He came as scheduled and on time. He and his wife, who makes the phone appointments were both very nice to work with. I will use this service again and recommend him

Everything went well. Eddie himself fielded my initial call last week and we set this date for the service between8am and 12 noon. Eddie himself called me @ 9:45am to tell me his whereabouts and the approximate time he'd reach me. He came, as promised, took care of business and that was that. He was punctual, courteous and couldn't have been more professional. If there is any downside, it appears he works alone and is extremely busy, so an appointment may be several days out. However, as a professional courtesy, he promised not to charge me an additional service call fee to take a look at a faulty dishwasher unit I had in my primary home in the neighborhood. (He was simply too busy to get to it today...but, in all fairness, I didn't request he look at it untill today.) I expect to follow up with him and intend to use him in thge future for any appliance problems that may arise.

It went as smooth as could be, he talked me through the repair and explained to me why it broke in the first place. Being a tradesman, it was easy to see that this man is a true professional.

He explained what was wrong with the dryer and what would be involved in fixing it. He also gave his honest opinion and advice as to whether or not the repair would be worth the cost involved. Based on the length of time that I had the dryer and the cost to repair, I decided that it was time to purchase another dryer. He also looked at my refrigerator and showed me that my drain in my freezer section was not clogged. He suggested that I defrost the freezer completely which would eliminate the ice build up. He was very friendly and professional all at the same time. I would definitely recommend him to others.

He thoroughly checked out the refrigerator and then advised me the problem wasn't the refrigerator. The problem was the outlet. He then tested all the outlets in my kitchen.

Eddie Roth was very professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. He arrived promptly, and had the necessary tools and replacement parts in his truck. I would definitely use him again, and would recommend him to others without reservation.

Ordered the replacement part. The part took about 10 days to get to them. During this wait I had to call to find out whats the delay. But once the parts were received the company called and set up a time to do the job.

Eddie was great- on time, no nonsense, honest and more than fair price. Would definitely use again- a pleasure to get this kind of service.

From the moment we called Eddie we had a great experience. He called back swiftly and set up an appointment. On the morning of the appointment he called to update me on what time he would be arriving. He arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Throughout it all he was pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. I will be using him for all my appliance services in the future.

Our dishwasher was doing an increasingly bad job of cleaning the dishes, and soap tray wouldn't even empty. I called Eddie. From the moment I left a message with him, he returned all calls promptly, was always courteous, stayed in touch while we negotiated/changed dates for him to come over (he had to make two trips), etc. Once we'd scheduled a visit, he arrived promptly, was friendly and professional and soon diagnosed the problem as a faulty pump. He ordered the new pump, calling as soon as it came in to arrange for coming back and installing it. Everything went extremely smoothly and our dishwasher is working beautifully now. The entire transaction was pleasant and professional from beginning to end. His price seemed extremely reasonable, given that it included purchasing an expensive part. I will definitely call him back if I need another appliance repair.

I'm very happy I called Eddie to check out my washer. He was totally honest, punctual and professional. I will absolutely use him again if need be. Eddie took a look at the washer and gave me an honest recommendation; He said that this particular washer has a few recalls out on it and that the parts needed to fix the problem with it's assembly are very expensive. He said I might be able to get them from Sears via the recall, although that it would take at least a month. He also told me that the labor involved with this kind of repair would be expensive. Due to these things and due to the likelihood that another problem would probably arise with the machine, he suggested that it might be best that I go out and buy a new washer with a better track record (such as something made by LG) instead of spending time and money repairing this one. Sort of bad news to bear, but welcome in the sense that I'd much rather hear the truth then spend a lot of money and hassle trying to fix something that's already doomed. Eddie waived the normal $40 visit fee. Clearly a very honest helpful guy.

On 5/3/2013 late afternoon called Eddie's Modern Appl. Serv. about a refrigerator not cooling properly. He gave me some simple tasks to do to before he would look at it (unplug it, remove food , keep freezer & refrigerator doors open). He said he could look at it the next day 5/4/2013 at about 10AM. On 5/4/2013 Eddie arrive on time and was polite & courteous . I showed him the defective appl. he explained to me in simple langauge (not in tecnical terms) of what it would cost to repair or replaced it. In the end I decided I would have to replaced the appl. I would highly recommend Eddie's Modern Appl. Serv. because I felt he was polite on time and most of all gave an honest accessment the job.

Washing machine flooded the basement. Eddie arrived filled the machine drained the machine and quickly decided the drain needed to be cleared. Pleasant, professional service was received.

Eddie did an evaluation for $40, then got the part and returned the next day.

Eddie quickly responded to my service call, and was available to come look at our washing machine when convenient for me. He explained his billing very clearly. On the day of the appointment Eddie called an hour before arriving and came on time. Within just a few minutes Eddie had diagnosed the problem (our machine needs a new transmission) and allowed me to decide if it was worth proceeding with the fix (which would be several hundred dollars). He did advise me that it might not be worth the fix. If we do decide to get a new transmission, I will certainly have Eddie do the install.

Smooth transaction. Promptly set up an appointment, got it fixed for $150 and it works. Very reasonable. Given the number of rip-off repair guys out there, am thankfor for service like this and also thankful for Angie's list. UPDATE April 8: OK so it was great for two weeks and then it broke down last week. Called Eddie back and he says he "might" come that day or the next day. He does not come that day, and does not call. When I called him several times the next day, he promises to come but does not show up and does not call to say he won't come. In the meanwhile, someone had taken off work to meet him. I called him the day after that, and after several calls, I reached him and he does come. He tinkered with the refrigerator, but the problem persists. Now he cannot be reached. I guess I should have called someone else or bought a new refrigerator. At this point, rather than risk spending more money on another bad repair, I am looking into a new fridge. BOTTOM LINE: If it's a simple repair, Eddie's your man, but if the simple repair does not work and you need to ask Eddie to come back, it might become challenging to reach him, and Eddie may find it challenging to diagnose the problem.

Our Asko dryer stopped spinning because of a broken belt. Eddie arrived in the time frame he promised and called before coming as promised and we didn't need to wait for an appointment. He fixed our dryer quickly the day after we called. I would absolutely recommend using him, and would use him again.

Eddie called and came on time. Very polite and courteous. Fixed the frig and was carefull about moving stuff around. I will definetly recommend him to my freinds.

He was very good. He was clean. Any spills, he was on top of it. He was courteous and very professional. He also disposed of any unwanted parts. I will give him a call first if any other appliance has an issue. He was also very promt in responding to my first query.

I got an appointment for the next day after my call, and Eddie was on time. He figured out what was wrong right away, and explained to me what was wrong with the burned out part, and ordered a new one. He also suggested that I have an electrical cord upgraded to code to ensure no shorts in future. He called when the part came in and came in soon after to replace the part. The dishwasher works great now. Better, in fact, that originally, as I think there may have been something defective in that part from the beginning. He was courteous, and professional and got the job done quickly, so I would definitely use him again.

Eddie was great - super responsive on the phone, got an appointment the next day. When he showed up, it was generally around the time he said it would be and he gave me an hour heads up. I really appreciated that. When he arrived he was quick to the point but didnt use a ton of jargon. I didnt feel like he was feeding me any lines to embellish the issue for more money. 75% or more of the time I feel this way with anyone repairing anything that own that I dont fully understand how it works. Good on Eddie, I'd use him again for sure.

The repairman came within the time specified and called in advance. He was polite and efficient; he fixed the problem within 30 minutes. I paid by credit card and received a receipt. I would definitely recommend Eddie's Modern Appliance service.

Excellent service! Got a next day appointment. He was right on time and did the job in 10 minutes. Price was extremely reasonable. I'm very happy to get my refrigerator back. I highly recommend Eddies Modern Appliance Service!

My tenant emailed me about a problem with their refrigerator, I called Eddie as his is the top-rated company in the search, he called me right back, made an appt with my tenant for today, went out this morning, fixed the problem, tenants paid and will take it out of the rent. Couldn't be easier. Definitely recommended.

Couldn't have been easier. Called Eddie last night and within 24 hours he was in my apartment, assessed the problem, provided me a discounted quote and repaired the problem. Didn't take more than 20 minutes. Eddie's courteous and knows what he's doing. I'd definitely call on Eddie again.
