Slow at first, had to call twice before getting appt and final proposal was a bit slow in coming, but apoligized for. Once appointmet to have work done was made, everything went very quickly and smoothly. They have a very good work crew who did a good job and cleaned up perfectly.

I called for an estimate and they were very prompt in getting back to me and scheduled appt for the following week. Bill came on scheduled time and provided verbal estimate and advised formal contract would follow should I choose to use their service. I received one other estimate which was approx. $100 lower but they were only going to remove certain tree limbs whereas Urban Arb. was going to do a full tree pruning and the full tree pruning would allow me to not have to worry about having to have this done for another 5 years (as per Bill at Urban Arb.). Pruning appt was scheduled about a month out as I wanted a Saturday. The day before the scheduled appt - Urban Arb. called to reschedule due to extremely hot temperatures (over 100) which I fully understood and they scheduled for a week later. I was advised they would come between 8am and 9am and they arrived closer to 9am and got started. It took them roughly 4 hours which included clean up. They did a very thorough job, cleaned up my yard very well along with my neighbors. Overall, completely satisfied with their work and would use them again. I was able to use their 10% coupon and they did take credit cards, which was convenient. They deserve their A rating.

It was absolutely perfect, they were wonderful. They cleaned up after themselves, nothing was broken - it was very good.

They seemed to be very busy around the time I called so as I recall there was some delay getting someone out to make an estimate, and then a longer delay for an appointment. However, I was hoping to have the trees out by the weekend of May 21, when I wanted to start work on my garden, and they "squeezed me in" for the 20th. Crew arrived on time, did a thorough job. They found that their stump grinding equipment wouldn't fit through the only doorway leading to the yard, and asked my permission to take down part of a chain link fence along the side of the yard so they could get it through--did so and afterwards neatly repaired it, as promised. I asked if I could keep some wood chips for mulch and they obligingly filled the garbage bags i gave them. Cleaned up afterwards. Altogether: punctual, thorough, neat. Never called back,no response unprofessional

We called Urban Arborists a few times before receiving a response. However, once we connected, Kyle scheduled an appointment & arrived timely. The estimate was a little higher than some that were provided, but it was detailed & professional. We felt comfortable with the Kyle and the planned work. Due to our neighbor's lack of cooperation with access for the tree removal, we have had to delay this work, but will definitely contact Urban again for service.

Overall it went well. They were good and efficient. They were done when they said they were going to be done. Their work was good. I had some small issues; they came back and resolved them quickly. I would use their services again in the future.

I got several quotes and URBAN ARBORISTS INC was the lowest and we have used them several times. They are generally good. I would use them in the future.

They gave a good estimate and were very professional. They seemed like they could do the job well, but my neighbor wouldn't consent to having the work done we didn't use them.

We had a very good experience with them. The price was pretty reasonable. I really like them a lot. They suggested that we let them come back for a free sot of estimate every year to keep an eye on it and make sure it's healthy because we're in an urban area. They came and did the work. Their customer service was good, I called them and they called me back promptly. The estimate was the same as the ending price.

Competent tree care is difficult to find in New York City apartments, especially in Manhattan, since very few apartments have yards and trees. My two ailanthus trees are approximately six stories high and grow in a rather narrow area of approximately twenty feet of yard width. During my forty years of residing in this apartment I have struggled to get highly professional vendors for tree care. Urban Arborists stands out as a specialist in urban tree care, and its workers were prompt, extremely skilled, courteous and thorough. I located Urban Arborists through Angie's List, which gave it an "A" rating. The company owner first came to my apartment several months ago to assess what was required for the job. I then received a written scope of work and a proposed cost. A contract was mutually signed. An appointment to do the job was made and kept. I observed the extire project first-hand and highly recommend the company.

I was pleased with their work. They provided the lowest price of the three companies I contacted, and also seemed very concerned with the health of the trees, rather than just blindly doing what I asked. They did a nice job and I am happy with the result. My only complaint is that they did not respond to emails and phone calls promptly and in fact I had to contact them many times. But since I had this same experience with nearly every other company I have called (both other tree companies as well as other types of companies), I can't single them out in this way. Nevertheless, I would be much happier if companies would call back and respond to emails and let me know where things stand.

The Urban Arborist tree specialist were expert professionals. They arrived on time, did high quality work that left the pruned tree in an aesthetically pleasing state, and cleaned up after themselves. They weren't cheap for the time and work involved, but given the quality of the work and that they brought their own truck and chipper to remove debris, it was probably a fair price for Manhattan, where such work is inherently more difficult and thus expensive.

The price they quoted was maybe $5,000 or $ 6,000 for that work. They were very friendly and professional. I would have used them if not for the price. The person that came out seemed to know what he was doing and he was very friendly. He was prompt and precise, and it was a good experience.

I called and left a message. Waited two days without a callback so I called again and left another message. Two days later someone called me back. I told her I would not use her company because of their poor responsiveness.

Kyle Dollinger, the arborist whom we dealt with, was knowlegable, informative and easy to deal with. There was a delay in the paperwork, most likely owing to the volume of service calls post blizzard. There was no delay in scheduling or completing the job, however. The work crew was well trained and experienced. I appreciated the thoroughness of their clean-up - they removed not only the downed wood and debris from the job but also the pile of my own garden prunings! I would definitely call on Urban Arborists again for tree work.

It went very well. More expensive than most.

I have used this company before and they did a good job. All the people I've dealt with are very nice and quite knowledgeable. Their communication with customers, however, is very poor. I had problems when I used them several years ago but went back to them because of their expertise. It's been over a month, though, since I got an estimate and I haven't been able to get anyone to answer my questions about that estimate or to contact me to schedule work. Also, their estimate for removing a tree was $800 higher than two other estimates I got. The estimates for the other work I need were reasonable. The only choices for "would you use this company again" are yes/no but my answer more accurately is "maybe" - if they improved their responsiveness. It's too frustrating to have to keep chasing after them.

Perfectly!! Their workers are excellent, totally professional and skilled; their administrative staff informative and responsiveness, the owner a real expert, this man knows what he's talking about.

They were fine. They pruned and thinned out some branches on a couple of trees in my backyard. They took down a giant vine and a silver lace vine that went way above a wall. They also took out a couple of bushes that I did not want. Compared to the other companies that gave us estimates, I thought that they would be more sophisticated and a little more sensitive to what I wanted. I thought that they might me more horticultural aware. The name of the company also sounds like they are a little more ecologically aware. Kyle was the guy that came out and looked at what needed to be done and discussed it. He also seemed that he was aware of what was needed rather than just ripping out a tree.

They were wonderful. My garden is not easy to work in, but they did a lovely job. They were extraordinarily professional, which I think is not easy to be around trees in confined spaces. They really knew what they were doing. They were punctual, courteous and pleasant. They were punctual. They removed all the mess which is not easy in the type of garden that I have. I?d absolutely use them again.
