Shleppers Moving & Storage

We've used Shleppers for years, and as usual, the move went pretty smoothly! The movers were punctual and friendly. The only hiccup this time was there was a miscommunication about wardrobe boxes, as there was no record that I had requested them. Additionally, prices have increased a lot since out last move, but Shleppers still had the best price of all the companies I talked to. Overall, the move was fast and easy and if we move again we will use Shleppers!

Schleppers is an awesome moving company. I originally used them a few years ago when I needed to move my mom from Florida to New York City. They were great then and they were just as great on this move from New York city to Chicago. Everyone in the office is very professional and helpful they handled everything in a timely manner and everything that they said they were going to do they did. The movers were friendly and nice. I couldn’t recommend them anymore highly.

Went very well. They arrived before the scheduled time. Wrapped and packed everything efficiently. Was extremely impressed how they were able to maneuver all items and fit them in a tight storage facility. Were communicative the whole time as to when they would arrive at storage facility. Helped fit items in the car that couldn't fit in storage unit. Very pleasant to work with.

I really appreciated the fact that he took my call over the weekend when I had a question about my move which was to occur that Monday! The crew that moved me were awesome. I recently moved for the third time with Shleppers. They pack and move everything for you, taking all the effort out of moving. They show up on time, take good care of your things, price is reasonable, what else do you want?

Everything was incredibly professional - from the first initial pricing consultation, the ease in explaining the price (which was very reasonable), insurance etc, to the movers, efficiency and thoroughness - it was seamless and incredibly trustworthy. I booked last night and they were still incredibly communicative and clear. The movers were pleasant, professional, timely and very personable. They worked incredibly hard and were nothing but positive and helpful. I am so thankful I went with this company and would recommend them. without reservation, to anyone and certainly use them again in the future

The Shleppers Team did such an amazing job and could not have been more professional! They arrived 10 minutes early at our storage unit facility and took care of moving all of the items into the truck and moving us from NJ to our new home in CT. They were super careful moving everything inside the house and took care of setting up our bed for us as well. We could not recommend them enough! Also, the price was the best quote we found around and appreciate that it was flat rate and they could take their time and not be rushed, even though they finished within a few hours. Highly recommend!! :)

The Schleppers team, led by Herb, was ABSOLUTELY wonderful. They were so professional, worked quickly and efficiently, took great care in packing my belongings, and were beyond patient. I was so impressed with their service and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Couldn't have gone better. We were so nervous with this being our first long distance move and reading all the mover horror stories. Not only was the price right but literally everything went smoothly. The people who arrived to move us out in NYC were so diligent with our stuff and wrapped everything so carefully that literally not a single dish or item was damaged. Even all of our white furniture that I was sure would get dinged didn't have a single scratch. They ended up being even on the slightly early side of the arrival to bring our stuff to denver even with an impending blizzard. The guys who dropped our stuff off/driver were just as great as the guys who packed it all up. The driver Youssef literally answered every one of my texts/calls as he was on the journey when i asked for an ETA. He was so nice and gracious-set up furniture in our new place with out asking. Helped us position the trash away from our new home. These guys are 10/10. Not a single item broken or damaged, that alone is a win but the customer service on every end of the business was outstanding.

I highly recommend Schleppers Moving and Storage for your next move. Beginning with my initial contact with the customer service representative who was friendly and accommodating, I scheduled a walk through. Schleppers estimator used a tablet not paper and pencil on an old form which the others had done. I was impressed with the technology he used as we walked through the house. Making changes to what was going/not going was very easy using an electronic form. I needed storage because our new house would not be ready for another 6 to 8 weeks. Schleppers estimate was lower than the other 3 estimates. They do not use 3rd party carriers and every aspect of the moving and storage is handled by the them and only them. Moving day the crew showed up on time with all the right packing equipment, enough truck space and worked quickly. No hidden fees or costs with Schleppers! The actual cost was within a few hundred dollars of the quote. Thank you!

The company was good until the movers damaged the flooring and some furniture. The movers themselves admitted to the damage. Schleppers requested 2 estimates for there-airs which we got. Full premium coverage was paid for and now Schleppers is dragging their feet for months by not willing to pay what the cost was to make it as it was prior to the move. The floors were 3 years old and new planks weren’t longer available so the floors, part of approx 700 sqft needs to be sanded and redone. Schleppers will not even pay 1/5. We have witnesses and the movers own admission. Think twice before hiring as your full insurance premium payment gives you nothing at Schleppers. If thinks how they treat their customers as we have experience then run if you have nice stuff and like to keep it in one piece. After the move we also miss 2-3 boxes.

Everything was put together in a moving truck and transported from our home and storage facility to our new house.

The experience was excellent. The team showed up in time during a snowstorm / pandemic and completed the job quickly and even assembled some furniture. Great experience.

Went well. The crew was awesome. Did have a hiccup as they accidentally broke a window in the stairwell, but their claims team was on top of it immediately and is working with the condo to figure it out.

It went Great!! Highly recommended. Very professional experience. Everything was moved out and in to my new home within a couple hours. No damages, reassemble made as needed and items placed where EVER needed.

I hired Shleppers to pack and move me in November of 2020—a residential move in Manhattan. It was an unmitigated DISASTER from start to finish—with multiple damages to furniture, improper packing, missing items, lack of safety protocols during the move, as well as irresponsibility and dishonesty from the moving crew, and a complete lack of customer service. It was a nightmare move, and here are 5 reasons why: 1. MULTIPLE MISSING ITEMS: Some items simply did not make it from the moving truck into my new apartment, including a folding step stool and three rugs (worth a total of $265). I might be able to chalk that up to a moving mistake, BUT two days later, I realized that 3 framed pieces of art valued at a total exceeding $20,000 were also missing. (These pieces were eventually located over 5 days later, one by one, by the foreman. They were miraculously found on the truck, which had allegedly been emptied and inspected by him right after the move). 2. EXTENSIVE DAMAGES: The crew was incredibly reckless. Not only did they break the leg of a $6000 Design Within Reach sofa, but they left it in the basement (it was unable to fit in the freight elevator) and never told me what had happened. They simply duct taped the leg on! A second Shleppers crew (that I had to pay extra for) came the next day to carry the sofa up to my apartment, and they discovered that the leg had been snapped in two. Shleppers did send a carpenter to repair the leg, which entailed super-gluing and drilling screws into it. It’s unclear how long this peg leg will hold up, and it looks like ****. The crew carelessly moved an armoire and dropped it on a custom built desk, creating large divots in the wood. They removed wooden knobs from a credenza and lost them. They did not properly pack a Design Within Reach floor lamp (neither removing the lamp shade nor the lightbulbs!) before transporting it. I watched that lamp tumble onto Riverside Drive! Another vintage 1950s lamp shade that was never removed from the lamp or packed at all, is now it is completely bent and lopsided. 3. IRRESPONSIBLE PACKING: Extremely valuable glass and bone china items were put into boxes with no wrapping or protection whatsoever. Two vintage glass globe lights were tossed in a box on top of a printer and had another lamp and a small end table placed on top of them with no protection whatsoever! Even though I reiterated multiple times that all these items were very fragile, they were not even wrapped in paper or bubble wrap. 4. LACK OF CONCERN FOR SAFETY PROTOCOLS: We are in the middle of a global pandemic and I expected that everyone on the crew would take their safety and mine very seriously. One individual on the crew did not wear a mask. In addition, this employee was agitated and rude throughout the move, at one point yelling at me while I was discussing something with the foreman. The super at my new address actually told him not to come back into the building because he was yelling and cursing. 5. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE: When you call Shleppers, you will get the Dispatching Dept. When you are transferred to Customer Service, you will eventually talk to a Claims Representative. There is no real “customer service” at all. I called Shleppers on the day that I realized that art was missing, in the desperate hope that they could recover the lost property as soon as possible. The “customer service” and the “operations/dispatch” representatives (same thing) were unresponsive. There was no attempt to look for the lost valuables, or check the picture bins they were packed in. There was no sense of urgency at all. In fact, I was told that the moving truck had been completely emptied and inspected by the foreman of the moving crew, and that the “empty” picture boxes had been flattened. Having been told by dispatch that they could do nothing, and getting no response whatsoever from the nonexistent customer service department, I emailed the co-CEO and owner, who did reply within 24 hours—but with a form email that said I should contact someone at customer service! I filed an insurance claim with Shleppers (a weeks-long, nickel-and-diming ordeal), and their settlement was so paltry and insulting that I refused to sign the claims waiver (stating that I would not post anything disparaging or negative about the company) in order to get the money. THIS IS THE WORST MOVING COMPANY I’VE EVER USED.

Amazing! Steve was excellent at coordinating the job. He was quick to respond with any questions. Raldy and his team moved us and I could not have dreamed of a better team. These guys were fast, efficient, kind and the best part, not one thing broke. I will 1000% use them again.

Everything went very well, with only a minor hiccup. Derek, our estimator, did a wonderful job walking us through everything in our very speedy virtual estimate appointment. I had scheduled an hour but it only took about twenty minutes for a 3bd/2ba townhome. Randy and his crew were excellent yesterday. A crew of five arrived at 9am and worked feverishly for about eight hours packing everything in the house and moving it out. It couldn't have been easier! They were clean, professional, and very quick with their work. The only issue I have is that I had ordered (during the estimate) two art crates to be specially constructed for the transportation and storage of two high value, large format paintings. When the crew arrived yesterday the crates weren't on the truck, nor had they been built. Somebody from the team needed to drive back to the Bronx and get the crates. I feel as though they may have finished an hour earlier if they brought them in the first place.

all went well- very efficient, quick and careful. made things easy since we were not able to be present in CT since we live in CA and covid19 prevented us from going to CT.

I can't say enough about the fantastic Shleppers' team. From the sales booking rep who was friendly, nice, knowledgeable when taking down our inventory, answering questions, and patient with changes and additions, to the professional crew who moved us 50 miles out-of-state, not only great pricing but excellent and reliable service. And when you are moving, especially with the challenges of dealing with COVID and scarcity of available movers due to COVID, these are three things that will make or break your move. On the day of the move, the four crew members arrived just prior to the booking time and got right to work. They all were extremely respectful, and worked as a cohesive team staging, moving items into the truck, providing extra taping or packaging, protection, padding, where needed. Then they hit the road and went straight to our address, no detours, no excuses and gave us the same great service carefully unloading our belongings into the house and garage. In record time, too! No breaks, no scratches, no fuss, no hassles, no headaches. Just great service all around. Highly recommend.
