Two times, no one showed during the allotted time--a huge inconvenience. No one called until I called to say I was cancelling and leaving a terrible review.

Strato came and assessed the problem and scheduled to come back during the week to do the work. He ended up rerouting the pipe through the floor to basement and also did the work related to the installation of the H2O tank and checking pipes. He is extremely knowledgeable and explained all the steps needed. Both Strato and his assistant were very professional and courteous. I would recommend them highly.

Repairing the overflow valve on a claw foot tub required that Junior work in extremely tight quarters. He was professional, courteous and completed the job quickly. While he was there, he bid the work for fixing a leak in my heating system. That was scheduled for the following week while he was still on site. The heating system job required draining the 2nd floor radiators, replacing an 84" length of pipe that ran from the 2nd floor to the basement, and refilling the system. Again, Strato and Eric were courteous and professional. They also completed the job much more quickly than I expected and left my house looking as if they had never had to rearrange my living room to do the work. I've worked with 3 technicians - all professional and polite - on 2 calls where the business side was handled as well as the work. I'd definitely recommend them.

All the steps before the technician showed up were well managed and professional until the technician came. The technician was proper and professional and courteous. However, when I had contacted the company by phone, I was not told that there was a chance that they would not be able to do that. I gave her all of the information about the container that had fallen into the toilet. I had even showed the technician a similar container to the technician so he knew what he would be working with. It wasn't until he had arrived that I was told there was no guarantee he could get it out. I had agreed to the $89 service fee, and asked specifically over the phone to the receptionist about the possible range of cost for the stoppage clearing. He tried everything he could and wasn't able to fix it with the equipment he had. The plastic container remains in the toilet. I asked him, "What can be done?" He suggested I could get a new toilet, or he said he could remove the toilet and try to remove the object from the under side, which would be $725, though there was no guarantee for that either. On the receipt, it says there is a 90 day warranty for toilet stoppage clearing.

Strato came within the time frame given, and was detailed and professional in his description of the work needed, and the probable costs and time. We haven't decided yet to use their services, but we definitely appreciate the honesty and efficiency of their response to our inquiry,

This is my 90 year old aunt's 1970 bathroom and she is routinely showered with the assistance of home aides. The diverter broke for the last time and water was only pouring out of the tub faucet. I am so happy and relieved I called this company. I was afraid I'd be told the whole tiled wall would have to be ripped out at some outrageous price. They could have told me anything, but they were honest in their assessment and I had the shower working in no time. The plumber who came, Mr. Stamenos, was extremely professional and explained the situation clearly to me, even offering me two options to choose from. A decent and honest man. This is definitely the company we will be calling when we will have to update her bathroom for accessibility, as her healthcare needs will inevitably require.

He was polite and professional. He was very good and honest. I felt like he took the time to explain the situation and possible extra work. Very good experience I would hire them again.

It was late on a Saturday, so we knew we were going to pay a bit extra to have somebody come out that day, but we were happy that Petri had an on-call plumber who was available and arrived quickly. Strato was super friendly and very thorough in thorough in tracking down our leak. Given that the leak was directly below our bathrooms, that was the main suspect, but he was persistent enough in trying to verify the exact source that we eventually figured out that it was coming in from the outside wall where there was a loose brick.

Initial contact was great. They were receptive and professional on the phone and were able to schedule a repair quickly. Strato was extremely pleasant and professional. He quite efficiently fixed a faucet that turned out to be a more complicated repair than expected. Would certainly call again and also recommend.

HORRIBLE. I set up an initial consultation meeting for 9am-12pm on Monday. I stayed home from work and waited and waited. At 11:50am I call them and they told me that they would not be coming by but we rescheduled for the following day. I pushed then and they only cut the fee for the consultation by 50%. The next day, they show up on time, thankfully, and quote me an additional $555 to only tighten my 3 pairs of faucets and that fixing my shower would take another appointment and god knows how much money. These folks cannot be trusted.

I hired Petri to do a ton of work on my house. They did a masterful job. You really get the quality that you pay for. I interviewed many of the local plumbing companies and none of them compared to Petri in terms of knowledge, expertise, and the willingness to do the correct job for the long term.

A warning to other Angie's List users, beware! Its too late for me, but don't waist your time or money!! This company is extremely over priced! I called Petri Plumbing and Heating because I saw they had a very good rating. I had a small problem of a leaking water supply to the toilet in the upstairs bathroom. It is a very simple fix that can be completed in less than an hour, but "according to the book" the charge was listed as over $400. I reluctantly paid the $96.00 service fee, and sent the (very nice) technician on his way.

A nice man named Orson came over just hours after my initial call. I took him to the basement to look into installing a line to an outdoor water spigot. He quickly got distracted and started mentioning a number of other things he thought needed fixing. First, he said the drainage line from my washer was too high. The flexible hose extends from the base of the washer 5' up to a standpipe that drains into the central sewage line. He recommended installing a utility sink and a large pump, so I could lower the drainage hose a couple feet. All of this sounded costly so I pulled out the manual for my washer and it clearly stated that it was capable of pumping water up as high as 8', which I found is common among most washers. That made me pretty wary of potential upselling. Second, he noticed correctly that the duct from my dryer was especially long. It is a potential fire hazard and decreases the efficiency of the dryer. I'm glad he pointed it out. However, he advocated a fix that would have been a very costly renovation including breaking through two interior walls and one exterior wall. Again, I was a bit wary and did a couple minutes of research. That's when I found something called a dryer duct booster fan. Apparently they're pretty common and very effective. Good ones cost $250 and seem easy to install into an existing dryer duct. Seemed like a good solution and I wonder why someone who deals with this type of thing every day wouldn't think to suggest it. Finally, he addressed the reason for my call -- the outdoor water spigot. Seemed simple enough. The 1/2" copper pipe would run the equivalent of 20 feet through the basement and 6 feet up the wall alongside the dryer duct. They would have to cut a hole in the first floor dry wall to feed the pipe through properly. They would also install valves to prevent the pipe from bursting in the winter. Orson detailed the scope of work for all three projects and said I should receive a quote just after the weekend. Well, an entire week went by without a peep. I finally called ten days after the initial visit and was told I would have a quote right away. I told them to disregard quotes for the utility sink and pump for the washer hose since that wasn't actually an issue. And I didn't want a quote for the dryer duct since I could take care of that myself with the booster fan. I just wanted the quote for the water spigot. By the end of the day I still hadn't received it. I called again this morning and found that they'd emailed it to the wrong address yesterday, even though they had my correct email address on file when they sent me the invoice for the visit. So the quote for an outdoor water spigot? $2200! At Home Depot the copper pipe is about $15/ten feet. Even the nicest frost proof spigots are less than $50. The additional couplings and valves, maybe another $50. We're not talking about a lot of material here. And it's only one line of cold water. I'm not a master plumber, but that sounds highly unreasonable to me. It also doesn't include the cost of patching and painting the hole in the interior drywall. Safe to say I will not be doing business with Petri anymore. They started out very professional. Quick to show up for the first visit, polite and courteous. I appreciate them pointing out the excessive dryer duct length. But at the same time I feel like was trying to be sold a lot of things I didn't need. Then when it took 11 days to get a simple quote, my doubts continued. When I finally had them narrow down what I really needed and initially inquired about, it far exceeded what I believe it costs. Maybe they're great for a quick fix or a clogged drain. But for any kind of home improvement plumbing, I can't recommend this company.

He did his job well. Everything works fine.

They had to install a new pump to the unit. They were very professional. When he replaced the pipes, they came on a Sunday, which was extra but that was ok. He did the job and was very good. I will use them again.

The original issue was primarily to fix the plumbing that would allow a new dishwasher to function correctly. This work ended up requiring multiple visits in which the plumbers did not communicate with one another and failed to make the repairs necessary for the installation of the dishwasher. Technicians arrived unaware of surveys done previously by plumbers from the same company, work was incomplete, and ultimately final steps were left incomplete. The final bill was over 10% higher than the original estimate with no explanation, and the building in which I live was still required to dispose of the dishwasher. I will not use this company again nor recommend them to others.

They ask a $89 just to show up regardless if they do any actual work or not. Later after the work was done I found that the service fee doesn't get deducted from any work you may have done. I had wanted to have my new gas range hooked up, a toilet installed and a vanity put in. I was quoted the price of $552.85 to hook up the range and around $1500 to have the vanity put in Er... $1500?!? I supply the vanity & sink, no pipe changes, only connecting the screw on faucet hoses and the drain pipe. $1500!?!. My vanity and sink cost was only $360. Um no thanks! I agreed on the range install because I figured that the $89 service fee would come out of the price. He disconnected the old cook top. Put a new yellow flex hose on and connected the new range. took all of 15 min. With all the work done he wrote up the bill. $552.85 + Tax + service fee. Wait WHAT!!! the price didn't include tax and the service fee doesn't get deducted from the work??? What is someone supposed to do after the work is already done? Pay a grand total of $698.81. For 15 min of work screwing on a hose and testing that it worked. I was not made aware before hand that the service fee was outside of the work cost nor that the price didn't include tax. I used my credit card to pay but was never asked to verify the price with a signature. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. I will also be contacting American express about this transaction. Ripped Off! Oh and I also didn't get the so called $25 dollars of for Angie's List members. I can only imagine what the toilet may have cost. Needless to say I will not be hiring this company again and you shouldn't either.

I was not happy with this company. The plumber arrived well past his scheduled time. At least they called to keep me updated on the estimated time, but I had to wait around all day. He arrived, took one look at my boiler and said it was perfect and there was nothing he needed to do. So basically I turned on the thermostat, the boiler kicked on and that was it. I could have done that myself. I was still charged the full price of over $400. It was a waste.

Petri Plumbing Technician Junior found a gas leak in ten minutes that no one else could find. Very satisfied with the service.

Someone from Petri came (admittedly 2 hours late) and said they had to order the filler valves and flappers for both toilets. I paid the service fee of $89 and was told I would get an estimate shortly. I received an estimate for $890. but no breakdown of cost of parts vs labor. I checked online and the parts would cost no more than $80 in total. I asked Petri for a breakdown and never heard back from them. I had another plumber come today who fixed both toilets for a total of $200 inclusive of parts and labor. Petri tried to gouge us and must get away with it obviously with many unsuspecting customers. Shame on them and for anyone who uses them!

Petri Plumbing is professional on certain levels but the cost. It is absolutely outrageous. Every small item to be done is charged independently. To have a few simple plumbing problems taken care of, tightening a faucet handle, reinforcing the kitchen sink with 2 brackets, and clearing the drain in a bathroom sink, all of which would have taken less than 30 minutes, would have cost upwards of $800 plus. As it was, I only had them clear the drain. That took about 15 minutes and cost $398.00 plus a $89 service call charge. To charge close to $500 for such a service seems unfair and extreme. I would not recommend this company unless you really don't care about money or feeling screwed.

Plumber had put on booties before walking inside. He explained in great detail why the pipe was leaking and where the pipe is connected to. He replaced the pipes and added two valves: one to switch on and off the flow of water and the other one to drain the pipe of water when we switch off the water flow in the winter. He was done in about an hour!

Frank from Petri Plumbing was professional, efficient, and effective. He was also extremely nice, which is a bonus. There had been some problems getting a plumber to come, because the company was short-handed, but Frank was absolutely worth waiting for. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
