"Brandon went above and beyond to get my refrigerator repaired. He showed up at the end of the day and fixed a brand that--I have found out afterwards--most people won't touch. He explained every thing and told me what to take of in the future too. I will never call anyone else."

"Silver State Appliance is awesome. Matt the tech took care of fixing our oven that wouldn't heat up. He was not only on time but a little early and called me shortly before he was due to arrive. He was courteous and extremely professional. Plus, he went the extra mile to take apart our oven door, which resembled more of a Rubikâ s Cube with the amount of panels it had to clean out drips and spots that were trapped and visible. It was a lot of extra work and he did a fantastic job. The charges were super reasonable and we were really pleased with the end result. Jason the owner was wonderful to deal with and really helpful. He was able to schedule my appointment for the very next morning. If we have any other appliance repair needs, Silver State will be our first call."

"I hired Alex and his team to remove my popcorn ceiling and apply new texture, and he did such an amazing job that I had him come back to texture my living room as well. Both times he was professional, on time, and worked quickly without cutting corners. The quality of the finish is excellent — everything looks clean and smooth. I highly recommend him for any drywall or ceiling work! 10/10"

Appliances questions, answered by experts

DIY is possible for plug-and-play models. Professional services ensure proper connections for built-in appliances.

Yes, a dishwasher needs an air gap to prevent backflow. Additionally, in many locations, air gaps or another measure to prevent backflow are required for building code compliance. There are alternatives to an air gap, like a Studor vent or a loop and trap design, but an air gap is the simplest and most popular solution.

You should deep-clean your dishwasher every month for optimal performance. A simple scrub down using a homemade vinegar liquid solution is all you need, but don’t use cleaners that aren’t for dishwashers

If your dishwasher needs repair, expect to spend between $50 and $100 or $100 to $200 per hour to hire a dishwasher repair technician to service your machine.

Treat hard water with water treatment tablets to keep your dishes from getting spotty in between washes. Drop one of these into your dishwasher monthly and run a basic cycle with the machine empty.

In some locations, regular sanitation will pick up large appliances at no cost, but in others, you’ll need to pay for “special pickup” or “bulk pickup.” While the cost of these services is usually less than hiring an appliance removal company, it’s still worth considering because they will disconnect the appliance and get it out of your home. This appliance removal service is especially worth it multiple doorways or flights of stairs leading from the appliance to the exterior.

Most appliance retailers have dedicated installation teams that can tackle the delivery and installation process simultaneously. Unfortunately, just because a retailer sells a specific appliance brand doesn’t mean that its installation technicians are certified by that manufacturer to complete the installation. You could end up with a voided warranty if the installer isn't certified, costing more money down the road. It’s best to find an installer that is certified by your appliance manufacturer, even if it means paying more or dealing with potential scheduling conflicts.
