Mark The Handyman

After practically chasing Mark the Handyman down because he had a problem returning phone calls, we scheduled Mark to come and do the work we needed (drywall, kitchen floor, and paint), but at the very last minuet he called and said he was unable to do it because he had carple tunnel, or some such problem. Really? Then why did he even give an estimate. Mark claimed he was going to reach out to another contractor on our behalf..........never happened. Thankfully, I found another company Better Home Solutions.....They were GREAT, and much cheaper! If we had not found them, we would have been completely screwed by Mark since we had a timeline, which he wormed out on in a very unprofessional manner. In my opinion, Mark was an overpriced, arrogant contractor. Sooooo glad we did not use him.

Obviously not interested in business. Left two phone messages and he didn't bother to call back. I emailed initially and received a response to contact by phone. Then when I did, he did not respond back. P*** poor service.

Called - came over the next day - Gave me a price and day-Showed up and DID it all. Handed put his number to everyone!!!

He found that the wall below the picture window was rotting and repaired it. He also repaired the rotted wall below the shed windows. He cut a power wire there by mistake.

He was very efficient and did a good job.

He did it in the time he said he was gonna do it. He was on time and he still had enough time to finish a job for my mom who was upstairs.

They are open and honest. They were well on time and cleaned up after themselves.

We chose to hire Mark about two weeks after he gave us a free estimate; he was available when we needed him to come. Mark was punctual, professional, and helpful. He took his time doing quality work. He pointed out that the reason the window in that bathroom only opened five inches was because it was not installed properly. He fixed the window free of charge in the time the paint was drying. He also plastered a small hole in the wall of another room for free. He offered to paint it but we did not have the right color. Mark cleaned up as if he was never there. We were happy with Mark's competitive prices and would recommend him to anyone in need of a handyman. When Mark finished, he took the time to answer all of our questions, relevant and irrelevant to the work done, and offered advice free of charge.

Mark was very responsive from the beginning. He returned our phone call immediately and then came the same week to give an estimate. He was extremely thorough when checking whether or not the the wall was load-bearing. He checked in the eaves of the attic as well as the basement. He spent a considerable amount of time discussing options, pricing etc. Immediately we got a good vibe from his straight forward and honest demeanor. We booked him and he added us to the next available day on his calendar. He was very punctual. Mark and his team showed up on time and always left the house spotless. When we encountered the problem with the floor being uneven he gave us several options to explore. We worked it out together and we decided on what would make the most sense for our home. Due to this unexpected delay Mark finished the job over the weekend. We could not have had a better experience with our renovation and our handyman, Mark. He did a beautiful job and we get endless compliments on our new open space and hard wood floors.

His price was nearly double that of other contractors, so I went with someone else for the job.

I contacted Mark by phone and didn't hear back right away (a few days to a week later). He set a time to come give the estimate and was right on time. We were in touch via email after that with the quote, answering my questions, and arranging a day. Mark came right when he said he would. It took about a day and a half to complete all the jobs. Mark is very friendly and works hard. He made helpful suggestions and even changed some outside spot lights high on the roof while he had out his long ladder! I will be hiring him again in the future.

We were looking for many tasks small/large that needed to be completed in a house we currently are renting. We had hoped to get things started and finished before Aug. 2nd. So I contacted this business hopping we could get some legitimate service. I have a son who suffers severely with autism so my house is rather, one would think, destitute looking and empty. However this is for his never ending behavioral issues and safety. Service provider did come and was showed the various jobs that needed to be done. I also explained that my son would be in school 7- 2:30 which I figured was a good working slot. We discussed the time frame and we were told we would be emailed an estimate. That was fine! So three days go by then a week and now we are going into the middle of the month. As it is now I have VERY little time for personal task. I have to look again for help! I feel this service provider was very unprofessional and judgmental for not following through. Maybe he thought the work was too much or I was too poor to pay for the task! Whatever the case be upfront and trustworthy! Please!

It went fine. He's very up front with you, and he will offer further assistance before he leaves. He's very accomodating.

If he's no longer in business, or too busy, a response is still in order.

Nothing was accomplished. I had to find someone new and start over again.

The jobs went very well. Mark tested the shed for sturdiness and nailed it to the frame to be safe.

He did a good job. He was easy to work with and on time.

It took Mark a week to put the floors in. He was timely in the morning and left notes every day. The work was completed in the stated timeframe.

Mark from Mark The Handyman Company did a really good job. He does quality work. We were very pleased with how knowledgeable he was. He was able to tell us that the previous ceiling we had was installed incorrectly and that's why it was damaged by moisture. He replaced it with a vinyl ceiling. He took his time to do things right. I didn't see him take any shortcuts like I've seen other people do in the past. I would continue to use his services in the future.

After the installation of the toilet, the leak continued. Mark came back and found the leak in the drainage pipe leading out of the house, patched the pipe and patched the soggy drywall. He was committed to finding and fixing the problem.

I contacted Mark after seeing him listed on Angie's list. He answered the call right away, and after a minute or two of me explaining what I wanted done, he said he would call me back since he didn't have his schedule book with him at the moment. That was reasonable since he was probably in the middle of a job when I called. What I didn't expect is that he called back 5 or 6 days later. We finally discussed the jobs, and I received the estimates several days later by E-mail. For the first job, he showed up on time, and installed the pull down stairs and storage platform, just as proposed. The second job (suntube skylight) had to be scheduled for the following week. When he failed to show up at the promised time, I waited about 90 minutes and called him. He said he couldn't find the suntube in stock at the two closest home centers, and "didn't I get his E-mail?" I checked my computer and there was nothing from Mark. We rescheduled. He showed up about 35 minutes late, but did complete the job as described,

The quote was for $9000. He was going to replace some lights, do drywall work, painting work; etc. He was very brief to me. He tried to give me some alternative choices other the drywall because he wasn’t sure of the area. I would not recommend him to others. It was a small meeting. He suggested things, which I wasn’t interested in at all. I was completely interested in drywall and insulation. It seemed like he didn’t want anything to do with the drywall as it involved a lot of materials and labor. I will not use his services in the future.

He was responsive. Things went well. He was very pleasant and easy to work with. He gave me some feedback on my work. He was punctual and stayed late to finish the job. He finished some basic work, but a couple of things aren’t done yet.

This was by far the most pain-free household work I've ever had done. Mark was punctual to the minute and stayed on schedule the whole time. There doesn't appear to be anything he doesn't know how to do, and he made some helpful suggestions about things like paint brands and colors. He is meticulous in every detail, and obviously loves his work, and cares a great deal about maintaining his business reputation. He was very pleasant to deal with in every respect.
