Arrived on day promised even though thunder storms were predicted. Completed project in a day and a half. Everyone working was polite and respectful. Clean up was excellent. haven't found a nail yet!!

Last fall I had a roof leak so I called three contractors from Angie's List. Of the three Van Dusen was the first to respond and spent time explaining exactly what they would do. I didn't feel like I was pressured to sign a contract at that time. The other two contractors wanted me to sign a contract on the spot. One was even ready to start the roof the next day. Although Van Dusen couldn't replace the roof before winter they did repair the roof and took care of some of the snow removal during the winter. They did not charge me at that time. The agreement was that if I changed my mind and didn't have them replace the roof I would owe them an agreed upon amount for the repair. Every time the work crews were over they were very professional. I didn't hear any vulgar language and they treated me, my property and each other with respect. I was home on the day the roof was replaced and the person in charge of the crew walked me around a couple of times to explain how things were going and the work that was being performed. They protected my wife's landscaping, a very important detail, and cleaned up everything. Yes, we have found an occasional nail, but I think that is to be expected during the first couple of months. I would definitely recommend them to anyone having roof work done. One thing that really impressed me, a week after the work was done they dropped off a small basket of cookies, muffins and bread to show their appreciation.

Thank you Angie's List for guiding me to VanDusen Exteriors! I knew I was going to need a new roof when I bought my first house in 2014. VanDusen was one of three contractors I received quotes from in December 2014. I knew I didn't want the work done until spring, but got the quotes early so I could have a rough idea of how much to save. VanDusen impressed me not only with their quote (significantly lower than the others), but also with the detailed presentation of the estimate. Dan walked through with me how the process would work from start to finish, and even provided samples of the materials that would be used. He presented pricing for three different shingles options, and I went with the middle (Landmark PRO) which came with the 30-year warranty. Since VanDusen is one of a select few roofers that is CertainTeed certified. Dan also said they would put a few things up on the roof to keep the ice dams from forming over the winter which gave me the piece of mind I needed to sign the contract. I am so glad I got the quote as early as I did, because they were already scheduled out until May (very popular and I can see why)! With the long winter we had, I half expected my scheduled date of May 1st to be pushed out. However, they actually called in February to see if I'd like the roof done sooner because something had opened up in March. I declined (counting on my tax return to help with the cost), and when my roof leaked in March VanDusen came and removed snow from my roof at no charge!! 2 weeks before my scheduled date they called to collect the deposit (1/2 down) and select my single color. On the scheduled date, a crew of at least 10 arrived around 7:30 and Zack introduced himself and went through the plan. Since the existing roof was original to the home (1989), I thought we might have to pay for a few extra boards (3 are included)--but they only had to replace one. Zack took pictures throughout the process. As promised, they were done around 3:00 p.m and as others have commented did a miraculous job cleaning-up. I was so impressed that were having VanDusen come back out next week to give a quote on a few other projects.

Everything went on schedule from the initial estimate to job completion. The work was completed in one day with some follow up the next morning. This included removing the roofing on the flat portion and installing the new EPDM roof as well as the shingle portion of the house. It included removing and reinstalling a large retractable awning. All of the vent pipes had new collars installed and they did an excellent job of flashing the existing chimney. Looks 100% better now. They kept us informed throughout the job and suggested several excellent changes/improvements. The installation team headed by Zack were very professional and knowledgeable and were always working. They cleaned and removed all of the debris including using a magnetic roller to pick up any loose nails. I definitely recommend Eric and his team

The project included the replacement of the Roof with architectural shingles, addition of ventilated rear soffit across the entire rear of the house and garage, wall repair from water damage, and replacement an old non-insulated door to a steel insulated door within the garage. Due to how busy they were the project was scheduled 2+ months in advance. On the work day, a fleet of vehicles arrived on time, with a large work crew. Eric went over the timeline for the work to be completed, along with introducing his project leader for the job. A lot of effort was put into protecting the sides and landscaping of the house while the old roof was removed. The entire team was very friendly and didn't seem to mind me watching a lot of the work being done, also stopping to explain the areas repaired from the water damage. I was very impressed at how efficient the team worked to complete all of the work listed above in 1 work day (roughly 8am - 5/6pm). The entire area was left clear of debris and a partial stack of shingles was left in case we ever need to do a repair. This work led to no water issues this past Winter and the Spring melt, and everything stil looks great. We look forward to working with VanDusen Exteriors again in the future.

A great experience. Requested a few estimates in the fall and Van Dusen were the only ones who actually sat down with us (Dan) and explained everything. One company never even returned my email, rather just mailed me a satellite picture of my roof with a much higher estimate for the same product I received from Van Dusen. Later we inquired about a new sliding door and Eric came right over and talked about our options and set it up for install the same day as the roof. The foreman, Zach and the crew were great. Thank you Eric, Shannon and the Van Dusen crew!

It went well. They had a whole crew come in and removed the old roof and put the new one on in one day. They came back a second day to wrap up some minor work and clean up for about 4 hours. They worked well and were very professional. Very happy with the work.

My wife and I are first-time homeowners, so we were extremely green and cautious about selecting a roofing company. We received six estimates and Van Dusen was the cheapest. The second lowest bidder admitted that Van Dusen would do a great job in less time than he could. I had to wait several months, because Van Dusen was booked until late October. During that waiting period we had a leak coming into our kitchen from the torch-down roof above it. Van Dusen sent someone to patch up the leaky area so that it would hold up until the full repair. The patch up did the job. Van Dusen is obviously an efficiently run family operation. They were here promptly on the morning of the job with a large crew (well over 20 guys). They told us the job would be done in one or two days. I was originally skeptical given the size and slope of the roof, but sure enough, by the end of the second day they were finished: All of the old shingles were removed and taken away, the new ones were installed, the torch down was repaired with a greater slope to prevent leaking and the chimney was repointed, and the yard was entirely cleaned up--you couldn't even tell they had been there. The roof looks great and so far we haven't had any problems. Furthermore, the team was friendly, likable and easy to work with. The foreman struck the right balance between asking us questions on important matters without overburdening us with questions. To sum up, Van Dusen is affordable, efficient, friendly and they do quality work. They are clearly the best choice for a roofing company in the area--even their competitors think so! We will certainly use them again when we replace the other half of our roof in the (hopefully not too near) future.

Contractor showed up very timely to look at job and provided quote. We contracted them to repair daughter's roof. They showed up exactly as scheduled and did a wonderful job. We also contacted them to provide quote to replace 3 windows in our home. Others would not even look at the job for only 3 window but Van Duesen's did and gave us an extremely fair price to replace in the Spring of 2015.

They were great. They sent about 6-8 people out to do the job at any given time. They got the done over 3 days. The cleanup was good. The workers were on the ball and they were very responsive, polite, and considerate. I have no complaints with them.

It went very well. They did an excellent job. We were very pleased with the whole thing.

It could not have gone any better. We had three estimates for the roof and Vandusen was the only one that was honest and told me we had another 2 to 4 years out of our roof. He was very honest and said he would love to take my money, but the roof may not look pretty, but it was sound.

We chose 3 contractors based on Angie's List reviews and had each give us an estimate. All 3 were very close in cost. However, the gentleman from Vandusen who came out to do the estimate pointed out all the things that were done incorrectly on the previous roof replacement (about 15 years ago) that were giving us problems now. He really put us at ease that Vandusen would do a quality job. We were not disappointed! The crew arrived on time and started right to work protecting the house and flower garden. The supervisor, Zach, gave an overview of the job and the timeline. Whenever they found a problem area we were consulted and given the options. During the job we had a bee problem that the guys had to deal with. Many of the crew were stung but no one complained. An exterminator made two attempts to get rid of them but failed. Zach actually opened up the wall and ripped the nest out. Problem solved! Our new roof is beautiful and all the problem areas were corrected professionally. We will recommend Vandusen to anyone who needs a new roof on their home.

Van Dusen Exteriors did a complete reroofing of my house as well as repairs to the siding. When I contacted Van Dusen and told them what I wanted, they immediately sent a representative to inspect the roof and provide me with a cost estimate. I also expressed an interest in having some siding damage on the house repaired as well. They also sent a siding person out to assess this problem as well. After I received the cost estimates for both types of work, I tossed them a monkey wrench and told them I needed the work for both jobs done on the same day due to my travel plans. Van Dusen Exteriors coordinated their two crews together so that they could perform both jobs at the same time which allowed me to conduct my needed travel plans. The day the work was done, both crews showed up in the morning along with Eric Van Dusen who is the owner of the company. Eric introduced himself and supervised all the setup prep work and coordinated the two crews. Eric and both of his crews were very polite, friendly and very respective of my property. The siding crew supervisor had to contact many different siding providers in order to find siding pieces that would match both in color and grain to the existing siding on the house, he spent many hours hunting these replacement sections and eventually found pieces that matched so closely that you could not see any noticeable difference between the replacement siding and the original siding, my thanks to him for his efforts. Both crews worked very hard and completed both jobs on the same day, what more could I ask for. At the end of the day, the crews cleaned up vey well and went to great lengths to make sure there were no roofing nails left anywhere on my property. Also, I need to give credit to the office staff, Shiane and Shannon both worked with me coordinating all issues leading up to the day of work and I could not have asked for a more friendly and professional office crew to work with me. Van Dusen Exteriors more that met my expectations and I would not hesitate to have them complete any additional work if needed or to recommend them for any work you would want done. The cost estimates they provided were a little less than other estimates I received for the same work, but the quality of work and the professionalism of everyone with this company was outstanding. This was, by far, the best experience my wife and I have ever had with a contractor. Eric came out, spent a great deal of time doing the estimate, going over every detail. Explained why things had to de done in a certain way. We decided to go with VanDusen and had the date scheduled. They had to start one day late because of terrible weather and still finished on time. The crew did an incredible job, they were all business, no messing around. Cleaned up really well each evening when they got done and especially well when they finished the job. Needed one minor adjustment to a gutter after the job was finished, e-mailed them and Zach, the foreman came right out and took care of the problem immediately. There aren't enough superlatives to describe the work VanDusen did for us. We have a couple more projects planned for the future, and VanDusen will be the first people we call. Original work date was 8/21, I took a half day vacation and waited until 10 am. Nobody showed or called to tell me it was rescheduled for 8/27. I lost a half day vacation pay. Foreman didn't bring proper screws for replacement of gutter. I have to replace gutter myself.

We liked Eric but did not use his services.

Called and asked for an estimate. Man came out and gave us a rough estimate but said he could not give a true estimate as he was sure his boss would want to do the whole side of the roof and not just the bad patch and said he would get back to us. We heard nothing. SO two weeks later we called about it and they admitted they had forgotten and sent us the estimate and asked for half down upfront. We sent our check and they cashed it within a week. A month later we called asking when they were coming and they said in the next few weeks. Called again the next month, same response. They FINALLY came Aug 21, four months after cashing our check. If we had known that they would put off our job for that long, we never would have signed the contract.

The entire process from start to finish w/VanDusen was fantastic. They are very professional and responsive and everything many others have stated. The job entailed stripping off old roof, install new roof, remove old soffit aluminum and cut opening in wooden soffit to vent, added insulation to attic. They had a huge crew that worked very fast...only took 2 days for the job. They were extremely neat and moved things out of the way and put everything back when job was done. When I mentioned I should have wiped down gutters before reinstalling a few guys went back up and cleaned even though they were packed up and ready to leave....no hesitation or aggravation w/my request. Provided photos of insulation work done. All workers were very respectful and worked well as a team and were eager to do anything I needed. I had been concerned that removing gutters may be a problem when reinstalling and you'd never know anything was done. The work is beautiful and thorough and stayed within my budget. I would definitely use Van Dusen again.

They did a follow up on the services done in May, it was not related to any work that they had done for us in the past but they noticed our windows were leaking. They spent half of a Saturday fixing our windows for no charge. They are a company that cares about their reputation. They are a generous company who is true to their word that they will keep a positive reputation. I would recommend them to anyone.

After soliciting 10 estimates for my home/shed roof replacement and chimney repair, I chose Van Duesen Exteriors. From the estimate process on through to the end of the job, the owner Eric, his wife Shannon, crew foreman Zach, and crew were very thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. They explained exactly what they would be doing and took the time to fully detail anything I had questions about. The team converged on my home in the early morning and persevered through 5 different small stretches of rain to get my home roof finished in one work day. They came back the next morning and finished both the shed roof and chimney work. Throughout the first day there were a few things discovered and a couple I wanted them to address myself and they took care of all willingly. The whole crew worked well together, and left me feeling both happy and confident in my new roof. A week or so after the job was done; the owner?s wife Shannon dropped by and placed a thank you basket of goodies on my doorstep as a thank you for my business. This was completely unnecessary, but a wonderful gesture I am grateful for, for sure! I would not hesitate to hire Van Dusen Exteriors for any project I have in the future. These guys get the job done, done well, and done right !

Paul was great to work with, very personable and knowledgeable. Due to busy work schedule, took a while to get everything scheduled, but once started, all went well. Great job overall, have recommended Van Dusen to others.

Everything was done very well. There must of been 13 or 14 guys on the job. The first day they took off the old roof tiles and I had the original roof covered over with another roof, so they were tearing out two sets of tiles. When they arrived they placed 4x8 sheets of plywood all around my house to protect the windows and doors and laid plastic sheets on the ground to catch the falling tiles. They finished around noon. They returned after lunch but it was raining so they sat in their trucks just waiting. Finally, the rain slowed down and they replaced the roof on my 8x12 shed, in the drizzle. They left around 4pm as the rain would not quit. The next morning the whole crew returned around 8 am and finished the roof. At the same time two guys installed a window where an old air conditioner had been and another crew was building and installing two sets of stairs outside my two sets of atrium doors. They also replaced my two old skylights with new ones to ensure their guarantee. There were two men who constantly were picking up trash and nails in my yard. They were always pushing around a magnet on wheels to get any fallen nails. When the job was finished around 5pm, they took me around to inspect and answer any questions. They had loaded all their stuff into the trucks and were ready to roll but the foreman spotted a small piece of roofing paper that was stuck on my house above the living room window. He had a guy get out if the truck, get a ladder and remove it. I never met a finer group of workers, they were always courteous and patient. They were proud of their work and it showed. There was always someone on the job even at lunch time. The new window really improved my family room. The new stairs were heavier and sturdier than I could have imagined. At one point they had the entire crew sitting on the stairs to check it out. I have had the roof worked on before but always there was something that was not done right but now after nearly nine months there has not been any problem at all. I have never found any remains of the old roof in my yard to this day. The guy who did the quote, I believe his name is Dan Green was just the nicest guy, he was on the job from start to finish. There was a difficult tie in with the roof over the garage and family room where a cricket was installed. Dan spent almost the entire second day on just that. The whole crew worked really well together and were always assisting one another. I never saw anyone dogging it. When the job was completely finished the owner's wife dropped by a few days later with a basket of home made cookies as a thank you. A really nice touch. Dan also called me some time later to see if I had any concerns.

They explained every aspect of the job to me .This company is the best that I have hired for home repair ever. The quality of thir workmanship was excellent and their price was fair.. I had many estimates but this company came across as honest where most others did not. I went with my instincts and I was right. The staff of this company was prompt. polite and professional. What was so refreshing was they enjoyed working.and they all worked together. They had a good work ethic . They worked long hours and stayed on this job until it was finished. They appreciated our business and even wrote a thank you note thanking us for their business. I would recommend them to anyone needing any type of home repair.
