The movers were incredible and thoughtful and took great care in moving all of our furniture and valuables. They were timely and super professional - A+ service all around!

Their communication pre-move was excellent and easy. Paper work was handled by email and very simple. Move was very smooth. The guys were on-time, professional, and were very careful with my belongings. They are not the cheapest, but I would definitely recommend using them.

From a large house to a one bedroom apartment. I was overwhelmed and I was putting it off for the past six months. I happened to receive a card from Shleppers in the mail and I decided to call them. Bright and early in the morning when I saw Luis smiling face he put me at ease.He was extremely competent ,patient compassionate understanding, quick and careful with all my things. I was worried that my large electric bed would not fit in the elevator but he did everything with these. The crew was so professional, they were kind and helpful, one of them speak Spanish so for me was a plus. They packed real well and carefully. The deliver was so easy, they reassemble all Fortuniture with no issues. I will recommend 100%

This was unequivocally the worst experience I’ve had with any company or business. The entire move was done completely unprofessionally. Nearly none of my property came away unscathed. The movers were beyond incompetent to the point of being hostile. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU LIKE PAYING PEOPLE TO DESTROY AND STEAL YOUR PROPERTY. Steven came out to inventory our items and give us an estimate. I don’t know if he has an issue with counting or just feeling lazy that day, but most of our items were not officially inventoried (including large items). We were quoted at $1525, an obscene amount to pack and move so few things from such a small place. This is Manhattan. We live in a tiny box. We should have known something was off, but Shleppers had come HIGHLY recommended by friends and family. On the day of the move, the movers showed up late. They made quick work of destroying our apartment. First they took the TV down to the van, and left it unattended with doors wide open. They packed everything haphazardly. Food was with clothes. Dirty cleaning supplies were packed with perishables and clean clothes. The dog’s food bowl was packed with kibble and water still in it. The coffee maker was packed with water still in it. Electronics were packed without having cables removed. An heirloom marble table, which was specifically supposed to be individually wrapped per our contract, was moved with no protection. Electronics were packed under open liquids. Records were packed at odd angles with items that could damage them. Discs were packed devoid of their cases with items that scratched them. The movers quickly ran out of boxes because they were only filling them part way. When they ran out, they refused to pack the bathroom (which is about 5’x5’— no hyperbole here) or the fridge. We had to call the company to get the foreman to resume work. The foreman demanded a cash tip of 20% multiple times. I didn’t feel comfortable giving it to him, but I was also isolated with four or five large men and he was very aggressive and repetitive in his demand. When we arrived to the new apartment, we began to see the CHAOS that had become of our property. If I didn’t know any better I’d think they threw our items down the stairs instead of carrying them. Not a single moving blanket was used. They crushed one of my cacti. They packed another in a box with perishables, killing the plant and ruining the food (the movers laughed when they discovered this). Both of our tower speakers were cosmetically damaged. Our receiver was fried. Both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Pro were damaged. The heirloom marble table was damaged beyond repair. Custom frames were broken. Both leather chairs were damaged. The bed frame was damaged. The record shelf was damaged. The TV console had pieces missing. They cut through our bedsheet while removing the plastic cover. Magnets, especially of an explicit and LGBT nature, were stolen. MANY items were left behind, meaning that we had to taxi back and forth for the next day to retrieve them. The list could go on. As soon as they left, I called Shleppers. Robert was a professional at least. He inventoried all of my items, had me send the photos, and immediately reached out to upper management. He told me that in the 40yr history of the company, he had only heard of a move this bad happening maybe 3 times. Unfortunately it’s clear that’s not the case, given all of the bad yelp reviews. That evening, Howard, the third in command at the company, called to assure he would “make things right” despite their pathetic 60¢/lb. insurance policy. He was appalled that we were forced to tip cash, saying that demanding money from a client was the biggest no-no they had on the rule book. He asked me for the my documentation of issues. I sent them over, and he forwarded them to Amy in the claims department. Amy sent over a claim form. The form is poor at best. They state that they don’t move pressed wood or Ikea furniture. Steven never mentioned this. You can only file claim for items the sales rep has documented, and as I mentioned before, he documented practically nothing. Additionally, they wanted links and SKUs for all my items, many of which were antique or were impossible to find a comparable item to. When I called Amy to complain, she said I must fill it out regardless. She told me she was “unable to refund cash” (for the tip), and that, despite Howard’s assurances, we would, in fact only get the 60¢ on the lb.— and only for the items inventoried, which conveniently excluded all of the most valuable pieces. Howard did not continue to help us. Shleppers offered us an insulting $196 for our claim. $96 for damage, and $100 as a “good will” gesture. At this point, I’d rather have rented a U-Haul and destroy my own objects than pay someone else to do it. I have documentation and proof of this entire fiasco if the company tries to dispute or discredit any of what I have written.

I had an extremely small move to get a couch, a mattress/box spring, a dining set and a few boxes from Brooklyn to NJ. I have used Shleppers in the past for both my business and personal moves and never had an issue. So I didn't hesitate to hire them for this simple task. I booked this move for a Sunday morning and was told the movers would be there between 9-10 but get there at 9. The house in brooklyn is in a gated community where the officer at the gate asks to see every visitor's drivers license coming in. I was called at 9:30 by the driver telling me they didn't have their license on them--and none of the other movers on the truck did either. I was told some story about a piece of paper he left at home from the DMV that he carried around while waiting for his new license. Either way, how a moving company can let three truck drivers drive around without a license is a scary thought. I also called and spoke to the dispatcher at Shleppers and asked him what was going on, to which he stated "he left the paper at home...human error." His words exactly, check your phone logs Shleppers. The solution was another driver was going to drive over--from Astoria Queens--to take the truck into the gated community and then leave. Almost an hour later the new driver shows up and the truck finally arrives. Shortly after they arrived, they again explained they left the paper home. One of the movers immediately felt it necessary to tell me how much of a gratuity they get, with his hand out. I told him we'll settle up at the end, as should be customary! After a particularly difficult time getting a couch out of the house, we all left for the final destination. I arrived at the NJ destination about 50 mins later with light Sunday afternoon traffic. About 30 mins after I got there, wondering where the truck was I called the driver who explained to me that they were having transmission issues with their truck and couldnt drive more then 35mph. They had to add fluid in and pull over to the shoulder? Why were they driving a truck with mechanical issues? They also informed me that they were getting on the GWB---- a completely indirect and out of the way route from BKLYN to NJ (!) They should have in fact taken streets straight to the Verrazano bridge which is open to commercial truck traffic and would've saved over an hour from their completely, absurdly indirect route. I actually asked why are you in Manhattan--they said they weren't (?) even though the GWB obviously bridges Manhattan to NJ. Made no sense and altogether took 2+ hours for them to go from Brooklyn to NJ (40miles) One last bit of frustration: when I politely asked one of the movers for a helping hand to move an existing mattress out of my house I was told they'd have to charge me extra despite the gratuity I was fully intending to give them. Instead I (with 2 herniated discs in my lower back) moved the existing mattress and box spring with my 8 year old son to bring out of the house. Overall experience was very poor and inefficient with one avoidable issue after another. Felt like I was given the B or C team on a Sunday morning who were complete amateurs at this--and driving illegally to boot. This simple move should've been a walk in the park for any professional moving team but instead became a nearly full day event. Upon filling a complaint with Shleppers, I was offered a pittance of a refund from the full cost of the move (including my very generous and undeserving gratuity), in exchange for this they require a signed release stating I won't post any negative reviews on any website. I was also told a series of excuses and misrepresentations of the truth in their response to the facts of the events. Nice try.

On what would turn out to be a snowy day, the Shlepper's arrived early and were wonderful! Abdul, Aziz and Fires(sp) carefully wrapped items with packing blankets and used bins to move everything. They were responsive to any questions that I had. Would definitely recommend Shlepper's to anyone in the NYC metro area.

Overall well. The crew was great. Friendly and fast. Nothing was broken. My biggest criticism was their packing of the kitchen, which we hired them to do. It was chaotic and disorganized. We are still sorting out the kitchen 2 weeks later.

It could not have gone better. We had booked a month prior to the move with the mover we had used 5 years ago. I repeatedly asked for his certificate of insurance to no avail. Finally 6 days before the move we admitted he didn’t have the insurance the building management wanted. I called schleppers & they set up the move at a lower price & emailed their insurance certificate to our landlord. They showed up on time, dealt with everyone having an opinion & moved cabinets and desks 2-3 times to different walls. If they were annoyed (I would have been) they never showed it. The crew were pleasant, professional & patient. I have no hesitation recommending Schleppers.

Every aspect of the move went perfectly from the time I received my estimate until I was in the apartment. I was amazed at how quickly the men got the job done. They helped me with certain items, i.e. electronic devices, clothing, art work. Everything arrived in perfect condition. They were professional, courteous and efficient. They were so good that my daughter is now going to use them for her move.

What a great experience!! My moving crew arrived on time, with a friendly and helpful attitude. All my furniture was wrapped to ensure no damage. I couldn't believe how quickly once everything was ready that the truck was packed! After arriving at my new apartment everything was unloaded and brought into my new place. The crew took the time to make sure I was happy with the placement of all my things. This move went so smoothly and the crew was very professional. This is a review of Shleppers Moving and Storage located in the Bronx, NY. : In February of 2017 Shleppers Moving and Storage packed and moved myself and my wife to our retirement home in Florida. Upon the furniture’s, arrival it was obvious that a number of pieces were damaged. To be specific; a carved bench in which the leg was broken in a number of places and the arm was broken. A contemporary console tables leg which was removed for transportation was unable to be reassembled. The surface which is polyester showed cracks, which were a result of the movers attempt to reassemble the table. There was a chip in one of two Lucite bases which holds up a glass dining room table. Shleppers sent a furniture repair company over to assess and repair the furniture. It was determined by the companies specialist that except for the bench the other pieces were beyond repair. Shleppeers paid for repair of the bench and offered 60 cents a pound as recompense for the other pieces they damaged. They were willing to negotiate when my credit card (which I used to pay for the move) withdrew their payment of $16,000. Once the credit card determine that the time I filed my complaint exceed their limit for intervention and reinstated the payment, Shleppers broke off discussion. I am writing this review to warn anyone considering using Shleppers in the future to take heed. Be aware that this company does not take responsibility for their workers negligence.

Was the best experience I had with movers ever! They ate true to their word and they care about you!

The crew was always on time, if not early. They were all caring and carful with our furniture, friendly and thorough. I don't foresee us moving any time soon, but if we do, we will definitely be once again calling the team at Schleppers. thanks for always making our moves more pleasant and way less stressful!

Exceptionally well. They were professional and polite. Also very helpful. They gave furniture placement suggestions we hadn’t thought of and it worked perfectly! We love it. We have used them in the past and are using them to move my parents from Florida to NY. They are the best!

The day of delivery up in the Adirondacks was more of the same and I would highly recommend them. The price was much lower than other companies and very professional throughout the move. I have not one thing bad to say about the whole experience.

Fantastic service - from customer services on the phone / by email when organizing to the moving team, who were punctual, friendly, professional and a credit to the company. The movers worked non-stop and got the move done quickly.

The move was seamless! the crew worked really fast but with care to my items. They answered any questions that I had, and was able to complete the move within 5 hrs in warm conditions and hitting a little traffic along the way! All three crew members were very professional and courteous and I was pleasantly surprised.

Everything from the first phone call inquiring about services to the moment the crew left was spectacular. The relocation consulatant and representatives were thorough and checked in twice during the move. The foreman, Marco, was an absolute joy and very committed to making this a stress-free experience. He and his crew were both efficient and meticulous. They provided several suggestions for our new layout and had no problem moving large items more than once. Marco repaired an issue we've been having with our bedframe for years. These guys take great pride in their work and it shows.

We have moved many times in our lives and know that moving sucks. Most of our belongings were packed but Peter (foreman) and his crew were always conscientious in asking if other things that weren't packed needed to be moved. Thankfully to their vigilance, nothing was missed. However, Peter made the process as streamlined and painless as possible. I will definitely be using Shleppers again for any future moves. Back to Peter, he was kind, friendly, engaging, and extremely thorough. I cannot stop giving him praises. If you can, I would request him.

The move itself was perfect. They even helped make sure the furniture was in the right spot and move rugs...more than I expected. The only reason I give a B for Responsiveness is that my initial contact with them was not great. I got a different representative ( Frances) and all was amazing start to finish.

Begining with the initial contact with Shleppers to inqiure about date availability and price, Eliza was very professional and courteous. The contract emailed to me was very clear, the price was very reasonable. Several follow-up emails prior to moving day were very helpful; they even provide a service for getting mail fowarded. On moving day the movers were right on time and super nice and courteous. Furniture was wrapped in blankets which were taped in place, everything arrived fine. Set up at new place was perfect.

Easy & Excellent. Highly Recommended. My husband who does not give many compliments said the two movers did an outstanding job. Before move day, I experienced an easy and very thorough quote and booking process. My CC was charge the morning of the move and everything was delivered, set up and reassembled perfectly. A very conscientious and professional staff all around. I loved how the main office called to ensure all was going going well mid move too. There are so many variables when you relocate. I am thrilled my things got to me hassle free. I honestly could not be happier.
