Excellent experience

I called on a Monday and had an appointment within 2 days. Jamie (the technician) called 20 minutes before his arrival to let me know that he was on his way, and, even with flawed directions, arrived at my house on time. He completed the work efficiently and took the time to clean up after he was finished. Both Jamie and the man who scheduled my appointment were a pleasure to work with.

I called Larry the locksmith and scheduled an appointment to have all locks in my new home replaced with Medeco locks. Jaime arrived and replaced all locks. In addition, he tightened up some loose door bolts and advised me on how to use the locks. Jaime was very conscientious and did a great job.

Jaime is great! Excellent work, more than fair price. Needed a locksmith late at night to deal with a failed panic bar on an exit door. Given the late hour, they got there very quickly and called several times to update on their status. Once there, Jaime was absolutely excellent, very helpful and knowledgable. Quick, quality, thorough work and at a great price, especially for an emergency call. Would definitely use again for any project large or small.

I called Larry the Locksmith on Friday to ask if a locksmith would be available that evening to change the locks on our new apartment. The receptionist was very friendly and said that a locksmith would definitely be available, explained that there was an after hours fee for any appointment after 6pm, and answered my questions about the types of locks available. We didn't end up calling that night, but the next morning I called to make an appointment for later that afternoon. I spoke to the same receptionist who remembered me from the day before and was again very friendly and helpful. She set up an appointment for me, and the locksmith (Jaime) came right on the dot-- and called beforehand to offer to come earlier if it was convenient, since he was running ahead of schedule. When he arrived, he was friendly and knowledgeable and got right to work. He found problems with the current locks and fixed the structure of the locks in the door so that the issues were resolved and the new locks were able to function smoothly and provide a stronger lock. He was very professional, and I'd recommend his work to anyone-- it was a great experience all around.

I had asked my local locksmith to do this job. First he quoted a price of $600, then he simply refused to do it. I called Larry, who's employee came out the next day to look at the door and called me at work as we had arranged to discuss the job. He quoted me $285, and then emailed me a picture of the exact lock for my approval. It was a little special, so we had to wait for it to be ordered. When it arrived, Larry called me right away. We made an appointment the next day and he even called as he was on his way. He did the job very professionally, leaving me with instructions and the old lock. He even enlarged a part of the door where the strike on the mortise lock was in the way, so the whole door works better than it has in years. And he cleaned up all the sawdust, and caulked a little place that looked untidy, but he could have left it. Great Job!

It was expensive because these were two heavy duty Medico locks, a huge dead bolt and the regular door bolt lock. These locks are hardest to tick in and the keys cannot be copied in any hardware store. It can be bought only from a good locksmith like Larry?s. Our apartment is right next to the entrance to the roof top and so it was important that I got these expensive locks as someone breaking in from roof top is a common case where I live.

It was OK. The guy who showed up was a little strange - flip flopping back and forth about whether the lock was worth keeping or not. I got the sense that he didn't really know how to make that kind of decision, although he clearly knew how to fix a lock. His boss (Larry) who he called on the phone a lot seemed much more knowledable though. The locksmith at first started talking about overtime (which the original phone estimate did not mention). The boss cleared that all up though and the guy went away with the lock to make sure he got the right one, the boss called with the new price for doing both doors and the guy came back the same night and did the work quickly. He did ding the rear cylinder with his pliers though, which I didn't care too much about, but would have if it had been the front door. The guy also left the packaging garbage on our porch - would have been classier to throw it away.

THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL. LARRY THE LOCKSMITH GOT THE JOB DONE WONDERFULLY. THEY WERE VERY NEAT AND THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.
