Works like a charm.

We went to them because they were the biggest kid in town when we moved up here.

Overall it was a pleasure to work with Moana Nursery. I plan to use them again.

Our home is 30 years old and we have 15 stations and over the years we've had various companies maintain/repair/replace our sprinkler system. We're tired of fly by nights and no shows, so this year we decided to go with Moana because they are a well respected local nursery, we have had good success with their trees and shrubs and and we wanted a certified technician. and gt;Their irrigation tech (Ryan) was very helpful when we called because we had some sort of leak. so we asked them to do the spring season and quot;turn onand quot; and check out the system. Ryan went through the system and checked out all the stations and said everything should work fine. and gt; Within a few weeks another problem surfaced; this was a station that gave us trouble last year in an irrigation box that I paid good money to have rewired and replumbed (by another company) a couple of seasons ago. Ryan indicated it was a type of sprinkler that was not of the quality that they currently used. Also there were thousands of ants swarming the box when I looked at it. I think we had some miscommunication. I heard him say he would look for the part and return. All the ants needed was a little Raid. I thought he indicated he would do that when he returned. He told his boss he said he told us to find the part and to get rid of the ants and then call him. He also put in his notes that he visited the house several more times that we remember. This created tension between us. Regardless of all of that, we got pretty frustrated when we hadn't heard from him for a few weeks. We kept calling and he didn't come out. Finally we decided to get a new company and while I was shopping i decided to write a negative review on Angie's list. The Moana Nursery manager called me first thing the next morning. UPDATE: Manager (Scott) responded promptly to Angie's list review post and scheduled a visit the next day with the irrigation tech, manager and us. Also Ryan's immediate supervisor (Lewis) was there. We discussed the problem at length and the supervisor and manager left prepared to hunt down the missing part. They also explained they were not certified to do pest control. (Luckily the ants were only a problem that one day, to my knowledge. They had appeared to be swarming as social insects tend to do from time to time.) Lewis and Scott both called and emailed back a couple of times to report they could not find the part. I requested an estimate for replacing the box. The supervisor (Lewis) came out and tried one last time to flush the valve and it still wouldn't work. We decided to simply shut off the one station for the season, as it is in the shade and can be easily hand watered. We'll wait for the and quot;big fixand quot; when the next station goes out. In the meantime Lewis promised to keep an eye out for a used replacement part. I offered to pay Lewis for his time, but he refused payment. Both the manager Scott and the supervisor Lewis were very courteous and professional on the phone and in person. This was very much appreciated as much of the difficulties inevitably stemmed from miscommunication. We don't hold any bad feelings about the tech. I think his intent was good and he gave it a good effort, but this problem was just too difficult to easily resolve. Plusthis time of year they are very busy and its hard to keep up with all the clients. All we ever wanted was a company that would tell us what was needed, give us a fair estimate and do the work as promised with no complications. Moana Nursery far exceeded our expectations. We plan to call them if we have any more irrigation repair needs.

They are really nice people, and they are very knowledgeable. We were very pleased with their service. We thought we got a good response from them, and they did what we asked. Their price is probably high. There are cheaper people around, but Moana provides better quality.

I wasn't pleased because what I wanted they didn't do. I wanted some certain plants that had vines that grew around my pillars. I wanted my front to be filled in in front of the bedroom windows. I felt that the guy that came out spent too much time talking to me about personal stuff. When planters came out, they didn't plant it close enough to the pillars so the vines didn't take to the rock. When the supervisor came out, he saw that and had them move it. I actually used them twice. I felt they just came out and threw some plants in the ground and they were expensive.

Overall excellent experience. Workers were consistent in arrival and departure times. Workers were professional and helpful throughout their few weeks working on the projects. No complaints.

They were quick to respond back to me an give me the estimate that I needed.

They started work on Monday and completed it on Thursday, as promised; for plants not available (perennials) they left pots as placeholders and guaranteed everything they planted. Due to the climate here in Reno, NV, they followed up in late Spring for plants that we were owed and any that did not survive the winter for whatever reason. They walked the yard, noted what needed to be replaced or planted and returned w/in the week to complete the project to our satisfaction. Our backyard is small, so it presented a challenge, which Moana handled extremely well. The Project Manager and and crew who installed were very professional and a pleasure to work with. The Project was on time and on budget, and the post-winter follow-up was done as promised.

About 90% of the plants purchased have survived. Just one issue on the return of four scotch broom plants that were in the process of dying and were about 75% to completely dead. Their return policy is that the plants returned must be completely dead prior to bringing them back for a refund. Believed that since we had been an excellent customer of theirs, they would accept the dead to dying plants and refund our money. Had to take the plants back home and put them into the ground to either await their resurrection or ultimate death.
