Description of Work: We had D&R Paving dig up our old driveway and install a new one. We were not happy with the overall experience and would not use them again. | |The initial dig out included an expansion of the driveway which was discussed with their representative, Tim. When the workmen came to dig they did not know about the expansion and barely had enough rocks to cover the dug out area without the expansion. They then spread the rocks they had over the larger area. We had to complete the expansion by hand shovel as they did not dig far enough out. | |The side door concrete stoop was broken by the dig out process. When we contacted D&R about the stoop, it took Tim a full 2 months to get back here to look at it. That meant we had two months of unpaved driveway. Tim agreed to patch the stoop and said it would look "good as new." All they did was to glue in the corner that had completely broken off. It is still broken in the middle and needs to be replaced at our expense. | |It was stated that they would trim the branches of the arborvitae adjacent to the driveway. The workmen sheared the trees up to 5 feet high. These trees are 40 years old and have no branches five feet up next to the driveway. Our neighbors have stated how ridiculous this looks and the survival of the trees is now in doubt. | |Finally, the huge pile of tree branches were left on our neighbor's lawn with coffee cups, plastic bags and cigarette butts lying on top of the pile. | |It is quite clear that D&R's representative, Tim, tells people what they want to hear and the paving workmen do whatever they want without clear communication from Tim. | |We did write a letter to D&R's owner outlining these issues and they never made any effort to correct the problems. Tim did leave a message on our machine saying he "heard we had some problems with the driveway." We returned his call, left a voicemail and never heard back again. | | | | | |

Description of Work: They took out all the old cracked pavement, regraded and repaved. Overall we were very happy with the completed work although there are still some depressions where water lies. Since that time I have left several messages as I wanted them to estimate seal coating but I cannot get a return call? Disappointing to say the least.

 + -1 moreDave came out and spoke to me about the estimate. After it left his hands it went to Tim's hands. Tim never got back to me about the services. he was suppost to call on monday and never did. I called him on wednesday and he apologized. he said that he would contact me when dave gets back into the office and I never received that phone call back. I told them that I didn't want their services since they couldn't call me back. He called on friday and left a message saying that they would be out that following monday.
Description of Work: totally take out the asphalt and put new in for the driveway.

 + -1 moreD&R did good work. We got their name from a company that specialized in sealing and in their opinion, the driveways D&R paved were among the best based on their sealing work.
Description of Work: We had a 4800 sq foot circular gravel driveway that goes up a hill, then down. D&R came in and performed the necessary grading and recommended the type of asphalt needed given our situation that would minimize problems during the winter and be long lasting. They arrived on time and were very professional in the work they did. he owners were on-site to oversee the project. They completed the job in one day.

Description of Work: There was a few scheduling snags while they were getting their machine fixed. But the work was done well and looks great. They did have to return to fix a stone that had been paved over instead of removed. Overall, nice job and nice personnel.

However, the driveway has some twigs paved into it and seams that are noticeable, and their machinery caused a large crack in the concrete of my garage (they left the garage very muddy, too). I called to discuss my concerns and set up a time for the owner to meet with me. He did not show up and my telephone calls were not returned. I had been very impressed with his professionalism when he provided the quote, but very disappointed with the follow-up. He did deliver what he promised.
Description of Work: They completely removed my existing asphalt, re-graded the stone and applied a new asphalt surface.

 + -1 moreThe process was very smooth and fair. The estimate was done quickly. The office and owner were very patient with me making many calls to them asking various questions. They accepted a $100 coupon from Angies list that I had at the time. The job was done by about 10 men, all very professional and working hard the entire time. It was a 1-full-day job. They had me go out with them before the job to go over exactly where the driveway would go with spray paint. They did what they said they were going to do. The layers were the proper number of inches as stated in the estimate (I was home and watched closely). They gave us instructions on how to care for the driveway and maintenance. The seam to the garage and the driveway edges are perfect. There are no puddles and water runs in the proper and pre-discussed directions.
Description of Work: Removed 3000 sq ft crushed stone driveway and installed a new 2-layer paved driveway.

 + -1 moreThe job took one and a half days.. Both days the crews arrived promptly very early in the morning and started work immediately. It took most of the first day to dig out the old driveway, grade and install the gravel. The second day they fine graded the gravel and did the two coats of paving. Despite the narrow driveway, overhanging tree branches and utility wires, and a large air conditioner unit right next to the driveway, everyone on the crew was very careful and professional and despite the size of the trucks and paving equipment there were virtually no problems with any damage - the exception being a couple of small broken branches. They also did an excellent job cleaning up after the job was completed, both on our property and the street in front of our house. Overall I think they did an excellent job and I am very pleased with the results. I would certainly use them again and not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else in need of a quality asphalt paving job at a reasonable price.
Description of Work: They excavated and removed an existing paved driveway along with a new parking area. Six inches of crushed stone were installed and compacted followed by two courses of asphalt paving material. Total area paved was 1750 square feet. Everything was graded to allow for proper water runoff.
