Description of Work: absolutely nothing. this plumber behaved as if he was doing me a favor and provided what i can only describe as the worst level of "service" and which is more surprising Angie's List staff were not very helpful. George's subcontracted, lied, made a complete mess of the job and I had to hire another plumber to fix the mess they made (i.e. they put a valve on backwards and shredded the threads on the pipe while doing so). I would NEVER use this service again. Btw, George hides behind his staff and wife...quite hilarious given his name is on the business. Quite happy with my new plumber who is not on Angie's List...ironical.

+ -1 moreIt was a stormy cold night and a clog that I hoped could wait until after Thanksgiving, didn't. The basement bathroom was a lake, the top of the outside drain floated off and I was out in the steady rain, bailing the water out of the basement, a bucketful at a time, praying the gutters weren't overflowing onto the roof. At that moment I joined Angie's List. I saw George's listing and noticed he had emergency services. So I called them. The gentleman said he would come within 40mins to 1 hour. I went back to bailing buckets of water, hoping he showed up soon. He did, with a van full of equipment. When the regular snake didn't work, he went into the truck and took out a jet washer, explaining that the buildup was so bad he was going to have to unclog it up to the city line and blow it out beyond it. For some reason, I didn't worry--I got the impression he knew what he was doing. After about 30-40 mins with the jet washer, the drain cleared, the water receded and the house didn't float down the boulevard. It was $1200 well spent...I'm sure any other plumber would not have had the equipment or know how to fix this problem--particularly since it meant clearing out up to the city line and shooting the clog out through it. I will definitely call them again.

Description of Work: We have had a drainage problem with rain water backing up in the drains in the basement and thus pushing back up through the bath tub and toilet in the basement area. I had a friend do a snake about a week ago, but he had a short snake. We thought we snaked the drain and traps good enough as water appeared to be passing. However, this week after a heavy rain, the flooding came back. The rain water started backing up from the front of the basement, at the front trap. Then the back started back up and water started pumping up from the bath tub drain and toilet, all rain water and leaves. We decided to go pro and called George's. I called about 7:45 AM, got his message service who told me about an hour. I waited to 9AM and became concerned, called back and got George's wife! Personable, nice, polite and she called back within 5-minutes to tell me George would be there by 10:30 AM. Sure enough he was. George and his assistance, Damond (Spelling?) were very professional; Damond asked me questions, queried me on where I first saw the back up; checked the drainage in the back, the traps in the back and front and concluded the best thing was to snake from the front, where water first appeared. He snaked more than 80 feet from the front and did some snaking toward the back. Spent about 25 minutes snaking and conferring with me. He gave me a receipt and took a check. This business guarantees its work for 1 year ( it is on the receipt!) and I hope, pray I don't have to call them back. I was very satisfied with George's!

+ 0 moreIt was during the big storm. I don't know if I liked or disliked them. I wanted to make sure that my drain was clean in preparation to the storm. They were very good. He came and looked at the drain. There was a little complication and he understood it right away. He cleaned it and he wrapped up. I told him that I had another drain up in the front and if he could give me a price on that one as long as he was here. He said that it would cost as much as the other drain. I said okay and that was it. I would recommend his services to others. It was not a personality contest. He came, he did his job and he went. He was quick and did his business. It was not a brain surgery. I thought that his price was a little high. He should have been more compromising on the second drain. I did not need it but as long as he was there I thought that I would take a precautionary shot. He was almost automatic. He was very plain spoken and did not talk unnecessarily. He had his right to have his price. It worked during the storm and stopped the flooding. He had that thing up and about. His responsiveness was not good. It was a tough time as everybody was expecting a storm but he kept in touch with me. Somebody called to let me know about what to expect and where he was. So, I would grade him well on punctuality. He knew his business and performed well.

There’s always somebody to answer the phone. I’ve dealt with them for a long time. Their price is a little high. I would definitely use them again in the future if need be.

Description of Work: He snaked out the sewer pipe going thru the basement from the back yard to our internal sewer connection. He snaked out our main sewer from the front of the house to the back of the house and from the front to the street. So he did two separate traps. He was very polite and and insisted on moving all things blocking the two traps himself, which is nice because my back hurts me and it would have hurt me to be moving the plates and other objects.

+ 0 moreWater was beginning to back up into a basement shower when doing laundry. It seemed that the sewer was backing up when a large amount of water was being sent through the pipes. I called George's Sewer Service since they were on Angie's List with good reviews as well as the fact that they had late hours. I made an appointment for the same day at 8 PM for them to come take a look at the issue. They arrived promptly to investigate the issue. I also asked them to take a look at my kitchen drain since that had some back up problems as well. They quoted me a price for both. I thought the drain cleaning price was too high but the sewer cleaning price seemed to be more on par with other places though probably a little higher as well. They have a one year guarantee on the sewer cleaning so I decided to go with using them to fix my problem. The work was done in under an hour even though the sewer cleaning needed three tries before the clog was removed. The kitchen drain was also snaked to remove the clog that existed. My only gripe was that during the snaking process, dirt went all over my new kitchen cabinets as well as in areas of my basement. For the price, I expected a little more care taken to prevent the dirt from going all over or at least a warning so that I could have protected the areas a little better so clean up would not have been too much of a problem.

+ 1 more1. Water in the basement bathtub started to come out of the drain into the tub.... realized that there is a sewer issue. Was kind of expecting it as the sewer was never drained - 5yrs. 2. Found good and recent reviews of George's Sewer Service. Called George's Sewer Service and some other company Saturday morning around 9AM. "Some other company" did not pick up the phone. George's Sewer Service picked up the phone told me that the van will be at our address in 30min - I was leaving the house at that point, so we rescheduled for later time Saturday. 3. George's Sewer Service van arrived perfectly on time. 4. All potential costs were clearly spelled out to me. After I agreed to each procedure and the associated costs, procedures were performed. 5. So, the sewer needed to be cleaned and it was. 6. Nothing unnecessary was done and the cost was what I expected it to be (as it was discussed prior). 7. No b******* 8. I did not give the Price an A because the drain/sewer cleaning is not cheap in general - it is not a reflection on George's Sewer Service.
