The flooring was installed perfectly and furniture put back in place. Angelo was a pleasure to do business with, he took the time to explain what was going to be done and answered all questions and took great care in being careful not to damage anything. The job was completed on time and it came out beautiful. I would not hesitate to call on them again.

Angelo was wonderful! He was neat, clean, absolutely perfect! We would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to do hardwood floors! He did an amazing amazing job! He even followed up. He even gave us two mixed putty's that would perfectly match our floor. He was one of those people you met instantly and liked and trusted.

Got estimate almost 6 weeks before but decided to go with Xtreme due to cost and honesty of estimator Angelo. Luckily, they came right away when I called so much later. Some companies told me the floors were not worth sanding and refinishing as they were not thick enough. Turns out not to be true, Xtreme did a great job even the deepest scratches are gone and floors look great!

These guys did an amazing job. They showed up right on time and got to work. Each of the guys took pride in their work and it showed with a great final product. They started by taping and covering all the areas dust may affect. They got down to bussiness by first scraping the old finish off my floors. They were slow and methodical, paying close attention to detail. They next added a sealer, and finally put down the polyurethane. The came back the next day to give it a second coat. When Angelo saw an area I hadn't asked to be sanded he took it on himself to give it a make-over at no extra cost. That room came out beautiful as well. These guys did great work and were professional throughout the process. I have already recommended them to a few neighbors.

They were professional, knowledgeable and very efficient. The floors look beautiful, and were stained exactly the way I wanted them. Angelo was punctual and very neat. They cleaned up everything even vacuuming my carpeted stairs. Will definitely recommend them and would use them again.

The owner was extremely prompt and professional throughout the whole process. They refinished oak and pine floors, as well as, steps. They did a great job and I would definitely use them again!

I submitted a request looking for an estimate. I received a same day response. Unfortunately they were fully booked for several weeks out and could not accomodate the request. I did appreciate the quick response to my request however.

This was our first time using Extreme Hardwood Floors. We called for an estimate which was performed by Angelo. He arrived on time. The estimate consisted of sanding and refinishing four floors and one hallway foyer. Two of the floors were water damaged and required much repair. Angelo took time and educated us on the craftsmanship of the floors and how it could be repaired and the types of polyurethane. The following week as agreed, Angelo and his partner arrived on time and got right to work. He sealed off the other rooms with plastic covering. Each day, he explained what was done and called us to evaluate the floors before he started the repairs. Upon completion of the work, he vacuumed the walls and placed the radiators back in the rooms. The quality of his work is excellent! His work brought out the natural beauty of the wood floors more than we could ever imagined. We have received so many compliments. We will definitely call Angelo again!

Angelo and his crew were terrific! Not only did they do a great job sanding and refinishing our very old and very intricate hardwood floors, they also showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves, and (as part of the contract) scheduled the work to accommodate a need to move furniture. I would happily use them again and recommend them to anyone who wants a reliable, professional and reasonably priced contractor.

They did a good job refinishing three areas of hardwood floors that previously had carpet on them. They showed up on time and started working right away. The got the job done early also. The job was done for the price quoted. I feel it was a fair price compared to higher estimates I received from other companies. The staff was very nice and I will use them again if needs arise.

i called for and estimate on work that could not take place for 2 to 3 weeks. i liked both men and would use Xtreme again in the future.
