Joe the Plumber

Spoke to Joe about replacing water shut-off valve under a sink: easy access, long straight copper pipe, should take 30 mins max may be an hour with wait for water to be turned back on -- a $300--$400 job. Joe said a minimum of $650 (not including tax), maybe higher! Joe might be a good plumber but his pricing is not for the average :)

I have used Joe The Plumber (the Brooklyn Joe The Plumber) for 3 separate problems. In all 3 cases Joe arrive on time, did the work cleanly and professionally and did not try to claim that the plumbing required more work that which was actually needed (a problem I have run into before with other plumbers). I called Joe in the morning on May 14, 2017 and he called me back within minutes of my leaving a message for him. Joe told me that he would send one of his employees to take care of the problem that very afternoon, arriving between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Sure enough, at around 2:30 p.m. an employee of Joe's named Giovanni showed up at my apartment and fixed the problem capably and efficiently, replacing the corroded pipes with new piping and even installing a beautiful new sink strainer to replace the old, partially corroded, one.

Joe was great with communication, providing advice and discussing the installation of my new hot water heater. He came by on schedule to see my hot water heater set up and to provide an estimate, **a free estimate**. (One thing that drives me crazy with some plumbers is you have to pay them $80-$100 for simply stopping by your house for 10 minutes to confirm that your 20 yo water heater needs replacement) After deciding that I wanted Joe to do the work I called and we set an appointment for the following week. Joe and his crew were on time, professional and efficient. They installed the new HWH and took care of a broken hose supply for my backyard, I was very happy with the work and I thought it was done for a fair price. Would definitely call Joe again.

i called Joe, for a job regarding, replacing my gas / steam boiler. at our meeting, he seemed very helpful, understanding and fair, but because he didn't try to calculate correctly , for the correct boiler replacement, and just went with the exact / same old boiler INCORRECT , and because of this and other reasons, he did NOT give me a fair price ( an actual difference of about $1500, that's with my smaller boiler size, given as a fact ), so i decided to go with another heating boiler professional . today, i tried hiring JOE, for another job, but since he remembered , who i was, he tried to GOUGE me for $300, as a way of some IMMATURE and UNPROFESSIONAL payback, after he told me, of his plan of action, i explained to him, what i just wrote, so his final action, was to hang up on me. sooooooooooooooooo Very Sad. since he has many positive reviews, i hope this was just some misunderstanding, a bad day, or just a poor act of judgement , on his part. as we all have them. so good luck joe, and happy christmas and the upcoming holidays , for you and your family.

Super fast. We had an emergency leak and Joe went out of his way to see us immediately.

this 2 inch pipe was only 60 percent visual , with every effort not to damage any surrounding area he and his crew completed the job (while working overhead in a very spot ) in a home that is over 100 years old . I have to say THANKS to angies list for recommending Joe the plumber
