My basement has remained untouched from the previous homeowners. Outside of coming down to do laundry (which I dreaded because of the condition of the basement) this area has been a throw away space. The bathroom, although functional was pretty nasty so it has never been used since we purchased the house two years ago. I figured it was time to make use of this wasted space and do a complete overhaul. Having had a great experience with Roman, Ivan and the team the first time I used them, I decided to give them the job. As with the first job, they came to walk the space and we discussed the details of what I was looking for, what was possible, timing, etc. After about a day or two, I received an email with the official quote that itemized the cost of each portion of the project (labor and materials). I thought the quote was fair and we agreed on a date to start the project. Like the professionals these guys are they showed up bright and early on the agreed day and every working day thereafter. The entire project included gutting the entire space with drywall, frames, flooring, tile, shower, toilet, etc. etc., re-framing and installing all new insulation, drywall, re-routing and installing electrical, building a new wall around the existing cast iron stair case with under stair storage, cutting and removing cast iron stair spindles and railings, closing space under stair treads (these guys are magicians), installing new fire proof drywall in mechanical/laundry area, completely new bathroom installation (shower, toilet, tiling new window, access panels for water shutoffs), new flooring, painting, recessed light installation, running wires for speaker system in ceiling, installing down-firing ceiling speakers, repairing outside breach in stucco, waterproofing gaps in basement entry and above grade. I'm sure I'm missing something, but you get the idea... For the sake of keeping this review under a novel I'll try my best to summarize the entire experience. Working with these guys it feels very much like a partnership. You can tell they care very much about the quality of their work and they will stay as long as they have to to get the job done right. Unlike some of my experience with other contractors who will patch things up to get the job done, or close walls around areas they know will present a long or short term problem; these guys don't work that way. I feel a lot of trust that they will always do what's in my best interest. They bring my attention to anything they foresee as a problem, even if it doesn't directly concern them. As an example, when demo-ing the bathroom they realized the sewer line for the original toilet was set too high, so they removed all the concrete and realized the workers who built the bathroom didn't want to touch the sewer line from the kitchen seeing it was probably on it's last leg, so they left it and decided to just install a new line over that one. These guys knew I probably had a very short amount of time left in those pipes, so they replace the entire section of that line (for no additional fee). This was a project that spanned a few weeks, so it's not easy to summarize the highlights, but all in all I'm very very satisfied with the result of the project. Everyone who has seen the finished product is very impressed and requesting their contact information for their projects. I've already let them know they have another large renovation project coming from me in the near future. The project went over what I initially wanted to spend when I first decided to do this, but it was well worth it.

Ivan and his team responded quickly and came out when it was convenient for me to be available. Job completed efficiently and team was very neat. No mess left behind and no trace there was ever a problem.
Description of Work: Selling a house and had to perform some plumbing repairs to a bathroom. Left the ceiling and walls a complete disaster and needed to repair / replace Sheetrock and paint.
Very happy with this company. They were on time, did what they said they were going to do, did it well, and did it for the price we had agreed on. The skylight went smoothly. They respected our space and cleaned up their work. The ceiling fan they installed turned out to be a dud (not their fault - we had ordered it online). They uninstalled the fan, boxed it up, explained why it wasn't working, went and found a new one, installed that one, discovered that was a dud too, uninstalled and returned that one, and finally installed a third fan that we ordered from a different supplier. They did a wonderful job, were thoughtful and calm throughout, and barely charged for the additional work. We will definitely keep using them for additional projects. They also looked at other projects we have in the house and gave reasonable advice on how to proceed.

The guys were fantastic, and I can’t recommend them enough. After a plumbing job we needed holes in our ceiling patched and the guys came out, assessed the situation and gave us a fair quote. Shortly after agreeing to the price they began work immediately. In all of our interactions, they were punctual, professional, and very detail oriented leading to their final work product being exceptional. We were so happy with the work done by Ivan and Roman, that we asked them to construct a wall to subdivide a room for us. Again the job was done exceptionally and exceeded my expectations as they managed to work within the very tight confines that we required. The guys really treat your home with respect, ranging from the care with which they work, to making sure all surfaces are covered, down to entering your home always wearing shoe covers. I really can’t reconmend them enough and can confidently say that they are some of the best contractors I’ve ever worked with.

Thank you for your review, but I think that's not belongs to our company.Per our conversation you ask us that you are looking for to install some shades in your apartment and we responded to you right away same day: Hi [Member Name Removed], As for now we overbook, waiting time to see your project month from now. Thank you. So...,you didn't answer to us if you willing wait month from now or not,I think your F review not belongs to our company, but that's your decision. And next time you should write review to someone if they performed service for you. Thanks, Roman.
After initial estimates we agreed on a price and detailed construction work with dates. Ivan did a great job removing the bad drywall and keeping the area clean while under construction. He worked in a timely manor to finish on time and gave me photos updates of his work when I wasn’t there. He also ensured I received receipts for all work completed in a detailed outline. Great work and will be using more often.

I hired Progress to fix some leak damage and to paint a 3 bedroom apartment. Roman and Ivan did a beautiful job and it was done quickly as well. They were polite, punctual, professional, and used quality materials. I would hire them again for sure.

They were great at adapting to a larger than anticipated project scope (we decided to install a washer and dryer, which meant lots of electrical and plumbing work) and getting the necessary paperwork/permits for the co-op board.

Very well, Ivan is very nice to work with. He listens to your concerns and was very responsive to the very last detail of what I was looking for. They cleaned up nicely after the job and left the space in great condition. Very professional and fast, and willing to meet early in the morning to review progress and address any concerns before the work day. He did a nice and professional clean job with the drywall and also with the bookshelves. Very happy with our experience and would recommend.

Several years ago my husband and I discovered Progress through Angie's List. Ivan and Roman completed several jobs within our home (custom shelving, TV mounting, drywall ,painting etc...). Recently we were interested in remodeling the exterior wall of our home to include a brick surface. We consulted several professional bricklayers and masonry experts to perform the work. We experienced unrealistic estimates, no collaboration for design ideas and unreliable references. We remembered Progress and our great experience with him in the past and contacted them. Honestly, we were not very hopeful that they would be able to do the work as I always consider brickwork to be specialized. Within an hour of reaching out to Roman and Ivan, they responded with photos of Brick work they had recently completed. I was able to send them rough measurements for an estimate and they quickly replied. Bottom line, these guys are amazing!. I will describe our experience in a list form; 1. Pricing for materials and labor was fair and accurate. 2. Progress has very high standards and they take great pride in their work, with wonder results. 3 setup and cleanup is done without disrupting your household. 4. Excellent time management. They stick to their schedule, and work is completed when promised. 5. Receipts have been provided for all materials purchased. 6 very professional friendly and approachable. 7 collaboration for design ideas that worked with our budget . 8 No hesitation to call them FIRST, THE next time we need work to be done in our home. P.S. during our project we decided to add a cement element. Progress suggested we extend the work by a few feet to prevent leaks. This was honest advice as we have been told the same thing by other construction professionals in the past. They offered advice for the sole purpose of saving us the heartache of future damage. Don't waste time planning home repairs or modifications with another company. Go straight to Progress! Very satisfied customers, The Sammon Family Maspeth New York
This is my second project working with Ivan and Roman and will definitely not be the last! We’d wanted our bathroom renovated and expanded into a space that was being used as a closet. There was a miscellaneous leak coming from somewhere that we also wanted immediate attention to also. We conferred with Ivan to make sure the house’s structure under the bathroom was sound and would accommodate the expansion and got the green light. We’d sent general ideas of what we wanted of the bathroom as gutting commenced. The gutting process was pristine! Every evening before the team left, they’d vacuum any debris remaining from the day’s gutting. This took approximately one week. During this time, the source of the leak was identified near a skylight as well as other areas on the roof. Ivan promptly looped in a roofer, sourced the problem and forwarded costs. We ended up getting a new skylight and repatching the roof (good for 10 years). The only thing that I’d do differently in my next project with the team is have a solid idea of the furnishings and details that I want installed and a checklist of items that I need to decide on. As I chose to purchase all of the bathroom furnishings, a detailed shopping list (tiles, shower system, wash basin, towel racks, colors, dimensions) would make the process so much smoother. Ivan and Roman offered their expertise where I was uncertain of how a design element would function or was practical at all. The guys also partner with a super jovial plumber who kept them in stitches while they worked! His work matched theirs in aesthetic appeal. The result of our renovation- magic! It turned out the closet was hogging a skylight and rendering all of the glorious sunlight coming in useless. Now we have a shower/ tub oasis where we are drenched in sunlight! We also wanted to replicate an exposed brick look in the bathroom that the team executed beautifully! We are incredibly pleased with Ivan and Roman’s work and will absolutely propose future projects to them.

We hired Ivan and his partner. To install 9 Doors. The previous contractor messed up the door jams making instalation a challeng among other things. We wished we had known these guys when we initially started renovating. Ivan was one of three estimates we recieved for this project. We negotiated and agreed on a price. I would say that these two guys are very professional. They pointed out things in the Apartment that weren't done right that needs attention. They genuinely care about their customers. I was very satisfied with the work done. I do plan on hiring them for future projects.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Roman and Ivan. The displeasure of dealing with contractors is you never know what you're going to get. From the moment these guys arrived (exactly at the agreed time) you immediately see the professionalism you were in store for; shoe covers were put on before walking around to assess the job. We walked around while I explained my concern over a possible leak caused by previous contractors careless work, some water stains, cracks in the ceiling and walls, bathroom finishing work (left incomplete by previously fired contractors), etc. After assessing, they said they'll get in contact in a few days with an estimate. Although their estimate came in a bit higher than others, their professionalism left a mark on me; and as everyone reading this knows, the best price can equal the worst experience—I was looking for the best result, so I hired them. Day 1: They again arrived on time, and immediately began putting down floor covers and tarps to ensure as little dust would get into our living area, as they worked on replacing an old front entry and security door on a rotted frame. Earlier in the week they guided me on dimensions of the products I needed to purchase, so everything was waiting for them when they arrived—Also want to mention they offered to pick up for me, but I opted to have it delivered and spare them a trip. They finished installing the new doors by the end of the day, and they showed me the lack of insulation from the previous installation and remedied for me free of charge. Day 2: They came back to complete the finishing work for the door as they needed to rebuild the moldings and customize the aesthetics of the finishing work of which they did a great job of. They also began assessing the ceiling staining, and work on the bathroom. As with the beginning of the project, they covered my wood floors and wore shoe covers throughout the time they worked. Day 3: Finishing of the work in the bathroom which included finishing a door way which was left in complete shambles by the prior contractor, drywall finishing and tidying work from an old repair and installing a mirror and tiles above the sink. After seeking his advice on the best layout of installing our tiles, we decided to go with his recommendation. Day 4: After leaving the ceiling open for a few days to assess if there's any leak, it was decided that the water stains was indeed from the previous job, so the ceiling was closed. All work was finished, including fixing water stains in plaster and drywall, cracks in plaster ceiling and wall, painting, etc. In the end, the invoice was very clearly itemized and almost exactly as the estimate with the exception of some additional materials that was needed to complete the job. Every day that work was done by these guys you would have never thought they were there after they had left. Everything was as clean as they found it, which is not usually my experience dealing with contractors. I was left equally impressed by the quality and attention to detail of their work. As they said, they work on other people's homes the way they would want someone to work on theirs. After my experience they will be the first ones I call for any future work I need.

There are not enough good things I can say about Ivan and his crew at Progress. I have hired them for numerous jobs and he always goes above and beyond. There is no obstacle he can't work around and everything looks better than expected. He's communicative, professional, on time, leaves the place cleaner than when he started, and so affordable
Description of Work: Putting together furniture, hanging wall paper, securing a Murphy bed to brick wall
Progress did a phenomenal job on our project. We had a leak from an upstairs neighbor’s apartment that went through two floors, and had to tear down the dry wall, mouldings etc to prevent mold or additional buildup. Progress came in to look at the damage the day I called them, and provided an estimate the same night. Once we got approval on cost from the insurance company, they were able to start the next day. They were punctual, fast, thorough and extremely respectful of our space. Though there was a lot of work to be done, at the end of the day, wecame home from work to a clean, tidied apartment the entire direction of the project. They even worked around our daughter’s nap schedule. Their work too was first rate. I’m glad to have found these guys. Highly recommend.

Progress gave a fair estimate of the work giving a range of what they thought it might cost to fix a knarly broken sliding door to my bathroom. And it came out at the low end of the range! They had a creative solution avoiding ripping at an entire wall and executed perfectly. Highly recommend them based on this work.
Description of Work: Needed a broken pocket door fixed
I am beyond thrilled with the work ISL did for me! Roman and Ivan were responsive and incredibly professional from the start. Before beginning the work they made sure every i was dotted and T crossed regarding my building's construction requirements. They told me exactly what to expect regarding the job. They were courteous, considerate of my time & even considerate of my inquisitive dog! The job required the cutting of porcelain tile, which they did in my building's shared basement space. I was incredibly impressed when I went down there to see that they'd taken such great care in keeping the area protected and clean throughout their work. And not only did they do a terrific job on the floor itself, when working around the sink area, they spotted a leak and helped me fix it, running to the hardware store (twice!) after 5 pm. I found ISL on Angie's List and had been impressed enough by the reviews to hire them. Now that I've worked with them myself, I can say the raves were well deserved and I would hire them again in a heartbeat. They did beautiful work and were terrific all around!

Great attention to detail and the work was completed quickly.
Description of Work: We've used Progress previously and were happy enough to call them again to do additional work for us. This time, they patched and painted, replaced kitchen and bathroom faucets, refinished the front door and replaced the glass in the front entry, when the tenants vacated. As before, the work was done in a timely manner and the attention to detail was excellent. We'll be working with them again when the other tenants vacate.
