Shleppers Moving & Storage

My family and I were moving out of NYC. We booked another moving company that didn’t shot you with enough guys on moving day. We had items and boxes that didn’t fit on the first truck. I called Schleppers and they were able to accommodate a next day (end of the month) move. The crew was excellent the customer service was excellent. Schleppers saved the day!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If anything goes wrong, they will not make it right. They damaged $20,000 worth of my belongings due to a leak in the unit where they stored my things and offered me an insulting settlement of 250 even after I provided photos and receipts etc. They did not inform me that there had been a leak and I only found out when they moved me back in and my brand new rug was covered in mold, my furniture and bedding was damaged and precious family photos ruined. They had me submit more and more paperwork - time consuming for me but I wanted reimbursement- and then offered a pittance - a total waste of my time. I would have understood a leak - some things are accidents and cannot be avoided - but I can’t understand their unwillingness to make it right with me.

It was a perfect experience! The movers were absolutely wonderful and super nice. They helped with so much and got the packing up and unpacking done super quickly!

How did it go it went great for beginning to end. I had no problems at all with the Guy that moved us. Everyone was very professional which I love. That's why when I needed to move again, I gave them a call.

They did a quick and thorough job and were incredibly communicative in the lead-up and day of.

Shleppers was wonderful. The staff was excellent before during and after the move. they packed our stuff like it was their own. I couldn't have asked for a better crew. the move out took 4 hours. and the unload took 2. The guys hit a few glitches at the new apartment. They took much longer then expected to arrive at the new apartment and the building made them move the truck to far away. The guys were good about it. However they forgot to set up the truck and left 6 blankets behind. We called them ASAP to get them, but they never did. Overall they were Thebes movers we have ever had.

It was my best move ever and totally stress free, if that’s even possible?

From the senior relocation consultant "Nissim", the senior long distance coordinator "Tamara", to the moving staff workers and all the office team; everybody was responsive, accommodating, professional and efficient! We had such a wonderful experience! The movers were polite, considerate of our home (laid down paper, used show covers), they took their time moving objects BUT worked efficiently. They also were more than willing to remove furniture as we set up our house, built beds, and removed all trash. I would use them again and will HIGHLY recommend to friends & family.

Excellent! The movers were very talented. They took good care of my stuff and were very efficient. I used them once in the past and would use them again. No issues with any of my stuff and they were able to reassemble my bed frame and put the furniture in my new apartment just as I wanted. They also moved my TV and monitors and no issues. Highly recommend.

Schlepper’s were punctual and professional. They reviewed with us how we wanted items packed and took great care with packing items that were very delicate and fragile. They handled the packaging of artwork with care. They were very respectful and came with an excellent work ethic.

The guys were amazing. We had no issues and none of our property was lost or damaged. I highly recommend them.

The movers were very friendly and punctual. We had two pickup locations in Brooklyn and they picked up/delivered all of our items upstate quickly - they were very organized and made the whole day run smoothly and efficiently. All around, this was a lovely, refreshing moving experience that I would recommend to anyone.

The move was fantastic. They arrived right in their designated window, and were easy to work with from the start. They were professional and polite, and wrapped our/packed up our items with precision and care. Unloading was also easy, as the only thing I needed to do was inform the movers which room to put what item/box. 10/10, would recommend.

TERRIBLE Experience I have moved internationally over nine times and can easily say this is the worst inexperienced movers I have come across. To start, their crew were mainly loaders not packers, they did not know how to handle sensitive items or delicate furniture, the first thing they did was negotiate their tips. I paid over TWENTY THOUSAND Dollars for Professional packing and care, and what I got instead was a terrible job and bad attitude. The did not only break our irreplaceable china items, but they also scratched/broke my unique furniture, paintings, lamp shades and valuables. I had to guide their inexperienced crew on how to wrap and pack items and provided them with warping foam and wood packing crates to protect my items, yet the result was a disaster. To pain to injury, the crew members insisted on their negotiated tip and the company claimed that they needed a bigger truck as the volume was larger than what they anticipated and asked for an extra amount of $1,650 on top what they received already. I was obliged to pay to release my shipment. When we received the shipment, I shocked to see that they sent the wooden crates which I provided them for protection of my items EMPTY, we also received two boxes which belonged to another client and had missing items which they stated they could not locate. I sent them over 30 pictures of the broken/damaged items and their customer care person asked me to contact the insurance company as they could not help. No apologies No regrets but simply a careless attitude. We are literally in pain seeing our valuable which we owned for over 25 years and have been moving with them from country to country DAMAGED. I will NEVER RECOMMED Shleppers

I have used them before (moved from Westchester to NYC) and knew I could rely on them to safely transport an upright piano and other furniture. They even showed up early, wrapped and packed everything in 1 hour, even picked up random oblong items I was not sure how to pack! These guys are fast, professional, definitely know how to wrap and my move was stress free. My piano is happy in its new home :) Thanks again to the team, great job!

I picked Shleppers because I'd had a good experience with them in 2013, but this was like a completely different company. Will never use them again and strongly advise against it. I paid extra because they offered a live video estimate using FaceTime, unlike other movers who would've required me to do my own detailed inventory, including counting all the boxes after they're packed, which is difficult if you need to book ahead of time and can't live out of a suitcase for 2 weeks. They showed up, started complaining that the estimate was inaccurate, and I agreed that they should call headquarters. Then, they started the move, half-loaded the truck, and declared that I would have to pay 25% more in order to finish the move! Of course I was over a barrel at this point – I thought I was paying their higher prices to avoid this situation! On top of that, they put a big hole in a leather sofa and offered my $35 to replace it, since I hadn't paid even MORE money. No better than the worst of NYC movers.

Shleppers was extremely helpful during this stressful move. They were accommodating and responsive every step of the way. They even called during the move to make sure everything was going as planned. To no fault of their own, a lot of things were changed last minute but they worked with me. They arrived to the pick up location an hour early and ready to go. They arrived to the destination early as well. All in all, it was a great experience thanks to Shleppers.

It went well. The movers packed everything efficiently and moved everything to my new apartment in a timely manner. They set up my bed and couch at the new apartment, which was very helpful.

The movers came right on time, the process was great with nothing unexpected happening, nothing got broken, the people who helped me set up the move over the phone were awesome and easy to work with and they took care of all the things on their end they needed to. They were recommended to me highly and I highly recommend using them for any one else’s moving needs

The day got off to a later-than-expected start due to a tropical storm (obviously not the fault of the guys). They swooped in and with the most amazing work ethic and attitude, spent the entire day packing up my house. We didn't leave the old house until 5pm, which meant there was a lot more to go. Sweating like crazy and busting their butts they got us done, finally leaving the new house at 10:30pm. These guys were machines only stopping to eat the pizza I bought for them. There was nothing they could pack or carry, taking great care to protect both houses in the process (as we just redid the floors in the new house). Moving sucks, but it's better when you have a team of guys that care about your house, your happiness and your stuff.
