My gas boiler, used for heat, suddenly stopped working. I read through the manual couldn't get it restarted. It was a Sunday, my birthday non the less, with three small kids of my own at home and tenants with a newborn and no heat. I was a little a panicky, searched Angie's list and called the most rated plumber who had 24 hour emergency service. It was an answering service that said they would get someone to get back to me. Couple of hours passed no call so I looked again for emergency service plumber and found Joe the Plumber (who has ALL "A" reviews). Joe picked up the phone, I spoke with him directly. He said it would take a couple of hours to get to me but said he would come check it out. Two hours later he called to say he was on his way and he showed up like he said he would. He checked out my boiler, took about 15 minutes to figure out what the problem was and another 15 to fix it and like freaking magic I had heat again. Joe not only saved my butt, but my birthday as well. He literally finished up minutes before my family was serving my cake. Joe was a straight forward guy, who did what he said he was going to do, with no bs. Speaks English as his primary language. Didn't try to rip me off or try to gouge me for a Sunday visit. I totally would call him again for any plumbing needs. Ironically after he left, the repair completed, the first plumber I called got back to me about six hours after I initiated contact. See the importance of customer service, especially if you advertise yourself as having emergency 24 hour service. Joe has a new customer going forward and the other company doesn't. Thanks Joe!

We have a problematic toilet that was built as an extension and is poorly insulated, so over this cold winter the pipes underneath freeze and then burst, rendering it unusable for a few months. As soon as the weather warmed up I called a few other plumbers before Joe - one gave an estimate of over $500 (!!), plus a $75 service fee which we had to pay. One wanted $115 just to come take a look at the problem. Another wanted $50 to look, in addition to whatever estimate he'd give. I really don't like having to pay someone so much money just to see what the problem is when I'm not sure I'll be using them, so free estimates are important to me. I called Joe after seeing the good reviews here and he said he gives free estimates, so I had him come take a look. He wasn't able to come the day I called due to an emergency but was very good about texting me to let me know he wouldn't be able to come, and set up a time for the next day. He texted me the following day about an hour ahead of time to let me know when he'd arrive, and he came right on time with a few other workers. He immediately surmised the problem, gave me the estimate of $150, and got to work. There was a little more work than he anticipated because there was another break, but he fixed everything without raising the price. I gave him an extra $10 because I was so grateful. Joe was friendly, punctual, and his prices can't be beat. I hope he doesn't have to come back for a long time but he's definitely our new go-to plumber! (I'll update here if the toilet breaks again :) )

Excellent. Joe uses American made parts. You the Consumer may want to ask your service guy this question. I asked him this question the day i made the appointment and he said yes. He asked me which type/manufacturer and I basically left it to him, he knows his stuff because Joe does this every day so he should know his product inventory. And what helped even more was taking a photo of the equipment or valve or what ever needs to be replaced and either text him or email it so they/he knows exactly what needs to be performed and type of replacement product is best for the job. It makes it a whole lot easier. In my opinion! And I totally appreciate a company like Joe's who uses American made parts that keep Americans working. Is it a little more money? Yes, but NOT by much.. a few cents more and you're getting superior quality. NOT Chinese CRAP!!! I WILL ABSOLUTELY USE JOE AGAIN.

So my roommate has periodically been flushing wet wipes down the toilets. Eventually, this caused a major back up on the sewer line. I called Joe in the morning for an afternoon service. He arrived on time and quickly evaluated the issue. (Wetwipes) He had to run it a few times to clear it and then made sure the line was clear before heading out. He also cleared out some tree roots on the line outside of the house and gave me some basic maintenance information.

Joe The Plumber provides a great service and I will return to use him from now on.

It went fine. He was here within a half hour, after we called him. It was an emergency call. He was very thorough and did a really good job. I have already recommended him to a friend.

Had a gas leak and service was cut by Nat. Grad until leak was repaired. I had received two recommendations from friends and also saw Joe's reviews on Angies List. I called Joe cold, first time customer. Joe was at my door within 30 minutes, assessed the problem , got the proper parts and did the necessary work. No service, cold weather, tenants with a baby....I was vulnerable to say the least. THEN I MET JOE. Professional, quality work at MORE than a fair price. This man has integrity, a kind heart and is an expert in his field. The work he did was more than a simple repair , required long pipe lengths, passing through walls and ending EXACTLY at an existing connection. I have only met a few contractors like Joe. I will ONLY use "Joe the Plumber" from here on and am more than willing to recommend him for any and all plumbing work --Anthony Scaduto

Went well, as usual. We have been using Joe for years and we highly recommend him. Didn't realize he was on Angie's list until I saw an ad in your magazine. He has done all kinds of plumbing for us. Always on time, professional and gets the job done at a reasonable price. We trust him and he is always quick to respond to an emergency situation. Friendly and courteous and have never had a problem.

I was so impressed with how quickly he responded to my message. He was very nice and professional. He called and said he could come today- and arrived within 30 minutes! He listened to my concerns and then pulled out the flashlight, looked around, went into the neighbor's apartment and turned on the water/flushed the toilet to see if it was leaking. I offered his information to my neighbor in the event that they would use him to repair the leak. I will definitely call on him again for any plumbing concerns I may have in the future.

I asked around and several people (a lot of people actually) told me they found Joe on Angie's List. I was overwhelmed with all of the providers here so hearing good things about him made it an easy choice. I reached out to Joe on Angie's List and received a very fast response. We scheduled it for today. Joe and Frank showed up 16 minutes EARLY. They were personable and professional. It was very clear to me that they wanted to rule out issues in a systematic way. The goal was to not just rip things up and check out pipes but to try and truly diagnose the problem. After cleaning out the drains they tested all of the water sources and we waited to see if the leaking resumed. While waiting, Joe took a quick look at my boiler and we discussed that he would schedule an annual cleaning. My ceiling has to be repaired and he suggested a contractor he works with (also on Angie's List). We are going to try and schedule a time that both Joe and the contractor can be here so Joe can check out the pipes and triple check there are no other problems. I am thrilled to have found Joe and feel he will be here when we need him. Thank you Joe and Frank.

Joe saved us! All the heavy rain we have been getting has been causing my basement to flood. I first contacted him about six weeks ago because heavy rain was causing water water to back up in my driveway and pour into my basement. Joe came over in the pouring rain to clean my outside drain and we have not had a problem since! Because this has been a chronic problem in our home, we opted to get a service contract for drain/sewer maintenance. Best thing I ever did!
