Description of Work: They were fantastic. I gave them a B in Responsiveness because they did allow a lag time when they were supposed to get back to me after initial visit - and they didn't. I had to chase. BUT they were so professional and apologetic and the guy made it through a snowstorm to fix my leak. So I want to really give them straight As.

Description of Work: My kitchen sink and my tub/shower suddenly stopped giving water. Petri came out and replaced the distribution cartridge in my shower and (at my request) the cutoff valves in my sink. In the process I found out that my co-op building has a serious debris issue from recent water tank cleaning. The replacements probably weren't necessary(they did say the parts don't look too bad), but it would have been very hard to tell the exact problem until the water came back on and the debris was visible. |A few days later, the toilet intake had the same problem and this time they knew to look for a clog on the building side. Very quick |Joe, the plumber assigned to my issue, was thorough and explained the process. Co-ops present special problems (scheduling water cut-offs, etc) for contractors and tenants but for the work done and the price, I'm satisfied. |My real issues are with the scheduling. The office did not seem pay attention to a necessary rescheduling (sent someone at original time), called a secondary contact # instead of the primary and the second time sent someone well before the time allowed by my building for starting work. |However, I was not charged for any of this and the plumber was extremely courteous and professional about the misunderstandings. |Note: the cost represents 3 visits; an evaluation for $29(credited to the work), 1 day for the kitchen and shower work and 1 for the toilet. Both work days were finished fairly quickly. |

Description of Work: Petri was responsive and professional. However, they will not provide estimates over the phone so you have to have them come look, which they charge a fee for. Once I heard the price it was more than I expected, but I think because they are there already most people just go with it. It would be better if they gave you quotes for possible outcomes over the phone.

Description of Work: Replaced the flapper in the toilet. While the job was done and the issue resolved, I found them to be very expensive. Not sure if I'd use them again, but only because of price. I have no negative issues with the plumber or the company itself.

Description of Work: Plumber from Petri came, charged something like $79 or $99 to provide an estimate for minor work. The estimate came to something like $800/900. Since the work was very minor, the price was way out of line. Petri was asked to leave without doing the work. Instead, went online and found a plumber who got the work done for approximately $240 plus about $60 in parts. That plumbercame promptly, did the work well, and left. It took him about 40 minutes all told. It cost me approximately 1/3 of what Petri would have charged. Hence, Petri is not rated highly although the company was prompt and polite. The details are sketchy because this happened several months ago. But the basic facts are clear and correct.

Description of Work: Replaced leaking pipe under kitchen sink for $390.00. Two days later snaked same kitchen pipe due to slow draining. Additional cost $215. These large companies really overcharge.

Description of Work: My phone call was answered immediately. The person I spoke to took my information and gave a date and time when a plumber would respond. Right on schedule, Joe Hartman arrived. He was able to fix the problem with the toilet by installing a new flapper, but the sink presented a problem. Both faucets were leaking, and putting in a new washer wouldn't fix the problem, as the faucets were very old and corroded. They had to be replaced. I decided as long as I had to replace the faucets, I might as well replace the sink, since I'd been planning to do that eventually. Joe helped me choose a sink that fit the space, and we found a faucet on Amazon that could be delivered in 2 days. Joe arrived with the new sink, once again, right on schedule. He noticed that the shutoff valves were also very old (the building was built in 1963) and offered to replace those as well. But when he removed the old sink and looked at the pipe leading into the wall, it was all corroded and disintegrating. He had to run out to buy a length of pipe to replace it. So he replaced the pipe and the shutoff valves (he arranged with the building super to turn off the water for this), installed the new sink and faucets, completely cleaned up the entire area and took the old sink and faucets away to dispose of them. All of this was done in one day. I now have a fully functioning bathroom and I couldn't be happier with the results. I would definitely call on Petri Plumbing (and especially Joe) again in the future.
