Big Apple Moving and storage is a full service moving and storage company in New York City. We are thoroughly experienced and offer expert service in all phases of local and long distance moving. We also offer storage at our local High Security facility for as long or as short as you need; you can stay with us anywhere from one week to some time in the indeterminate future. As one of New York City's longest running moving companies we pride ourselves in being professional and fully equipped to move anything from a sprawling estate, house or apartment, to a piano or just a few pieces. Description of Work: The team of 6 moved us from one apt to another. Every move has some small hiccups but the team worked very hard and it went as smoothly as can be expected. I definitely recommend them and would use them again! Another huge thanks to the team!

No problems whatsoever.
Description of Work: Joe and his team were called in to move a large one-bedroom apartment into a PODS moving container on site -- no truck delivery. Not only was their quote significantly lower than that of most licensed movers I called, he was able to accommodate a small and shifting service window. The Big Apple team was prompt, friendly, fast and professional. I recommend them highly.

The easiest move ever!
Description of Work: The movers they sent were fabulous. They were punctual, helpful and really saved me money because they were quick as well. I moved my things from a one bedroom apartment into a storage facility. Nothing was damaged; they took very good care of my items. The original estimate was $800; they saved me over $200 on the move. They were so good at packing items in the storage facility that I was able to rent a smaller room saving me $100 per month. How great is that! I strongly recommend these movers.

Below average. First of all, they charged us about about $150 more than their estimate. They included $134 for the travel time that they didn't mention previously. The guys were nice and tried to be helpful but they took a couple of pieces of furniture apart and didn't try or weren't able to put them back together correctly. They also put some pretty bad scratches and dings in several pieces of furniture and broke one of our speakers.
Description of Work: Big Apple moved the contents of our one and a half bedroom apartment from Park Slope to the Upper West Side.

THE ESTIMATE GIVEN TO THIS CUSTOMER WAS $703.00 WITH MOVING SUPPLIES. THE MOVING JOB CAME OUT TO $986.13 ABOUT 20% OVER THE ESTIMATED COST, WHICH IS 1 ¼ HOURS MORE THAN ESTIMATED. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A RIP OFF. IT WAS JUST A JOB THAT TOOK LONGER THAN EXPECTED. THE CUSTOMER STATES “THE MOVERS TOOK FURNITURE APART AND DIDN’T TRY OR WEREN’T ABLE TO ASSEMBLE IT’. HOW CAN THE CUSTOMER NOT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE OF NOT TRYING TO PUT THE FURNITURE TOGETHER AND NOT BEING ABLE TO PUT IT TOGETHER? IF WE ‘DID NOT TRY” HE WOULD SEE US NOT TOUCHING THE FURNITURE. IF WE “WEREN’T ABLE” HE WOULD SEE US TRYING BUT NOT ABLE TO DO IT. THAT STATEMENT ALONE SAYS SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS COMPLAINT. WHEN WE ARRIVED THE SUPERVISOR AGAIN EXPLAINED TRAVEL TIME TO THE CUSTOMER. WHEN WE WERE FINISHED MOVING SOMEONE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ARGUED WITH US THAT “THEY” WERE NEVER TOLD ABOUT TRAVEL TIME. WE NEVER TOLD HIM BECAUSE WE NEVER SAW HIM. THIS COMPLAINT LETTER IS THE FIRST THAT WE HEARD ABOUT ANY DAMAGE. IT WAS NEVER MENTIONED TO THE SUPERVISOR OR THE OFFICE. WHAT REALLY HAPPENED IS THAT THIS CUSTOMER SAID WE DID NOT MENTION TRAVEL TIME: WE DID. I PERSONALLY GAVE THIS ESTIMATE, AND I HAVE BEEN TELLING MY CUSTOMERS ABOUT TRAVEL TIME FOR 27 YEARS. IT SEEMS TO ME THE CUSTOMER WAS ANGRY THAT I WOULD NOT TAKE THE TRAVEL TIME CHARGE OFF THE BILL; HENCE THE COMPLAINT.

This was my first time moving & I did not know what to expect from a moving company. I received my estimate & the crew arrived at 10 am to start my job, the crew chief took a look in my apartment & from then on everything was just being moved. The movers were well coordinated, they worked so well together & the move came in $15 over my estimate. I was very pleased with this company & the crew on my move.

I THOUGHT THIS COMPANY DID A GREAT JOB. THEY WORKED VERY HARD AND GOT THE JOB DONE IN ONE DAY, SO WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THAT. NOTHING WAS BROKEN OR LOST IN THE PROCESS, SO WE HAVE RECOMMENDED THEM MANY TIMES TO PEOPLE IN THE AREA.
