George's Sewer Services

I called around noon when I noticed the backyard puddle near our back wall growing as the rain continued. I spoke with a delightful woman who said she would send someone when the rain had stopped (so as to not electrically shock the worker) and we agreed upon a time between 2 PM and 4 PM. At 3:15 Demshon arrived and very quickly diagnosed and cleared the blockage, taking care to dry the wheels of his machine to protect our floors. This was a very fast solution to my problem.

So today when I noticed our radiator leaking all over the floor, I couldn't believe I had to call him for the 3rd time in a week. With dread I called and spoke to the very pleasant receptionist who told me that despite the bad weather George could still come out after his other jobs. But he didn't - instead, he called me first and talked me through repairing the leaking radiator myself! No joke - and I'm NOT handy. He called back a half hour later (I'm still totally serious) to see if it was indeed fixed, and it was. How often do you get to tell people a plumber made your day by saving you $$? What a stand up guy - will def use and recommend him for all future plumbing needs. Just hopefully not 24 hours from now...

2 yr old flushed some small items down the toilet. Called George's, explained and said it wasn't urgent but they had someone here in an hour. Looked at the bathroom, explained rates based on how bad the problem turned out to be, and fixed it in 10 minutes. Will definitely call again for our plumbing needs - thank you for a straighforward, fairly priced experience.

Plumbers in my neighborhood play hard to get. In contrast, I called George's on a holiday morning. The man came at 4:00, took care of the problem very professionally, and I was back in business. They were very professional, service-oriented, and competent.

Leon and partner were on time and explained the problem and fixed it with out breaking up tile floor. A great job.

Two weeks prior to calling Georges's, I had a blocked sewer line that needed to be cleaned. I called a local company that specialized in this service, and they came and cleaned the sewer line. One week later, it was blocked again, so I called them back and they came and cleaned the line a second time. One week later; unbelievably, it happened again and I couldn't call this company a third time. I looked on Angie's List and found George's; the reviews were excellent so I called and couldn't believe it when they told me someone would be coming that same day (I called on a Sunday). Once they arrived, I immediately saw the difference in the quality of the guys. They were extremely thorough and explained to me what the problem was and they were able to fixed it. I will definitley call George's back again for their services.

After calling Roto Rooter and being told someone would be there between 11:30 and 3:30, I called George around 4 PM when Roto Rooter never showed up. He promised to be there within 45 minutes and he arrived pretty close to the scheduled time. I was a little shocked when he advised that the charge was $349 plus tax and while he admitted their prices were high, with a 90 year old lady in the house who needs to use the bathroom constantly, I wasn't in a position to argue. Fortunately, an Angie's list coupon took 10% off. He was done within 20 minutes and gone. He advised that the services were guaranteed for one year.

The representative was very professional and nice. He explained the problem to us and he performed the task in a very efficient manner. In addition, he saw other risk areas where the problem could start and basically remedied them for a bargain price. I recommend this company, and will definitely call them when a similar situation is encountered.

Michael came in with his tools and quickly evaluated the leak. He was professional, quick, courteous and kept me informed while working. He didn't seem to mind that I stayed watching him work. He discovered that the stem that was there was not a perfect fit so he changed the stem because the washer was fine. When that didn't remedy the problem he changed the seat also. The leak is still there but it's much less and he did advise me that I am going to need to change the shower body in the very near future especially because this leak has been recurring for the last couple of years so I believe it's time to go a step further when I'm ready.

This was the third business on my Angie's List that I had called the day before service, the first being Harris. Steve from Harris was prompt in giving me an estimate on removing and excavating the clogged and broken clay drain pipe that was flooding my crawl space with sewage. The whole job would have been over $18k, something beyond our means. The second call was to Balkan who said my job required an interior plumber and not their services. The third call I made to George's Drain Cleaners. It was about 6pm and around 7:45 George showed up to take a look at my problem. After explaining what I had seen from crawling into the crawlspace myself, George suggested that it was most likely a clogged trap. He told me to cut open an access panel into floor above the pipe and he'd come back tomorrow. The next day he called and left a message to tell me he would be at the house around 11:30. George and his man were there at 11:29 and snaked out the build up in the pipe and got the sewage line running again. We tested the line successfully several times before he suggested a way to deal with the existing overflow and possible pipe replacement. George advised me to cap it and wait until Spring to renovate when prices (including his own) would come down. After less then an hour he wrote me an invoice for the job and told me to call him when it was time to renovate. After having a half dozen contractors out to see the house and none returning my calls, George was a welcomed relief. I look forward to working with his team again in the Spring.

I made an appointment and the plumber arrived on time. The person who came to perform the sewer cleaning, "Dee", was professional and personable. He took a look at the job required, explained what he would do and the costs. The job involved cleaning out an backyard drain that had been stopped up for a while. He cleared the drain initially from outside the house and it seemed to work well initially, but he tested it further, saw that it was still blocked and needed to work from the trap inside the house. This inside trap had been partially covered by workers laying down tile a few months before, but he was able to get the cap off and clean out the blockage. The total cost was $125. I asked him if he could clean the front trap as well and he told me the price. Along the way he explained what he was doing and what the potential issues might be. Overall, I thought the price was reasonable and that he did very good work. The total time was about an hour to complete all of the work. We've since had one storm and the drains have worked fine. I'd recommend them to my friends. The total cost of the work was $430, with a 10% discount for members of Angie's List.

I had had another company come to snake the line a couple of weeks before. They ran a snake through the line ($50) just to get the water moving and then insisted I needed to send a camera down the drain to inspect it. That cost $175 but was a lot of fun and did show a great number of roots that worked their way into the sewer line. They then tried to sell me a minimum of $650 worth of hydro jet to clean the roots out. I refused as I felt like I was being scammed, so I joined Angie's List and found George who had many excellent reccommendations and I called him. George's and I made an appointment and though he ran a little late his wife did keep in touch to make sure that was ok. George and his assistant arrived and when I explained my story to date he told me that hydrojet would do absolutely nothing to remove roots that it was designed to blast away grease in a sewer line. He also said that, even though he had hydro jet and camera equipment, you didn't need a camera to feel roots in a drain. They sent the snake with a proper set of blades through the sewer line and, though they had to really work to clean out the roots, had the sewer clear in short order. We had a massive downpour recently and there was no back up at all. He rccommends RootX to clean the roots in the larger city sewer line that can't be reached with the snake blades. He ordered some and will return in a week to treat the line.

The job went well. They were efficient, and prompt.

The gentlemen named Demsion that came was both polite and professional. He looked at the storm drain, ran the hose down it to check for a clog and immediately noticed there was a blockage. He snaked out the drain and checked again with the hose to make sure the water would not back up and spill over. He was quick, clean, the price was right, and I will recommend George's Express to all my friends and neighbors. Thank you Angie's List!

Job was performed well; drains are flowing again.

A sewer cap to the drain, which was enclosed in cement, was chisled loose and the sewer drain was snaked. George did not do the work himself but had sent his employees. They arrived promptly and the job was done and everything was in working order. I later met with George and found him to be honest, ethical and willing to go out of his way to accommodate my needs and made sure everything was to my satisfaction. I took business cards from him which I intend to pass along to friends and co-workers if they ever need a plumber. George is ethical and reliable and places a high value on his reputation and the quality of his work. I highly recommend him and would use his services again.

We contacted George's based on the Angie's list review and the 2 workers they sent were actually sub-contractors. Both workers did a good job and were very helpful but my problem was with the costs. We had a sewer pipe clogged in a house we just purchased last week so we called Georges to check the lines and unclog the pipe. The only problem was according to their workers they needed access to the main sewer vavles in the drain pit which the previous owner covered in 2ft of concrete. I asked how much it would cost and was told they wouldn't know until they saw what the problem was and in order to do that they have to drill away all the concrete. It took them 5hours to carefully drill away all the cement and they were albe to unglog the sewer line right away. Once all the work was done i was finally given a bill over $2000.00. Most companys charged only a little over 200.00 to unclog a line so I found $1800 for 5hrs of drilling away the cement to be excessive which is why I writing this review.

This plumber had a great attitude,very thorough,and a real pro. I would definitely recommend George's express.

I called in the midst of a morning of terrible rainstorms when our entire basement flooded. The woman who took my call immediately contacted Leon and Mike who arrived in less than a half hour. They quickly went to work, carefully and professionally, and cleared the sewer problem quickly. They were polite and considerate, took the time to explain exactly what had been done, and alerted me to a potential longer-term issue of which they indicated I should consider taking care at my convenience. I was very satisfied with my entire experience, from the first contact with the company through the resolution of the problem. I definitely will use George's Express for any future work.

I called on Saturday evening and got a call back in less than 10 minutes. Got a preliminary estimate and made an appointment for Sunday morning. Two guys came within 1 hour window that we scheduled, and within 5 minutes had a full grasp of the situation. Cleaned up most of the dirt after the job was done. Final bill was exactly what they said it would be.

Phone call to George led to a return call from him about 20 minutes later to establish a time for the service -- about 2 hours later. George's men arrived in less than 2 hours. They were friendly, fast, and neat. -- took about an hour from start to finish. They honored Angie's coupon for 10% off. The $270 included tax and the discount ($275 is the charge for the cleaning). When George returned my initial call he gave me a specific arrival time and showed up at my door when he said he would. He gave me a price quote and because it sounded reasonable and fair, I asked if he would add on the upstairs tub drain. He gave me a discount on the tub and proceeded to the job with efficiency and patience. I was shown the problem, a major grease buildup, and he explained what he had done to fix the problem. Because my dad was a carpenter and I like to watch people to see how things work, I stayed close by and kept a conversation going, so I was relieved that George was not annoyed by this and kept his focus to get the job done rather quickly. It matters to me that people are knowledgeable and personable, and George was both. I would highly recommend him.

It went very well. I spoke with his wife on the phone. She was very polite and explained that George was currently on a job but would respond promptly. Within an hour, George called back, and we made an appointment. He showed up on time and gave me an estimate of $250 to clean the drain. I explained that I thought $250 was a bit high so he said he stated that he would come back in six months and give me another cleaning for free. I was very pleased with this. He cleaned my drain, and I have not had a problem since. He seems like a good guy who will work with you. I will be hiring him again to take care of some other plumbing issues.

On December 10, 2011 we noticed our drains were becoming unresponsive. We have an old house and know that the sewer needs to be cleaned every year or so. On December 12 we researched companies on Angies List. One of our criteria was to get someone in the neighborhood. We called George's to get an estimate. The woman who answered said George would call us back, which he did within 20 minutes or so. He said he could come to the house to give us a free estimate. Within the hour he came and gave us an estimate. We hired him to do the work, which he did immediately since he had the machinery and a helper with him. Within an hour the work was finished. He honored our 10% Angie's coupon. Before the morning was over the job was contracted and completed. George and his worker were pleasant and professional. He takes his Angie's List rating very seriously and reminded me to send a review. I am happy to do so. We will definitely use George again.
